  1. This is patchie a 6 year old female Blue Heeler ,not a hunting dog but a real terror on livestock. T
  2. I'm sure others use some high end stuff for their crankbait fishing but mine is pretty simple and very effective . Shimano Curado B5 (older 5:1 green model) which I have installed ceramic Abec 5 bearings and smoothie drag washers. I paired it with a 7' St Croix MHM Premier crankbait rod. Total price if bought online probably less than $200. This rig will cast a crankbait a looong way. T

  6. I bought some black grape trick worms a while back ,I believe this is the color you are looking for...to my knowledge I don't believe there was a "violet" color...could be wrong T

  8. Turn the spool over and wind it on the other way and see if you get the big loops. Inferior fluoro does not cast well either. Also did not know that Sufix made fluoro? T
  9. You pretty much have it figured out already. This rod is a great crankbait rod for baits 1/2 to 3/4 oz but I don't think it will do much for your worm fishing as the tip is not fast enough to set the hook once you detect a bite. It would probably do a good job with jerkbaits although I have not tried one with mine. Hope this helps. T
  10. Your eyes can definitely tell the difference after a day on the water between a cheap pair of sunglasses and a quality pair. I have Costa Del Mar's , I used to have the cheapo Wal Mart specials.Word of advice don't skimp on the sunglasses. T
  11. If you want an interesting character look up Alfred Nobel who the Nobel peace prize is named after. I did a story on him in college and got an A , not because I am a good writer but I think my teacher was fascinated with this guy.Interesting stuff. T
  12. A couple a moon pies and a cream soda YUM T

  14. The All Star "Classic" is the rod you are referring to. I own several and really like them , best rod for less than $50 out there. T
  15. Check out Shenedoah a Jimmy Stewart classic. T

Those lure retrievers are great for lures you can reach but when deep cranking I use a heavy ball weight slipped onto my line , just slide it on and knock your crank bait free . You can find these at any fishing retailer. T
  17. You can't make a race horse out of a mule. T
  18. I've used these for about 5 years and had no problems. If you like to change crankbaits often check these out , they will save you a lot of time. They are rather small and do not stand out to the fish IMO. T
  19. I have not seen a price reduction on the All Star Platinum rods. Where did you see this ? T
  20. I got a 5.09 second time around T
  21. I have both and prefer the Curado over the Alphas. I have big hands and the Alphas is hard for me to hold onto when fighting a fish. Both cast great, however I prefer the Curado. If your looking for a drastic improvement over the Curado I think you will be disappointed . T
  22. I need to replace the rod tip guide on my 7' Avid MH casting rod. I would prefer to replace it with an Alconite guide like is stock on this model. What size do I get and where can I get just the tip guide not the whole set ? Thanks ,T
