  1. Steve, There are a lot of snakehead guides in the area. Most of the bass fishing guides in the area also guide for snakeheads. Also there is a lake in Quantico that they introduced snakeheads to. You can find out about it prior to your trip by contacting Quantico Marine Corps Base. Hope this helps. Jay
  2. Yeah its fun but can also be stressful. I have been moving up slowly but steadily. I wonder if anyone on here has won any prizes from the contest?
  3. If you are playing fantasy fishing, what are you currently ranked? I am pumped because I am currently 145 in the nation... If I keep doing well maybe I can get into the top 100. Jay
  4. I use to be quite the ladies man. I have ex's all the time looking me up and leaving stupid comments that errk my wife, and her mother, and sister, and friends. I was tired of all the questions and fights over something so stupid as a girl in a bikini that says hello! Thumbs down to facebook. Jay-
  5. Wow this is awesome I thought I was the only one without facebook. At times like this I wish I still did though! Jay-
  6. It was just hanging out watching you eat your dinner and waiting for the left overs to end up in the trash. Sounds like a pretty smart coon. Snare it, 12 inch circle, 3 inches off the ground! That will take care of it for ya Jay
  7. Keep your head up, and keep your focus on wellness! Don't stray stand fast and true, and you will prevail. Jay
  8. Stouty Here is something for you to think about and is often over looked. The jig it's self makes noise every time it hits the bottom. The more cover or the harder the bottom the more noise it is going to make. If you want to make more noise with it bounce it off the bottom more. Rattles or no rattles the jig is making noise. That bit of info might give you the confidence next time you are throwing it. Jay-
  9. Come on loodkop! BR is the secret I wasn't going to tell anyone about! That is the all time untold secret! shhhh Jay-
  10. Just one more tip! Always always always, wear polarized glass when fishing. I can not began to tell you how many times I noticed some cover or a tailing fish with them on. I find lay downs missed by others not wearing them. They don't have to be expensive, I have the ole wal-mart 5 dollar Berkley's. Jay
  11. What is the biggest secret or tip you have learned while fishing? For me I would have to say, working baits slowly. When I discovered that slowing way down can get you bites the light bulbs lit up in my head. Before that I was very impatient and would catch fish but would miss a lot of fish too. Once I discovered that, I applied it to everything from crankbaits, to jigs, to spinners and so on..... It was almost therapeutic, as I would almost go into a trance while working my baits slow and would think how my bait looked underwater. I would even imagine fish surrounding my bait and thinking about eating it. It works just try it next time you go out. What tips or secrets have to experienced? Is there a certain cadence you follow? Secret rig to tip in rigging certain baits? How about a routine you follow when going out? Jay-
  12. Brian, No need to switch your baits so many times. C-Rig is a awesome structure fishing bait/search bait. A couple more suggestions are look for contour changes on land they usually carry on into the water i.e. look for where a bluff wall ends and it’s a quick change to flat shore or chunk rock, chances are it does that under water too. Get on google earth or map quest and look at the arial view of the lake. Sometimes you can see long points from that view or other interesting spots. Doing a little homework before you go out will save you some time out on the water. Good luck and tight lines. Jay-
  13. Although going Pro is a amazing accomplishment and a desirable dream for most it isn't for everyone. There is a lot of sacrifice involved in becoming a Pro for the Pro as well as his family. I live in VA not too far from PA, and if the lake and river isn’t frozen there will be people out fishing. The Joe’s I speak of have successful careers and are happy fishing locally and events for fun, there is a lot of stress when fishing for a living. Jason Christie and Hank Cherrie were Joe’s last year and are beating most of the Pros this year. They are not winning every event by no means, but are pretty consistently towards the top. I guess my main point is that not every Joe is derisory. Some actually have the knowledge and ability to be more if they so choice. If the Joe knows his water better than the Pro then I am just going to have to believe that the Joe is going to have the advantage regardless of the outcome. Jay-
  14. Ex-Law Enforcement Currently a Government Security Specialist! I would recommend taking a career aptitude test and going from there. Jay
  15. I would have to completely disagree with you on most of what you have written. I know a lot of people that fish lakes and rivers that depend, and know how to use, their electronics. Give the Joe's "some" credit. In fact some Joe's are good enough to make it pro, but choice not to. Every year some Joe's win invitational and opens and become Pro's. Most pros fished in everyday clubs until they decided to make the move. In fact something like 75% of all the Elite Pro's that fished the Classic got beat by the rookies that were Joe's just last year. Just saying Jay-
  16. Wow thanks smalljaw67, that is a awesome summary. I am going to have to stock up on them for sure. I like to tinker with baits and will for sure give them a try. Thanks again. Jay-
  17. Thanks Cad you are the man! J-
  18. What does anyone know about the new bio-silk jig skirts? Thinking about ordering some just because it new. Jay
  19. A lot of times bass male and female will get some discoloration on their stomachs from maintaining the nest. While they are clearing a spot some of the sediment they are clearing will stick to them. Don’t know if that is the case where you are that's just my .002. Jay
  20. Quanjig said it was not a ds. He was not asking. Lol Jay-
  21. When I saw him he was. A tiny little watermelon straight tail worm! J-
