  1. LOL Catt, I haven't been since November but will try to get up there as much as I can before my son starts baseball. I forgot to mention the fish were caught on the edge of flats and point adjacent to creek channel. All fish were released!!!!
  2. Well I made a quick trip last Friday and fished from 8am to 4pm. I started at the Indian Mounds with little success. Then moved to the mouth of Housen and Hurricane (front 1/3) and picked up a few solid fish. All in all is was nice on the lake. I ended up with 16. The water temperature was 57-59 degrees and fish were caught in 20-25' at the Mounds and 8-12' in Housen. All caught on TR baby brush hog and 7' thumper worm both green pumpkin. It seemed the fish are scattered on the main lake and in Housen wanting to stage. I covered a lot of water to find these. Good luck.....
  3. Does anyone know the water temp around Housen or 6-mile? Thanks in advance. I may head up there tomorrow.
  4. I want to go fishing but this think called "A JOB" keeps getting in the way..... lol
  5. It depends on the weather (WIND). I would trailer.
  6. Thank you Little Fish and same here. My son and fish Housen and 6-mile 4:30pm to dark Friday. We only caught 5 with one being a keeper. Saturday we fished 6-mile from 9:30am to 2:00pm and caught 15 with 7 keepers. All fish caught on TR baby brush hog (green pumpkin) and watermelon red 7" thumper worm in 8' to 12' FOW. We fished secondary points in the back 1/3 of creeks.
  7. Little Fish, I will be at 6-mile Friday afternoon and Sat. If you see a blue and white Phoenix give me a shout and I will do the same. Good luck.
  8. Thank you and same to you RonnieF....
  9. Thanks for the report JB. I will be there this weekend and will report. There is a good cold front coming thru Thursday that should make things interesting.
  10. Last weekend in Housen and 6-Mile was 78 to 79 in the morning and 82 to 83 at it warmed up. I'm sure its a little warmer now..
  11. I fished Housen Friday from 4pm to 10pm and caught nine. All were caught on a TR redbug worm in 8' to 12' FOW. Saturday I fished 6-mile from 12-3pm and caught 8 with the same lure. I couldn't get them to tough a crankbait so I stuck with the TR. The biggest was around 4 lbs. All fish came off of ridges, points and humps adjacent to creek bends. There was little to no schooling where I was fishing but plenty of baitfish in the area.
  12. Thanks Thanks....
  13. At what depth were you fishing BF? I'm trying to get up there this weekend.
  14. I fished last Friday from 6pm to 2am and only caught 5. So I can't tell where to fish but can tell you where not to go.... Jacks 944 lol. The surface temperature was 3 degrees warmer than on the main lake. The fish I caught were at the mouth of Housen on humps and ridges. All fish were caught on green pumpkin TR worm in 12 to 15 fow.
  15. Very nice BF. I'm trying to get up there one evening to night fish... Thanks for the report.
  16. Welcome Bassman, I'm not familiar with CB nor Negreet but I do fish at night during the summer months. Use the same baits at night as you would during the day. I have found once you find a spot that holds fish, at night, be patient. You may get a bite or catch a few fish then it will shutdown until the fish move in again, Good Luck
  17. Shane, If you would like, I can call have Mr. Alford and ask him to take some and send them to me. He lives in the subdivision. Then I can forward them to you. If he can't I may go up Saturday evening after work and I will take them.
  18. Yep all is good... I wish everyone could say that. I have family in Baton Rouge and Lafayette but everyone and their homes are okay.
  19. Work, work work.... no time to fish right now.
  20. Ok gents, my son and I fished Friday and Saturday nights from ~ 7:30pm to 3:00am with very little success. We fished the Indian Mounds, Housen and 6-mile (creek channel swings with wood) from 8 to 25 fow with crankbaits, TR and CR. Colors used were green pumpkin, junebug redbug and shad color CBs. We caught a total of 8 fish with 4.6lbs being the biggest. Where did the fish go I was catching the week before?????? I saw a 33.51lbs sack was caught Saturday night.
  21. How far east of the boat lane are the humps and ridges?
  22. No but I like the looks of it.
  23. Catt its mine too now....lol I started fishing this pattern with the lack of grass on the lake. It has been very consistent for me. I don't tournament fish anymore so you will seldom see me on the lake during daylight in the summer. I will fish Friday and Saturday nights this coming weekend and will report the good/bad.
  24. Thanks Skeeter Don. The wife give me a pass last Friday (7/22) evening so I ran up for one night. I arrived at 8:30pm and fished from 9pm to 3am. I fished the same areas (housen and 6 mile) as the previous weekend and ended up with a 7.4, 6.6, 5, (two) 4s and two around 2lbs. All were caught on 8" green pumpkin dead ringer worms TR with a 1/4oz weight. I've been concentrating on wood where the creek channel swings adjacent to a flat, hump or point. The fish I'm catching are on the edge in 8 to 15 feet. You have to been patient and wait for them to move up. I should be there this weekend and will report. Good luck
  25. Thank you for the report Bassin225. I fished Housen and 6-mile Friday and Saturday nights. We caught 3 fish Friday and 13 Saturday night. All were good quality fish with the biggest being 7.5lbs and several 4s. I should have caught more but was using a new tungsten bead on my CR and finally determined it was the cause of me braking off 10 or so times. (I do not recommend using tungsten beads) Anyway we fished points and humps in 8-15 fow adjacent to creek channels. The majority of the fish were caught on CR green pumpkin baby brush hogs and TR green pumpkin 6" thumper worms. I will should be up next weekend and will report. Good luck and God Bless...
