Looking For Advice On Fishing A Large Pond
Soft Plastic Jerkbaits are a great option. When all else fails, why not resort to the lure the best imitates a dying fish. Plus, flukes can't easily "burnt out" so to speak simply because it mimics a baitfish in distress, and if bass didn't react to such they would go hungry, so they will continue to be caught on them.

Behavioral Differences Between Bass Species
Now, most people know certain specific behavioral differences such as smallmouth bass more often going for crawfish and living in clearer deeper, cooler water and being more streamlined while largemouth have a more varied diet etc. So what are some species specific behavioral differences you've noticed, e.g. fastest bass (I would say smallmouth), which one more often chases fish (SM)/most commonly ambushes (LM), aggressiveness (LM are overall more aggressive, SM fight more aggressively), strength, diet etc? What are some interesting things you've noted in specific differences in groups of bass; perhaps bass in one region prefer crawfish more, or you've one species has a faster cruising speed than another or strikes differently than another? I personally have just learned that NE bass are less likely to strike (brightly colored) salamander baits because the real thing, inn that area, is usually poisonous. Go wild

Polarized Sunglasses
Lenses come in a few basic colors, each providing different contrasts and advantages depending on the type of day you encounter. Choosing the right tint can be a tricky decision, especially for those that fish in a wide variety of weather conditions. The following list will explain what to look for when it comes to tints: Gray: This is a general-purpose tint, and will work well in a wide variety of situations. Colors are transmitted evenly without distortion, ensuring that all colors remain "true" while looking through the lens. Grey lenses are a good choice for sunny and bright days. Brown: Brown lenses provide the best compromise between true color and contrast, meaning that focal points will remain vivid and sharp throughout the spectrum. These are a perfect choice for medium to bright light conditions. Anglers with sensitive eyes will enjoy the comfort these lenses provide. Tan/Copper: These are another all-purpose tint to choose, performing best on cloudy or overcast days. They are comfortable for all-day wearing, and work well for sunshine conditions. For those anglers that sight fish, these are your best bet to buy. Yellow: Yellow lenses help in enhancing the available light, making them a good choice for dusk and dawn, and extremely low light level periods throughout the day. These will be all but useless during bright light conditions. If I could choose only one tint, it would have to be a tan or copper lens, with gray very close behind. Tan or copper will work best in most of the conditions you will face, and since the majority of fishing happens during dawn or dusk, this tint of lens will excel during these time periods. Having a pair of both would be ideal, although some manufacturers offer glasses with interchangeable lenses, which would work well for adapting to ever-changing conditions. A brown, leaning towards green color would be best for you, as it would filter out some of the green color of the water, allowing you to see deeper. You's be surprised how well a $30 pair would work. You don't need to strangle your wallet

The Women Are Worse!
I don't see black, white woman or man, I simply see what lure your using when I look over your shoulder I don't see black, white, woman, or man, I only see what lure your using when I peek over your shoulder

The Women Are Worse!
True, we love a women that can fish. Though I may not be a women, I am, for the the time being at least, stuck smack dab in the middle of suburbia, in high school. I am quite familiar with the disgusted looks and the questions about which mental health facility I escaped from that I would actually venture within 20 feet of non chlorinated water.

Why Do Some Bass Not Put Up Fights?
They're high. How well would you fight after huffing artificial attractant all day

Different Hook-Sets For Different Baits
I've recently begun to see great variance in hook-setting styles, e.g. snap set, sweep set, reel set, and standard powerhook setting. Keep in mind that today's hooks are incredibly sharp, you usually don't have to yank the moon from the sky to set the hook. What sets do you you use for which baits; I tend to use: Sweep set-slowest, reeling slack/loading rod, then sweeping sideways or lightly towards an 11 o'clock position For crankbaits...or anything with trebles. Including lipless crank (a standard hookset can rip them out of the mouth) Top water Soft plastics Reel set-Load rod with reel, (not so much that they can feel you) then set hook (not lightly, not powerfully, find a happy medium) when using smaller, wire hooks, e.g. wacky rigs football jigs/any jig not fished in heavy cover-Hard hooksets can pull the lure, causing that lead head to bust open a bass' mouth and swim away. This also compresses the weeguard before the set. This must be done quickly. Use a high speed reel. soft plastics- Quality Wide gap/EWG hooks and wire hooks Finesse lures (wacky rigs, shaky heads etc.) Anything with circle hooks Snap set- A regular hookset, but without having reeled in all the slack. It can pop a lure while in a bass' mouth instead of just yanking it out Also used for jigs. Good for T-rigged soft plastics when bottom bouncing; especially with heavier hooks Soft standard Hookset-'Nuff said T rigged soft plastics-wire hooks O.K. for jigs with small hooks Tex-posed Soft Plastics Hard-'Nuff Said Flipping and pitching when using massive hooks Swim jigs Spinnerbaits When a lot of line is between you and the bait/heavy cover Thick soft plastics with large buried/weedless hooks Topwater plastics like frog and eeliminators weedless hollow frogs

Pond Temps
I use my toes haha. In all seriousness, I look up lake temps for nearby popular lakes online to get a ballpark guesstimate as to my lake temperature

Jig Molds
I am have started making my own custom jigs, (I have some really nice patterns) but I'm looking to get a fairly cheap jig mold. I don't need one with 20 slots. I have been looking at the ones sold at BPS, but I'm wondering if I might find one cheaper. Also, what would you guys bet there is more of a market for in terms of jig head style. I figured Arkie heads and football heads would be the most popular but I am eager for your opinion. I wouldn't mind any info on small lead melting pots and where I might find them. (I have been swimming through Ebay and have also read reviews for the Palmer hot pot 2.)

Which Is The Bigger Feed Up.....debate Inside.
Their unwillingness to ravenously devour everything in their path, (post spawn) and to feed in completely different areas than the spawning grounds could be an evolutionary adaptation to prevent the massacre of YOY bass fry. After all, if females went on a killing spree, no genes would passed on. Huh...interesting research topic at least.

Fall Patterns
The smaller lakes/ponds near me are are all shedding quite a few degrees right now. I'm starting to fish slower, with suspended cranks
