  1. its an old diawa combo I got from walmart last year, worked really well for me (caught my biggest bass of the year on it (5.5lbs.)) the only thing I didn't like about it is that it was a two piece rod and it broke right at the connection point. I've been wanting to replace it with a better rod, im keeping the reel that was on it because it is a really good reel for coming from wally world. I guess this was just the fishing gods way of telling me to go get that new rod.
  2. Broke my spinning rod the other day, now I have to get another one without the wife knowing. gonna hit up DSG and see if they have anything on sale, if that falls through I just might have to ****** up one of the omens I have been eyeballin.
  3. it's the best "out" there is for me, too bad i got my wife hooked on fishing, so its really hard for me to do it alone now
  4. i dont eat fish, but i love to catch them all day long...not eating fish doesn't make you less of a fisherman
  5. rage craws on a 3/0 lazer trocar work hook w/ a 3/16 - 1/4 oz tungsten sinker, also just started using VMC 4/0 flippin hooks as well with the same weights
  6. finally got to put this thing on the water today, and I really like this rod, didn't catch anything overly large so I didn't get to see how it handles big fish but I got a couple small ones and it handled them with no problem, the rod flexes very well and it casts like a dream(I really like the micro guides), definitely would recommend this to others
  7. look into LFT live magic shad. they make them in a bunch of sizes and good colors
  8. I will post a review after I get a chance to fish with it I think the only difference from the normal series is that the blue ones have micro guides
  9. just picked up a new tech spec elite, looks nice (I like the blue), needed a rod over 7' (7'3" MHF) so I snagged this at DSG, its really like and balances out really well, I have it paired with a quantum KVD 6.4:1 reel. im gonna try to test it out asap
  10. siebert makes some great jigs, and also look at northstar custom baits
  11. the walmart by me has three of these bins and i look through them every time i go there and i end up walking out with at least five more things, but the prices aren't as low as they should be for what is considered a "bargain bin", the thing that throws me though is that a lot of the baits say saltwater on them, but looking at them there really isnt any difference except with the soft plastics that are obviously for saltwater
  12. has anyone tried these yet, i keep seeing them on tv and they look kinda cool. just wondering if anyone has any experience with these?
  13. thats not what a mojo rig is, look up bassresource videos on it and try it out
  14. weightless fluke, rat l trap, wacky rigged senko
  15. i use the largest camelback backpack they make, its really expensive like $200 or something like that but i had mine issued to me since im military, i love it, i use a 3600 box, a skinny 3600, a travel tolietries bag for plastics, and then i have a pro qualifier 350 that i shove in there, it holds everything that i could possibly need and its very comfortable.
  16. just got stationed in jersey this past september, i'm originally from oklahoma, i've only bank fished the ponds on base, but have done pretty well, plan on getting a kayak when i come back from deployment then im gonna try to branch out
  17. you cant go wrong with the lews reels, as for rods there are so many out there that it would be best to go test how some feel, i think you cant go wrong with a dobyns, duckett, or even the irod gen2's
  18. i use Rage Chunks, they work great and are more durable than i thought they would be
  19. theres a DSG about 45 min away in freehold, and it has a very good fishing area, it has atleast 12 aisles just for lures, plastics, terminal tackle, line, etc. and that doesnt even count the rod section, but it still like BPS just because they have everything you could need, but then again my closest BPS is like 2.5 hours away, i mostly use TW
  20. i would have to pick Edwin Evers, being a fellow oklahoman, i think it would be a blast. my second would be Ike, he just looks like he would be really fun
  21. it is always time to fish a fluke!!!
  22. any of the combos they sell at basspro are a good place to start, i bought a kvd signature series setup that was originally $200 on sale for a $100 and it has worked out great for my first bc rig ever, and i have been fishing for over 20 years with only spinning gear
