  1. Pictures and video should probably be included as an attachment to a resume. And chances are the pictures need to be of you holding a giant uncashable check and not a fish.
  2. Safe driving tip: DON'T DRIVE IN IRAQ!!!
  3. Funny thing is I had to do some math to figure it out lol. Turns out that my insurance went down this year. Never knew it lol 25 woo!!!
  4. Keep it wet or it will dry out. d**n Gulp
  5. With high gas prices and whatnot, I've downgraded my expectations to this xpress boat. http://www.xpressboats.com/files.php?id=IdgsKG3KAYXwYwwrDFFQmsoDvmb7UC7Ny3G0CpQAmvkXkvpDtn2OUQSjpZLR9IqJ9OpbOrR2JZrrAfnROSo2gS6oFBhsP5A8psrwksEN3b1HRZdEoQYM I'm looking at the 17ft model and I've taken one out for a spin. Seems like a good boat, but I want to run it by the experts on here first. Good boat or no?
  6. That's a tight spot for a 10 inch worm
  7. Structure: Solid habitat Cover: Ambush spots within that habitat I have a feeling this might spawn another thread Submerged trees...like once upon a time climbable trees is structure to me. A lone tree or a grouping of small ones is cover. That's just my interpretation. Chances are, technically, Catt and Raul are right, but I already voted so I gotta stick with it ;D
  8. Thats why the proper answer to the question "Are you having any luck?" for me is always "Nope, never do."
  9. If the date is on the 5th, I might be able to help out. I'm a soldier in 3rd HBCT in 1-12 CAV. Not sure what you need or if I am 100% clear that weekend yet, but lemme know if there is any kind of help you need. I can't do much in the way of $$$, but maybe I can help another way. Maybe I can get a bunch more helpers if I tell my commander about it ;D ;D
  10. Yeah, that works for me. That seems like a more positive approach that won't end up giving a bad rep or a restraining order ;D I guess that makes a little more sense. It seems like a highlight reel would own a resume though. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to hire LBH to make a video of me at Sugar lake. I'll pay rofl
  11. For non-fishing sponsors, I wouldn't care if it were Suave shampoo, but for baits, I think I'm just going to market myself directly to companies that I already have faith in. Maybe when it comes that time, I'll pass a resume through here and see how much it gets chewed up ;D I still feel like a shotgun resume just sounds more like a desperate plea than a business strategy. "Plx sponsor me cuz i r teh grate fsherman!!!" is just not working for me. I guess to each their own. I guess the reason I started getting bothered by it is because I'm writing resume's to various companies right now for a job. Getting out of the army sucks, especially for infantry. Ive got some good things lined up, providing I don't scare the heck out of my interviewer dudes. "So, Brian, what have you done in the last few years?" That's going to be the make-or-break question there. "You know, sir. Nothing much. We broke into an office just like this in Iraq and we fragged it."
  12. I guess I should have said "shotgun resumes." Meaning a resume that could fit the bill for any company in bass fishing from soft plastics to trolling motor batteries. If the resume is custom tailored to the company, you stand an even better chance at convincing them. I guess I can go ahead and ask ya if you don't mind. Do you care who you're sponsored by? To me, Strike King has some of the better spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. I use them both religiously on the water. If I were sponsored by them instead of Berkley, it would be better for both me and the company. Nothing wrong with Berkley, I just don't use very much of their line-up. I really wouldn't be a good advertiser for them. Like if Mattlures sponsored me. I have never even seen one of his lures. Depending on the terms of the contract, I'd be uncomfortable working with a company I have never tried before. Especially if I find out that after I sign up, they create a junk product that I'm stuck with.
