  2. 7'2" MH/F casting with 15# flurocarbon (texas rigs, jigs) 7'0 M/F casting with 12# mono (treble hooked lures, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits) 7'0 M/F spinning with 15# braid/8# fluorocarbon leader (NED rig, trick worms, grubs, tubes
  3. I use a 5.4:1 for cranking and 7.1:1 for everything else.
  4. I grabbed one of the TP from Cabela's as well. Probably should have bought two for that price!
  5. 2014 Legend SS 1860 vbass 2013 Evinrude Etec 150 with jet lower unit I'm a river guy if you couldn't tell.
  6. 1/8oz rabbit hair jig in black that I tied up
  7. I played the crap out of that game. Heck I remember even winning some free games and baits in some online tournaments. Bassins Black Bass is my favorite for the SNES. On the Genesis, I played King Salmon Fishing a lot. I never could get past the last level where your goal was to catch a 100+ lbs king salmon.
  8. I'm paying my boat off four months early with mine.
  9. I'm a fan of longer rods, even if I am floating. Everything I use is 6'6" to 7'2".
  10. I'm not really from the STL area but 1.5 hours west in Gasconade County. I mainly fish the Gasconade and Osage River.
  11. Bass taste fine, especially out of cold water. I enjoy eating fish as much as anybody but I always keep the small guys for eating and put back the big ones. That goes for all species.
  12. I've caught several of my biggest pond bass during February for whatever reason. My favorite pond bait is a Trigged green pump or watermelon brush hog or a pumpkin lizard with chartreuse trail. The fish in my avatar was right at 8 pounds and caught in late Feb on that pumpkin/chartreuse lizard pitched next to a big log. A few days later I caught another one that was 5-6lbs on a brush hog in another pond.
  13. Sight fishing with a weightless trick worm. My favorite non-bass way of fishing is snagging paddlefish on Tablerock or Lake of the Ozarks.
  14. Topwater or weightless plastic would be my choice. Last year when the local rivers got high and muddy, a lot of bass were hugging tight to the shoreline in the grass and I had good luck catching them on a buzzbait.
  15. I had pretty good luck Texas rigging a 4" Chomper tube with a 4/0 hook last year. I'm going to try them rigged on a stupid tube head this year and see if they work any better.
  16. Myself and my buddy have had several Etec jets between 2005-2009 and ranging from 90hp up to 225ho. My 2008 115 and his current 2009 225ho each had to get injectors replaced, but it happened under warranty so neither of us have been out of pocket anything. His other three Etec's he never gave him any trouble. Unless something major happens to change my mind, I will always run an Etec!
  17. The Edge will treat you well. I had a 12v #55 for three years until I upgraded to a Maxxum 24v 70# last year. Having the variable speed adjustment is nice but I managed just fine with the 5 speeds before. The only way the electric motors are better is that you can get addons such as Ipilot. For open water fishing, it's hard to beat a Minnkota Powerdrive or Terrova with Ipilot but in area's with lots of obstacles, I'll take my cable steer everytime. If I could afford it, I'd have one of each!
  18. I'm a river fishermen so I run a jet rig. 2008 Legend SS 1852 Flat Bass with a 2008 115/80 Evinrude Etec jet
  19. I use a skeet Reese jig worm rod paired with a BPS Pro Qualifier 7.1:1 and spooled with 14# Berkley Vanish. It serves it's purpose but I am too a point where I am going to start upgrading to nicer stuff. I doubt I will catch anymore fish than I do now but it will definitely be more enjoyable to fish with!
  20. Mine enjoys going with me. She wishes her schedule was better so she could go more often. She's kind of awesome and I am thankful to have her.
  21. On the river's I fish, it's more about the location you are fishing than the bait as to whether you will catch smallmouth or largemouth. Slower water = more largemouth and swifter water/current breaks = more smallmouth. As for bait's, I rely on a finesse jig, 4" tube and a trick worm/fluke more than anything.
