Whats the best aproach to this type of cover?
TRY A HEAVY WEIGHTED PLASTIC WORM TEXAS RIGGED AND FLIP IT TO PUNCH THROUGH THE GRASS . ALSO TRY A POP-R OR OTHER TOPWATER BAIT OR RATL TRAP.

Primary and Secondary Points
A primary point will be on the main lake and a secondary point is one that is back in a creek arm or bay.

Goin' tomorrow, need advice
I would go with a spinnerbait and Rtl trap in the grass , but don't count out the rocks with a TRor CR worm.

What would you do?
Brian to answer your question on the 1/4 oz weight sometimes the fish will move off the edge of the hydrilla and move shallower ,a 3/8 or 1/2 oz bait thrown into the interior will just ball up with hydrilla but the 1/4 oz will not punch through. The DT-10 shad color is also an excellent bait for Stillhouse . Not all the grass is 10' to 12' down and that is when I throw a DT-6. Sorry I didn't fish the Buffalo Bills tourney but would be interested on seeing if anyone else did. Good Fishing !

Matt Jones Resume (how does it look?)
Try asking around at the local tackle shops ,if they exist here in central Tx there has to be some in the Dallas area.

What would you do?
On Stillhouse I will use a 1/4 oz sinker with my Yum Dinger or sometimes 3/8oz , leader length is usually 2'. A CR is a good search bait try it you may be suprised . I usually move around quite a bit on the outside edges of the hydryllia as the fish sometimes are hard to locate but sooner or later you will hit the jackpot .Stillhouse has a lot of irregular weed lines that meander in and out and you have to follow them with your depthfinder Also try Ratl Taps and a DT-6.A heavy jig is better in the summer when the hydrilla is up off the bottom and you need to punch through.

One certain lake...never good results, why?
I too had a lake like yours that was giving me trouble. The problem was not what I was throwing but where I was throwing it. Try the thickest natiest cover you can find and use a bait that will not get hung easily(jig and pig or TR worm/craw)

What would you do?
Sounds like Stillhouse Hollow. Try the hydrilla bed edges in 12'-15' with a CR and a 5" w/melon Yum Dinger.. Some of the better weeds are close to the river.

bedding bass in clear water?
One of the lakes I fish regulary the fish also spawn in clear water . Try a tube bait in watermelon or green pumpkin with an 1/8 oz weight. Put this in their bed and they will eventually have had enough and attack.

Matt Jones Resume (how does it look?)
In the larger clubs (50 to 100 members) you will learn something if not from your fishing partner from the members themselves. You will notice a definite pattern of who is the better fisherman in the club and can gain valuable info . I know I did. Just trying to help

Matt Jones Resume (how does it look?)
Matt , as a proffesional businessman I think your marketing skills will be a huge asset to you. I would add your tournament experiences as well. I do not know from your resume how much experience you have but if you have limited tournament experience a bass club in your area would be a good place to start as most larger clubs are very competitive. Fact of life : if you can't dominate your local club you have no business going pro it will be a sad experience. Once you have done well in that move on to larger open tournaments. Good luck, hopes this helps

marker buoys
I fish a lot of off shore grass beds that sometimes are quite small. Whan you hook a fish you can become disoriented to your spot. What I do is keep one on the top edge of my boat and when I get a hook up I kick it over board so I can find my spot.

Best Clear Water Angling Tips
Flourocarbon 8 -10 test and natural colors are the trick. As Raul said don't let the fish see you .

Newbie: question about leader lines
I agree with Cajun ,the c-rig is all I use a leader for. I use flourocarbon P-line which has helped me considerably.

Carolina Rig Tips
One important thing I have found that has helped me tremendously with my crig is using flourocarbon line. It will give you the extra feel you need and has helped me with more hookups. Pline is my favorite flourocarbon it seems to be much more limp and manageable than Vanish or some of the others and at a reaonable price.

Any good bass fishing magazines?
I prefer Bassmaster , even though there is a lot of tournament coverage you can use a large portion of the information.
