Lake Eufaula
Been to long since I've been there. A guide I've used is Tracy Bealle(sp). He is Tom Mann's son-in-law so the folks at Mann's store could put you in contact. Great guy, excellent boat (always was a Ranger ) excellent tackle and a hard worker.

Fishing Paretner
Anyone able to fish during the week that needs a partner? I have a 19' glass bass boat with a 150 so we could trade off or just use mine. I'm retired, live in Bristol. Boat launch and retrieve has become a bit of a hassle so I've cut way back on fishing the past two years. I don't fish T's but I have no problem with those who do. Prefishing would not be an issue depending on the lake. I fish Newfound, Waukewan, Squam and Winni but I hold off on Winni between July and Labor Day. To many crazies! If you have any interest shoot me a PM and we could get together for a burger, beer, coffee or what ever to make sure we are reasonably compatable.

'Bass fishing bullies', or what???
Proof that some jerks fish T's but my experience has been that most T guys are courtious.

Best all around line
I assume your PA water is not heavy with cover. So for an all around set up I'd put on 10 or 12# Berkley XL.

Jigs...Tap Tap?
Catt pretty much agrees with what I have experienced. Sometimes it's tap tap, some times it moves, some times it just get heavy and some times its a surprise with a fish on as you start to move the jig. I don't see differences between a jig bite and a plastic worm bite. Many years ago I attended a seminar where Woo Daves started his session with, "Before this seminar is over someone will ask how you determine if it is a worm bite. So I'll start right off with my interpetation. You know what it feels like to not have a bite since most of the time you aren't having a bite. If it feels different than not having a bite set the hook". Thanks Woo it has been pretty good practice over the years.

Looking for canoeing/camping in NH
Nephew fished the Rapid River in Maine flowing into Umbagog for brookies with great success. He is 100% C&R but got some great pictures of quality brookies.

Retrieving Your Boat 101
There is a guy I wouldn't mess with. He's got to be some kind of strong.

boating courtesy
Here in New Hampshire when you are 150' of shore, another boat, a swim raft, a dock or people it is headway speed only. Not always followed but is enforced.

Bow Livewells?
What I have read and heard is that the fish get beat up pretty bad but I have no first hand experience.
-
my 2 cents...
My memory is suspect but I recall reading that catch and later release in warm climes is not as detrimental. The young of the year have a better chance of surviving winter in the south as opposed to northern waters.

casting accuracy?
Many times I have heard that trap and skeet shooters were not as on target when shooting live birds. Since I have had the pleasure of both clay target and liv e bird shooting with a state champion clay target shooter. Few misses on clays and few misses on birds. I would bet that 99.99% of casting contest people got into contests as an offshoot of fishing and because of basic talent and considerable practice they would waste most of us on the water.

3 Bank Charger
Junebug, You are right about not charging the cranking battery most of the time. When you are fishing long hours with little run time on the big motor. The cranking battery being hooked up to live wells, depth finders etc can and will get down to where it won't start the big motor. I had it happen to me about Thursday on a week long trip to Ontario some years ago. I charge them all every day they are used.

Trailer hitch
The heavier bumpers are probably okay for many boats but they most likely are not at the correct height.
-
Is the front of the boat an advantage?
Fishing T's may cause different reactions but when a friend and I fish together I try not to hit all of the likely spots. If you are sharing a day you should share the spots. If he doesn't see a spot I point it out.

boundary waters
Protect you food from the bears!

3 Bank Charger
You need a bank for each battery. I have had a 3 bank Promariner in my boat for nearly 20 yearsa with out a hitch. Plug in at night when I get home and I'm fully charged in the morning.

Anyone tried the new vanish
I guess I disagree with some. I have used Vanish and Transition and like them both although at he price I like the BPS flouro.

Think my line is still good?
I'd use it. I have had reels well stored out of extreme weather for 2 years without any problems.

To cold for top water ?
I had a great hour or two many years ago on an Indiana gravel pit catching LM on a surface bait in a snow storm. Regardless of water temp I usually have a surface bait tied on or ready to tie on.

Had a run in with the Game Warden today
I had a similar experience many, many years ago while duck hunting. I was waiting at the DNR local office the next morning at opening and had a little polite talk with the head of inforcement. End of incident, from then on the CO passed us in a wide birth with a friendly wave. We were doing absolutely nothing wrong but the CO kept searching and scewed up our hunt. There are few bass lures that don't mention trout somewhere in the package. I agree that the CO was strutting his stuff. I don't break the fish and game laws and I treat the CO's with courtesy and expect the same.

will a 32LB thrust be efficient for 12 foot flat
Unless there is a lot of wind or current you should be okay. Be sure you charge the battery fully before you go and as soon as you get back.

why am i getting so many backlashes?
I sense that last year might have been your first or maybe second year with a bait caster. If so and your reel is set up properly you just need some practise. Athletes of all types and stages need tuning up for a new season. I've probably been bait casting more years than a lot of you have been alive and I still get more backlashes at the beginning of the season.
