  1. We are talking about using braid as backing. opposite what you are thinking.
  2. If you buy one spool of Power Pro at $12 at Wal Mart and put it on as backing, that will be cheaper than wasting an extra 100 yards of mono every time you change. I change line about 4 times a year. Power Pro could also last multiple season so overall it would be cheaper
  3. make a spooling station out of it.
  4. Both, and here is why. They have completely different styles. Red Eye shad falls differently, etc. Never limit yourself to one type of lure. Some days Rattletraps may work, the next Red Eye shad.
  5. here is why you do this 1. by using braid backing, you don't have to use as much main line- thus saving you line and money. 2. braid lasts a long time so when you change line, you only have to change the first 80 or so yards 3. cast further
  6. Bull Shad and S-Waver, also Spro BBZ-1 6"
  7. D Bombs keep hook protected better. Lot more snags with the RI.
  8. Havocs baits are low quality. They could at least trim the excess pouring off.
  9. P-Line is a coploymer. It is mono coated in Fluoro. It is a hybrid. Not true mono.
  10. McCoy and Pline is not mono. For mono applications (topwater only rod), I use Sunline Supernatural but I always go up in size. If you want 15, get 20lb.
  11. I bought a Rapala one for $19 that had the best reviews. Tried it out tonight. My crappie was .44lb and the largest bass was .79lb. I have never had a scale so I am glad to get one.
  12. I am real particular about using P-Line CX in the Fluorescent Blue. All I can find now at Academy and TW is in Moss Green. Anybody have any qualms about fishing line color? Does it really matter? I normally fish stained waters anyways. Not much clear water in Alabama.
  13. I have tried a lot of line and this is the one I come back to. Low memory, my knots are super strong, hardly any line breaks, etc. Easily available in most stores and affordable.
  14. here lately I only buy two colors. Green Pumpkin and Junebug. All you need. Green in clear water, Junebug in stained muddy water. All the other colors are to catch fisherman, not fish.
  15. negative ghost rider. I am not a fan of drop shotting but would only do it with a fishfinder when bass are suspended deep in cooler water. but what do i know.
  16. I never use swivels. Tying a knot takes 2 seconds and it always doesn't hurt to retie every know and then. Only time I use snap swivels is on A-rigs.
  17. I used one of mine and it always went right. I retied my knot and just never could get it to walk unless I reeled and twitched really fast. Really disappointed in the lure. I have another one I will try but since it didn't walk as advertised, I am stuck with another frog.
  18. didn't they already have Ike combos for kids?
  19. I was disappointed. Couldn't get mine to walk that well. Had to do a fast twitch and reel to get it to do anything.
  20. awesome for saltwater. I surf fish and troll with a 6000 size.
  21. I would not get the cheap frogg toggs. I upgraded to the Toadskins and much better.
  22. I wish the craw devoure was a little bit bigger. Also, the tickler worms work great on shaky head. the 4.8 inch swinging hammer is great on the back of a Dirty California swim jig
  23. i have gone away from them and now use the Paca Punch or Tiny Paca Craws.
  24. Look guys, I am not talking about quality. I love Abu Garcia and never had a problem. I am asking how it is throwing in a round conventional reel into a lineup of low profile reels. Abu's quality is awesome. Shimano fanboys can leave this thread.
