  1. I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.....TWC has already changed the forecast. LOL
  2. I hope the extended forecast holds true so I can make a trip to the pond next weekend...... highs in the 70s / lows in the 50s wind south 10-15. Now that's fishing weather!!!!!
  3. Catt, What areas in the main lake do you concentrate on at this time of year, near creek and river channels right? Also would you fish humps and ridges at this time? Thanks
  4. Thanks for the info Catt. The next time I'm up there I will be trying what you suggested. Catt would you concentrate on wood more since the grass is starting to die.
  5. Anyone going to the big pond to fish this weekend.....NOT ME. I'm not mad at them. lol
  6. Catt, So does wood, brush, etc and then add grass apply to certain areas of the lake or entire? Thanks for your feedback.
  7. Catt, do you down size in the winter or stay with the norm? Thanks
  8. Thanks Catt The trap, I assume will be worked over grass or where the fish will suspend. What about spoons? I don't fish them often but hear good thinks.
  9. Congratulations Catt.... I will wait for a better day and weather to fish. I'm not mad at them but just for the record, what will these cold fronts do to them? Thanks
  10. That's what I'm talking about football, fishing and food. It don't get much better than that.

  12. Bear, thanks for the update. I will be on the water tomorrow and into the night (full moon). I will post a update Sunday. Thanks again for everyone sharing info on the Big Pond.
  13. Bear, at least you caught something and a solid fish at that. I've been on the lake all day and not had a bite. Thanks for the update. I will be heading up there this Friday. Hopefully the wind will cooperate, forecast is 10-12 out of the south.
  14. Nice trip ToledoMard and thanks for the report.... I'm thinking about heading up Friday. I wonder what this front will do to the bite?
  15. Catt, when you say deep, is that still the 15 FOW +/- 3'? Are depending on season..... Thanks
  16. Then what TR or Jig?????
  17. Fishing Report Friday the 18th 4pm to 11pm Water temp 75-76 degrees Wind out of the east. I fished a grassline in ~ 12 to 15 FOW. - One fish on shad color CB - Three fish on topwater biggest 5lbs. - Seven fish on TR 10" greenpumpkin worms w/ 1/4oz weight all caught after dark. The fish were holding on grassline and not willing to chase the bait for from it. I paralleled grassline with the lures mentioned above using a stop and go with CB, fish caught on topwater plug was stopped, BONE/ORANGE belly, then bam I never had a strike while it was moving and TR worked slow, slower. It was a good trip being I haven't been on the lake in a month or so. Catt keep up the great work and look forward to crossing paths one day....
  18. Why not you drag or swim only?
  19. If you are leaving out of Big Bass, look me up so you can tell me where the fish are..... Lol. I will be in a blue and white Phoenix. Marcel
  20. Shaneus Are you fishing the up and coming night tournament next weekend?
  21. Report for the weekend As mentioned in my previous post, I took a friend of mine sons fishing for his birthday this past weekend. We fished Pirates Cove and Yocum. Daytime fishing was slow with only a few keeper on TR and CR worms and creature baits. Nighttime fishing was much more productive. We fish TR 8" and 10" worms with 3/16 and 1/2oz weights (depending on wind) in 15 to 18 fow. Our main colors were plum and watermelon/candy. We fished the outside edge of grassline. Friday night was more of searching than fishing but we managed a few solid keepers. Saturday night we had 15 to 20 fish from 8 pm to midnight. The best 5 went 16 to 18lbs. The son had a 4lber and the dad a 5lber. All in all a good trip taking a young kid fishing. Thanks to all for replying to my previous post when I was asking for info.
  22. Gentleman Thanks everyone for the replies and information. Catt, you mentioned Mill Creek, the last time I was at the Bend I fished it extensively with no luck. I fished east of the island, a couple of humps and main points. The only area I didn't try is where you mentioned the north boat lane second or third buoy in from the month. I will give this area a shot this weekend. Again thanks for the replies and everyone keep up the great reporting. I will start reporting also. Mguidroz
  23. Catt or anyone, Since we are talk about our youth fisherman. I'm taking a good friend of mine son fishing this weekend 16th-18th, it's his first time at the Bend in a boat, and would like to know where would be a good place to start. This kid loves to fish and is quiet the student of bass fishing. I just want him to catch fish (BASS) so he is not discouraged. This trip is a gift from me for his 14th birthday. It's been ~ 4 weeks since I have been to the big pond, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't need any honey holes just some where we can catch fish. We will be staying at South Toledo Bend State Park but willing the run as far as Negret if the wind permits. Something to consider, the wind will be out of the North/northeast. Thanks mguidroz
