  1. You ain't lying! Hope it heals up quickly for you.
  2. Yeah, but the SEC is still WAY better than all of the other conferences.
  3. Well, now I was just there for 2 nights and not for a game...I probably got a different experience. We had some really good food though at a couple nice restaurants. Our trip to/from the stadium was via cab so we didn't have to drive. We were down on the field for the concert.
  4. I went to the Kenny Chesney/Zac Brown concert in Columbia back in May. Great city, and very nice stadium.
  5. Ok...I might have to at least partially agree on this one. Those guys are kinda crazy.
  6. Tennessee Vols: 2010: oregon, uf, lsu, uga, bama, sc 2011: bama, uf, uga, lsu, arkansas, sc 2012: bama, uf, sc, miss st, uga 2013: bama, oregon, sc, uga, uf Just sayin...some do. It's been a rough couple years as a Vols fan.
  7. I don't think I've ever heard an SEC fan make that claim. I'm a Vols fan, but I know they didn't win the BCS last year. They hardly won at all. But, maybe some fans who root for their conference are proud when an SEC team wins, which is almost every year lately.
  8. yeah, but bama is in the best conference...the SEC.
  9. that's a good one right there...good that the boss man has a sense of humor
  10. I don't disagree with your comment (other than calling mine nonsense). I'll just say that my Vols have Bama, Oregon, SC, UF, and GA in the next 7 weeks. That's pretty dang tough. West Virginia has a VERY tough schedule too. But the Vols play 5 teams that are ranked higher than anyone on the Mountaineers schedule. That's what many SEC teams face every year. Is going 7-5 with 5 losses coming against top 11 teams different than 7-5 against a lesser schedule? I'm not overly emotional about any of this...I also like non-SEC schools with very respectable coaches, teams with a lot of heart/character (e.g. Penn State last year), overachievers (Boise St.), etc.
  11. I don't think any of that is true, unless you know how we really feel, and we don't. I don't think I've ever met a single SEC fan who thinks any SEC NC is a NC for all other schools. And, I don't know any SEC fans who think that only the last 10 years count. But, I would rather have last year's NC than one from 63 years ago. It's just conference, or maybe regional pride. Kinda like being proud of growing up in a tough neighborhood or something.
  12. Excellent point
  13. I don't see what's wrong with having conference pride. Ok...not everyone else feels that way...fine. But what's "third grade" about that? I'm a huge fan of an SEC team that's currently a little down (but with a very rich/successful history). I'm proud of the fact that my team is in the toughest conference. 7-5 in the SEC with losses coming against Bama, SC, UF, LSU, and UGA is a little different than 7-5 most other conferences (in most other years). It IS the toughest conference, well beyond the top 2-3 teams. I don't see how anyone could dispute that for recent years. What's the big deal?
  14. For the last several years, the SEC has represented ~half of the top 10 from start to finish. SEC consistently stomps the elite teams from other conferences. Yes, there are SEC losses too, but not nearly as often as SEC victories.
  15. That's a good one right there...
  16. you ain't lying!
  17. I've had a couple Benchmades that have been great knives for almost a decade. Saltwater, sand, other forms of abuse, and no issues whatsoever.
  18. Under this circumstance, it's acceptable to scream like a girl...
  19. Thanks. Kuwait is very safe...just extremely hot and sucks to be away from home. I'm from South GA, but I lived in Knoxville for a couple years. I love East Tennessee. Take care.
  20. Well, I've been in Kuwait for about 5 weeks now. Last weekend, my wife took the kids down to Savannah, and my boy Andrew (10) insisted on a trip to the BPS. Here's a funny note he sent me today: "Hey. This is Andrew. Mom told me to tell you what I got at BPS. So this is what I got : RAGE TAIL Rage Anaconda(s), Rapala Shallow Shad Rap, And That Polka Dot Vibrac Rooster Tail. I was going to get: Yum Yumphibians, And Strike King Space Monkey(s). Instead, Mom is going to get the Yums at Cebalas, and the space monkeys at BPS.Well, nice time talkin' to ya! Thanks for the post-card!" I think he's worse than me already! I'm proud that this has rubbed off on him, and I can't wait to get back home so we can hit the water. Just thought I'd share the funny story. Yall stay safe.
  21. That's awesome...thanks! Where's Buford? I'm from down around Savannah but I live in Evans now (just north of Augusta).
  22. I read today that next year Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop are opening stores in Augusta, GA. Best news I've heard in a while. I know where I'm headed as soon as I return from Kuwait next summer!! I hope it's true...it almost seems too good to be.
  23. I know, I know...just don't see any reason to try to embarrass a kid (or anyone else). That discourages communication. Anyway, have a great one!
  24. How is telling a kid publicly that he needs to "grasp the language before drop shot" not unprovoked rudeness? If you really wanted clarity, you might want to grasp some manners. Just sayin...I'm sure others were thinking the same thing. And...grammer?
