In my younger years I used to use all my sick days for fishing days. Didn't have to go with anyone...I just liked to fish. Later years I got a bit more responsible. Tight Lines

Dang...glad I don't live in the land of hard water!!! We moved to Tennessee a couple years ago and I'm loving fishing 12 months of the year. Or at least pretty close....very little snow so far. Even had shirt off a couple times. (not pretty but felt good) Good luck up there.

I'm curious how many fishermen work on their own boats. I just got done putting in a recirc pump and a fill fump for my livewells. Decided to do lower unit too and then saw where there was some small tares in boat seat so siliconed those too. (too expensize to recover) (it also amazes me how thin the covering is on the boat seats!!) My wife had said to go fishing but I thought...why not...get it done while the weather is starting to get better. I figured I saved quite a bit of change. Still want to take it in for a couple small motor things but was a good feeling. Now give the ol girl a wax (2002 Triton) and she'll be looking good and easy to wipe down. Tight Lines

I had a small one once. Was a bit painfull over the toilet and then there was a "tink" sound as it hit the back of toilet. Looked and looked for it but couldn't find it!! Wish ya luck.

Thank You Been there done that!!! Now it seems I just try and work thru it ... especially with the thumb area killin me. My elbow if I keep it at a 45 causes numbing so we don't do that much. I do feel blessed at 62 that I still don't need a butt seat in the front of boat unless theres a lot of waves. Anyway good luck to you all and many tight lines. P.S. Cold muddy water really is tough. The only thing I could say is the more muddy the water the shallower I fish. And I usually fish slow with lots of scent. Tight Lines

I used to enjoy chasing them with a fly rod. Then got into the salmon and steelhead on a fly. But then all the different purest groups started trashin the warmwater fish in different ways and now its gotten to this so I'm glad I don't represent that out there anymore. Love Tennessee

Yup...slime rockets be steelhead and trout. Well not lil trout planters they kinda just kinda wiggle in place. Have caught hundreds if not more when lived out there in Oregon but when I was a manager in a couple fishing stores in Portland I just loved defending the warm water fish. Did get under a few skins I'm sure but this is life. They do have a cold water mentality out there for sure. One of my biggest smiles when I moved out here was to see trout for bait in some small bait shops. Even though there's a ton more people out here....they seem more friendly and everyone seems to respect what everyone fish's for. Must be that SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY......HUH. I also complimented our TWRA for what they've done with Norris.....Oregon management usually never got many nice letters about bass. Thank you all and tight lines

From what I read this morning it's so sad that Washington State fish and game has taken limits and size off the smallmouth in areas of the Columbia River to protect slime rockets. Believe this is going to happen pretty quick if I read it right. So nice to have been blessed with moving out east where all fisheries are respected even the trout!! Tight Lines

I've got 39 years with my wife and she has supported me all these years of chasing bass. I even tried to sell my boat a couple times due to money issues and she would have NOTHING of it. It's a 2002 Triton that she picked the colors and it's still a great looking and running boat. She's a KEEPER in my book and definitly a gift from above. Tight Lines

I miss the Columbia River but I like fishing all waters.

I have used Smelly Jelly for years and I know it worked great for me on the West Coast....now we'll see if they like it in Tennessee. So far so good.

I know lure selection is important but according to my graph the fish had just disapeared. Do the fish move that much in winter when the conditions are that cold. (I guess they did) I was fishin in 5 to 25 and they left and it was a long stretch of bank. Both smooh and big rock. This has happened to me twice and was wondering. Still learning this eastern fishing to say the least.

Ya got Lake Mead right there in Vegas. A very interesting body of water with a lot of history (US Open for one). I'm sure there's rentals but you'll have to do the research there....good luck.

I like FLW....quit subscribing to BASS when they took the am's out of the back of the boats. Not that they haven't done good for the sport but "just sayin" Tight LInes

I have actually done that a couple times. Going back to visit mom for a couple days and am going to fish the Necanicum for a couple hours and show a friend some secrets around Seaside. (LOL) I also miss the upper Columbia....many places. Arrlington in the wind.....upstream of Boardman in the spring on the Oregon side...(won a Western Div here)....above the Dalles dam in a no name pool (oh baby ...oh baby) and on and on and on, or the black water and waves when you make the turn going down from Richland and the pucker factor in the wind. Don't miss the spiders and yellow jackets around Tri Cities though) Tight Lines

I took a friend from Oregon to Lake Norris here in Tennesse for the day yesterday while he was in town. The water was a bit stained and hadn't seen this here before and so tried a couple spots with no luck. Tried to find some clearer water and did so and got on a bite where we had about ten fish with three being over 18 and a couple over 16 and even lost a couple that could of have been big. Was fishing in about ten to twenty feet of water with small plastics. The day was windy and cold and the wind really picked up around one and the fishing died. The day had started overcast and rainy and then went to clear and sunny. This happened last time up there that it just died after one....and like they even disapeared on the grapgh. Was fishing points/inside cuts on a large creek. I mean I'm not complaining we caught fish....I would just like some input on where people think the fish go. I didn't think sun would bother them in the ten to twenty feet of water that was partially cloudy with wind. Water temps were about 46 and lower. Anyway...Tight Lines to all and thank you.

Just retired a F150...believe was a 1999 converted van that had over 250k on it and it was starting to need some love. Never used a drop of oil but took me all over to fishing tourneys out west and to Texas. Then finally out here to Tennessee. Was just getting to where need some bucks for some major stuff. So spent three grand on another regular full size F150 with bout a 100k and look forward to some more travels. The ol van never owed us a thing when retired. Tight Lines

Heading back to Oregon for a few days to visit my mom due to some unique circumstances. Anyway I have a friend back there that I'm going to spend the day with and do a varity of fishing. I have fished this one river over on the coast by Seaside for over fourty years and will get to see it again after three years away. Will be kind of cool to see if I can hook a steeldhead. Than it's down the road a bit more to do some whatever bites fishing with bobbers and little jigs on a couple coastal lakes. Hoping that the yellow perch are in close. There should be almost zero competition on the water due to the time of year. Anyway will post a report when I get back. Who knows might even be a LMB in a pic!! Tight LInes

I do like a good game....but to sit when daylight is burnin....ohhhhh it's tough. It's sad I had to move away for Seattle Seahawks to do well and even the Oregon Beavers didn't due to bad. But now the only real temptation is all the new water/friends and new situations. Tight Lines