  13. What I'm getting curious about is why write a fishing resume at all? Sponsers are going to pick you up based on your marketability and success. Sure, you can kind of display that in a resume, but your actions up on the weigh in stage and out on the water are what is really going to land sponserships that are worth having. If I were the owner of a tackle company I would recruit rather than listen to a bunch of "shotgun resumes" that were written as an attempt to get a sponsership from anywhere or anyone. What is the point of a fishing resume at all? Do they work? I think that by working with a company prior to asking for sponsership is a good way to get a sponser that you can actually use. I just have a bad taste in my mouth for people that are looking for freebies and handouts without actually believing in the products. It's not good for bass fishing. That's how Gulp still exists
  14. Mine is buying a motorcycle. That will save enough money during the week on gas to where I don't feel guilty for taking the truck and Canoe out on Saturday mornings. That and I really, really, really want that Honda 919
  15. Wow, I'm not original at all. "There he is." But I also have been know to say "Oh my god they do exist" on tough days ;D
  16. my mistake RW and Raul, I deleted my post. I was out of line. I agree with the fact that if the decay works, then it will work inside a fence or a bush just as well. If the carcasses serve as a warning to neighbors, then try hanging just the hides or be really unconventional and use the telephone. But I really wouldn't want my kids seeing that and getting a bad taste in their mouth for outdoor activities. Now with that said, I'm not a hunter. I've gone a few times, but I can't stand it. I've never killed anything that wasn't described to me as an enemy of the United States with the exception of my first deer and turkey. Felt guilty for killing both of those, which is kind of funny. I'm an infantryman. THe way to fight PETA (sadly enough) is not physically. I'm pretty sure that if all 15,000 of us ganged up on PETA, we'd probably wreck shop physically...but that's not going to help our case. RW and FC are right...it helps theirs. But if all 15,000 of us were to petetion or cast votes, then that shows a much stronger front legally. Sorry about my first comment. I should have kept it to myself, especially since I would have never done that in the first place. Besides, I live in a subdivision right outside of a military post. If I did what I had said, they would string me up inside the mental institution ;D

I ogt rid of all of my hunting rifles and shotguns, so I really wouldn't know anything. After Iraq twice, I don't allow any guns in the house other than my M14Socom for defense.
  18. I actually have a bigger problem with jigs and texas rigs than I do C-Rigs when it comes to gut hooking fish. Not sure what that's all about, but after fishing a carolina rig for a decade, I can't recall one time that I deep hooked a fish :-?

I've been home from Iraq for a few months now. We got back in November. It's good to hear that you're getting your R&R. Seems like you took it late in the deployment. Smart
  20. I used a rage tail craw in the summer craw with a matching jig this morning. Got a 4, a 3, a 1, and a 5lb catfish. That was the only jig of that color that I had and that stupid catfish bent my hook. It was time to get off the water anyway because of the wind. But this is the second trip I've that I've been on using rage tail lures and both times they paid off. These things work. Thanks for sponsoring the site and welcome, though it's a bit late for welcomes lol
  21. I really like to help people, but...ummm...I don't know what in the blooming h#11 you're talking about. ;D I'm helping by bumping your thread to the top again. Maye you should make a catchier title like "Check out my 15lb bass!!!!" That should get you some views ;D
  22. My dad is giving me his 75hp powered 17ft monarch this summer (unless he changes his mind) That little boat is economical enough I guess with that 4 stroke on it. I've canceled all hopes of owning a high power glas rig until they come up with an engine that is more economical. Maybe make one that runs off of luck or good looks ;D
  23. Get him to sign up on the forums. That will make LBH have to do a 20000 members video in about 2 months ;D
  24. I got a question for you other jig fishermen out there. When do you pick a chunk over regular soft plastics for a trailer and why? 100% of the time I use a "regular" soft plastic lure such as a beaver, craw, grub, etc. I've even used senkos, trick worms, and just about every other soft plastic lure. As far as chunks go, I don't see the value in them, excluding pork. To me, I put a trailer on a jig to define shape, add action, increase bulk, add flash/color, and slow the jig down. Yeah, a chunk does all of these for me except the last one. I don't see how it can possibly slow down a jig as much as a 4.5in beaver, 6in brushhog, or hula grub does. Where is the benefit of having a chunk in my tackle box at all?
