my son connor caught his first bass yesterday. he has reeled in many, but this time he casted, hooked and reeled in his own fish. i had to unhook it for him because he still won't touch them. it was a great moment seeing the joy on his face. he was casting a wacky rigged ace with a gama circle hook. now if i can only get him to last more than 3 hours on my boat.

fished lox from 12:30 til dark and whacked 'em! i was going to go to slims, but the wind was howling. fished the wind blown sides of the west end. power pole is the greatest investment ever! caught over 30 fish with the biggest being 4+ pounds. my buddy caught it on a gambler ace weightless. we also caught some good ones on a rip roller, spook, and skinny dippers. i caught 5 fish in a row on a scrounger, but they were all <a pound. super fun session.

stik-o's are great. i have also tried their version of a swimbait, but you have to doctor them up too much to get them to swim properly. the stik-o's are worth every penny.

is it just my house or is your house loud? i have a 3 and a 5 year old and man my house is always loud. i soo look forward to those times when my kids are with my wife and i have the house to myself. don't get me wrong, i love my kids, but man are they loud. am i alone?

skinny dippers and spooks. the key on the flats (at least for me) is to look for 2 things: a difference in depth of one foot or more, could even be 6 inches. the second is i always look for open areas off of the main trail. it may take me 15 minutes to get to the hole, but that is usually where the fish are. very rarely will i catch anything of size on the the trail. you really have to use your trolling motor to get to the open holes in the back. sometimes you even have to use the big motor to get through some of the thicker junk. i may be going out there on sunday if i don't go to the lake. i will let you know.

thanks paul. how do you bring the hook through the head without ripping the bait? do you peirce a whole with the hook and pull the eye through backwards? ( i hope that makes sense). it seems all you do is catch monsters!!! right on.

paul--how do you rig your matt minnow? i got a bunch from tw and i tried the screw in hook with weight, but it just doesn't swim right. i have been using a 5/0 ewg with one of those clamp on weights, but there has got to be a better way.

do yo have car? let me know and i will put you on some fish in a lake out west by glades and lyons. giggy head with trick worms dropped off the ledge---kills 'em.

thanks lee, kevin, and doug. i have been fishing lox a lot. i was there sunday and caught a bunch on the flats. 3 pounder was my biggest. i have also been on lake O a lot as well. i found a really good area that has been producing 15 to 20 pounds every time i go. i hope it stays that way, because i have 3 tourny's there in the next 2 weeks.

most golf shops will let you demo any set of clubs you want. try many different brands and go to a range and beat balls. if you are then serious about taking up the game, get custom fitted by a reputable golf shop. then you can choose one of the brands you tested and give them your specs and they will hook you up with the proper clubs. learning to play with improper clubs will discourage you from playing. good luck and practice your short game.

the break was nice, but i definitely missed BR. have you been on the beach lately? are the mullet thick where you are? i was surfing 2 weeks ago in sebastian and the snook, jack, and everything else were hammering the schools that were balled up.

dolphins 10-6 with a sweep of the pats. the last time the fins went 4-0 in pre-season we went 10-6 and won the first playoff game. we got crushed by the broncos who eventually ended up winning it all. watch out for #91 cameron wake. he is a monster. jason taylor will also have an amazing year.

i have had great succes with lizards using them like this: -carolina rigged -a small black or white lizard thrown on a bed -swimming a gambler loco lizard on top through the pads. i believe bass think they are baby gators good luck.

a very tragic accident. i fished a tourny at the lake today and the guy who was running it was fishing the same tournament yesterday when this happened. he knew both men and said they were great guys. i agree avid, when the big motor is on you must have a life jacket on.

exactly. some clubs i have fished will not allow the big fish of the tourny to be dead. others allow it. as long as the rules are known prior to the event, there should be no crying.

If having lost $7 on line that you didn't like is that big of a deal to you than maybe you should not be fishing guy!!! i love the expert advice from both of these guys line is like all other fishing products----try them, if you like it then use them.
