  1. right on lane bros!!! from the photos, it looked like chris was in the monkey box.
  2. there is no way they are "gone". i believe the population has suffered a huge loss, but no way are they gone. those fish are more resilient than most think. even if one male and one female survived in each body of water, they will flourish again. this isn't the first peacock kill i have seen nor will it be the last.
  3. he caught it flipping in 2 feet of water. that is a hog!!
  4. go to espn.com click on more sports then click bassmasters. jt kenney is still leading with 15-13. sencond place is 15-6, but the guy caught a 10-3 pounder. russ lane is 3rd and bobby lane is 5th. all of the guys the gave interviews said they caught their fish flipping. it is amazing that for 2 straight months i was busting 20+ pounds every tourny i fished out there. just goes to show that when a cold front come through florida, fishing shuts down. i looke for one of the lane bros to win. hopefully
  5. jt kenney is leading with 15-14. lots of single digit weights. tough fishin on the big o. i will update as the come in.
  6. i believe the closest beach from orlando is indiatlantic beach. i would suggest going on a drift boat, where you pay the fee and they supply the gear and bait. the problem with pier fishing is i don't know if the peir supplies gear. good luck and have fun.
  7. a student in my class lost and aunt and uncle in the quake. they also can't find a couple of their cousins. this poor kid is only 11 and he has to deal with this. tragic man.
  8. i have att uverse. i used to have direct tv and att uverse blows direct tv away. i have the package that includes wfn and i believe we only pay $5 extra a month. it is well worth it. demanding a cable company put a channel on just doesn't make sense. these companies have to make money. besides, $5 extra a month is not gaffing anyone. jmo
  9. Do you guys eat them down there? Cichlid taste pretty darn good i catch them for the ladies in my cafeteria. they love 'em! they call them strawberry dacqeries (sp). they are also an amazing snook bait!. there is a spillway in lake worth that holds MONSTER snook that will gobble up those cichlids. give it a try---you won't be disappointed.
  10. thanks bob. would you know where i can purchase that material?
  11. cart i was listening to sid rosenberg on the am radio today and that is exactly what he said. he also mentioned that tony larussa was probably the one who made him bring it out now instead of 3 months down the road during spring training. tony larussa is a baseball freak who will not tolerate ANY distractions during spring ball. good call cart.
  12. does anyone know the actual name of the plastic/rubber material that is used for the scrounger? i would like to know so i don't sound like an idiot every time i call a hobby, craft, or plastic supplier. thanks in advance.
  13. went to my sister in laws on sunday. as i walked to the lake, i could smell the death. there were at least 50 dead peacocks and most of them were between 3 and 5 pounds. i only saw a couple of little ones that were dead. there were also a lot of dead cichlids. on a brighter note, the cold has killed many iguanas. mother nature has a way of fixing things.
  14. those were probably closet jet fans. comparing a 1-15 to a team that won the division, made the payoffs, and had home field advantage is stellar. you're right booing was appropriate.
  15. i hear ya bro. it has been freezing here in florida for 10 straight days, with a warming trend coming by late week. i honestly do not know how anyone handles being on lock down in their homes. brutal man---just brutal.
  16. wow! that was a great game. i feel for aaron rodgers, he played his tail off. keep your heads up packer fans. you have a great future with rodgers.
  17. i thought the jets fans were pathetic, but the pats fans just showed them up. they were booing THEIR team and tom (by gawd) brady within the first 3 minutes of the game. classless. the era is over.
  18. got a call from our club pres saying the tourny is cancelled. go get 'em tiger. it is a club tourny, not the bassmaster classic. safety first in our club. there are some folks who do not have the gear to handle tomorrows conditions.
  19. don't know if i am going to fish my tourny tomorrow on lake o. i heard the north end of the lake may have snow flurries. rainy, cold, windy and tough. the pros have been there since yesterday, and i heard it was an extremely tough bite that is only going to get tougher. may have to sit out this club tourney.
  20. skitter prop. best prop bait on the market. especially after it receives a custom paint job by dsaaavedra.
  21. going to be another tough weekend. i am sure a lot of peacocks will perish after this next front. going to my sister in laws sunday, i will let you know what i found.
  22. the last time i fished lox was the day after christmas. i caught 3 small fish and was out of there by 11 am. the time before i stroked them out west between the second and third spillway. kevin and sofla are spot on when they say it is hit or miss. i am just glad i live nearby.
  23. exactly tin. i hated to see welker go down. as soon as he fell, i knew it was his acl. it will be extremely tough to win when the #1 receiver in the nfl is out. if an injury like that would have happened to a colt starter, some of these same people who are complaining would still be complaining. just like glenn said: 6 of 1 ............
  24. did you fish KOG? did you catch your 10 pounder in a tourny at holiday? nice fish.
  25. everything mr. welcome said will get 'em. i have been crushing them on dippers. all of the areas i have been fishing are HEAVILY vegetated, so any treble hooked bait will not work. big spooks, any size junebug worm will work. i know you are under the mercy of your angler, but the east wall, monkey box are hot right now. most of the fish have moved shallow. i have a tourney out of clewiston on saturday, i will let you know how i do. the last 3 trips i had at the lake have resulted in averaging 20 pounds per. i hope that trend continues.
