  1. I have a Metanium XG on my jig rod(7'1 H Zodias) and I love it
  2. I'd recommend the JDM Shimano 13 Metanium XG. They can be had for under $300. Japan Lure Shop is where I've bought all my jdm reels
  3. Same thing happened to my order. I placed my order before noon on Monday and when I go to track my package it says delay and that it has been left in the facility. I paid for 2 day air and its not going to happen
  4. Heddon Zara Spook or Strike King Sexy Dawg are good choices
  5. ^^^^Japan Lure Shop is where I have bought all of my JDM reels so far.
  6. I would go for the Metanium XG. It is smooth and powerful, especially since the XG has a 96mm handle compared to the lower gear models. I use mine for all my bottom contact presentations and couldn't be happier. I own both the HG and XG models and if I could do it over again, I would get two XGs. That's just my opinion on the Metaniums. As for the Aldebaran, I don't have much experience with them. I have used one briefly and it is definitely as good as a Metanium, but it would not be my choice for heavier jigs (3/8 and up).
  7. I use 10lb Powerpro with about a 15 foot leader of fluorocarbon leader on my 3000 Shimano Exsence HGM and absolutely love it. Casting distance is great and never have to worry about line twist. I mainly fish around deep grass beds and using braid allows me to have better hook sets. It really comes down to personal preference though. I would try them both out and see what is right for you. I use braid to leader on all of my rods except for my crank and spinnerbait rods.
  8. I also recommend japanlureshop.com. They have super fast shipping and their prices are lower than other jdm retailers.
  9. Revenge deep runner 1/2 oz in chart/white is my favorite.
  10. 30lb on a spinning reel is not ideal for me. 10 or 15lb is what I prefer to use. The size of your reel will play a big role in the castability of 30lb braid. If your reel is 2500 or larger than you should be okay.
  11. It shouldn't be an issue as long as you lay off on your hook sets. I have been using a MH XF with 40lb braid for the past year and really enjoy it.
  12. My favorites are: 1. Swim Jig 2. Bladed Jig 3. Brush Jig
  13. My go to lure for night fishing is a Siebert brush jig in black with a pit chunk in perfection as the trailer. A bladed jig or swim jig in chartreuse/white are solid choices as well.
  14. 3/8 oz Siebert brush jig in 24/7 with a #11 black/blue pork frog
  15. Spend the extra money and get the stradic. The Symetre is a nice reel but the FJ is much more refined in comparison.
  16. Looks great. Ill have to give them a try
  17. Just curious as to what people have to say on this. My oldest reel was also my first higher dollar reel. I have used my Gen 2 STX 6:4:1 since 2011. It started out as an all purpose reel for everything from trigs to cranks. In 2013 I replaced the stock spool bearings with some Boca ABEC 5 ceramic bearings. Ever since then it has been my cranking reel for shallow to medium divers. My STX has seen hundreds of hours on the water and still keeps on going.
  18. Original Marabou Road Runner in chartreuse
  19. 1. Swim jig 2. Brush jig 3. Finesse Worm 4. Bladed jig 5. Fluke
  20. What is the Lew's LFS frame like? I'm thinking about picking up a Tournament MB on Black Friday/Cyber Monday
