  1. I use Oakley Flak Jackets with amber lens. They never fog and I can wear them around all day, whether I'm fishing or playing ball.
  2. Welcome to the world of swimbaiting lol. There are baits that cost far more than those. To justify the prices, there aren't really any cheaper alternatives around.
  3. I miss the old catalogs where they listed every color, weight, size, etc. That actually helped me gather a list to buy every Spring Fishing Classic. Now it just tells me to go online.
  4. 7'2" MH/F Skeet Reese Micro, PQ 6.3:1 with 15lb Invizx. This past year, this rod got a lot of use as I threw jigs most of the time. I am looking to upgrade within the next year.
  5. 6'6" MH/F Quantum Bill Dance combo. It's not the best rod but I like the action. I don't like fishing squarebills on a moderate action crankbait rod. A fast action allows me to rip out of wood cover better.
  6. I've been using Kick'n Bass but I just placed an order for some megastrike to use on hudds. Not only does scent act as an attractant, but it also can mask the smell of plastic.
  7. Skill is when luck becomes a habit
  8. 4x 6" hudds and 2x 8" hudds. I'm going to buy a shimano cardiff 300a tomorrow at BPS and ordering a rod off TW when it comes in stock.
  9. I check BR on the way to the lake. Other than that I double check the plugs on the boat...
  10. I want to work on swimbaits, a new PB, and better boat control and positioning.
  11. Shimano Cardiff 300a on a Okuma Guide Select 7'11" Heavy. I'm going to start throwing some big baits.
  12. Bass Pro Pro Qualifier or the Revo S are two great choices that I have had experience with.
  13. I use Trilene XL for all of my mono applications. If it's a spinning reel then make sure the line is spooled onto the reel the same direction it comes off of the reel.
  14. 1. Think like a big fish. Ask yourself, "If I was a big fish in this lake, where would I be right now?". Use your electronics and locate offshore structure and other spots that would be ideal for large bass. 2. Slow down. Big fish are big and they carry a lot of weight. They don't want to use a lot of energy to chase down food. 3. Go big. Same reason as #2; why would a big fish waste energy on a little baitfish? Know what the big fish are feeding on and match the hatch. Lakes that produce big bass usually have big baitfish such as hitch or trout.
  15. I agree with everything above. Just remember that practice makes perfect. To practice, I set up cups placed on their sides and pitch to them from a small step-stool to replicate standing a little above water. You'll get some funny looks doing this
  16. I limit because I like to keep it simple. Watermelon in clear water, green pumpkin in stained, black and blue in muddy water. I experiment with trailers and presentation, not color.
  17. If you have a smart phone there are apps that have topo maps. I use the navionics app and it works just fine.
  18. It depends on line and lure for me. I'm not going to lock down my drag on 8# test or when fishing treble hook jigs. I also don't want any give for things like pitching a jig on braid or bigger fluoro.
  19. I started using Seagar invizx this year and I love it. It's very castable and soft.
  20. Sweet reports. I love my PQ. After 2 years of use, mine still fishes like it did on the first day.
  21. It depends on what you need the rod to do. The 6'9" will give you slightly more accuracy which is useful when shallow cranking, and casting frogs and spinnerbaits around cover. On the other hand, the 7' will have slightly longer casts which is ideal for deep cranking. The 7' will also pick up line faster on the hooksets. It's up to you and you made a great choice on the veritas
  22. This spring and summer, I've pitched jigs, flipped jigs, and swam jigs. This winter I want to fish them slowly and on the bottom.
  23. Very nice. As long as the tackle suits your needs, then you should be good to go!
  24. What style are the finesse jigs? If they have round heads, I'd throw in some brush jigs. I have a small tackle box too for when I go to a local pond.
  25. I had to hit the BPS on the way home from a family vacation. A few jigs couple of trailers Power Pro Invizx some hooks various weights Yum Dingers rod covers
