  1. well I did it again last night, picked up a Lews BB1 cranking reel, some TW shirts, hat, and reel covers. all in all since thanksgiving I've probably spent close to $500 plus on fishing gear... my wife is not too pleased with me
  2. hollow body frog to watch and anticipate, most fish caught would have to be a lipless
  3. lets just say that I am well stocked on crankbaits, jigs, cavitrons, and soft plastics...plus I got a new cranking rod for half off
  4. if my wife found out I would be screwed: Castaway crankbait rod (got it 1/2 price), $70 worth of bandit squarebills, cavitrons, and some jigs from Cabela's, another $50 worth of jigs and cranks from overstockbait.com, and just this morning I bought some split rings, pliers, and lucky craft cranks...all in all in was like $250 plus and that is just within the last week
  5. being deployed really sucks, im missing out on some prime fishing, but its not all bad I did pick up some Castaway rods.
  6. i have one on my 6'8" mh *** and its a combo made in heaven
  7. red and gold River2Sea squarebill 3/8 oz on a 6'6" quatum accurist w/ kvd 6.4:1 BC
  8. I love pitching, frogs, and lipless cranks
  9. I see that your wife has a Pitt State shirt on in one of those pics, that's a weird coincidence my cousin plays on the Pitt State football team.
  10. mine's the exact opposite, my wife is all aboard with fishing, its my kids that are the issue, I mean they're only 3 and 5 so their attention span isn't very long
  11. happy birthday, I just might have to get me some more of you fantastic jigs now
  12. I like Trokar and VMC, but the VMC weedless wacky rig hook is horrible
  13. Try looking at the rainsuits by STORMR, they are on the expensive side but they are really nice and have really good reviews
  14. I have the tech spec elites(blue ones w/micro guides) in the 7' MH spinning, and the 7'3" MH casting and both of these rods are awesome, great feel and light weight, if you want a quality rod for some small change get one you wont be sorry
  15. Chrome and blue trap pumping the rod with a steady retrieve, I've caught at least twenty in the last two weeks on this, my trap has some awesome battle scars
  16. use it all the time too, find all kinds of new ponds and lakes around me
  17. they're topwater is really good, casts a mile and has really good action, and if you get the blue and chrome one its really good for the trout up here(not that I fish for them), caught a couple plus a ton of blow ups
  18. I agree with smokinal, get a good reel something at least $80+ if you don't you will only be hurting yourself.
  19. same thing here, love the world fishing network
  20. I try to go fishing at least three times a week, I get out at 2:30 and I don't have to pick up my kids til 6:00 on two of the days that I work so I go fishing till a quarter after five those days then I have one day all to myself while they are in school and that day is like heaven I get to fish from 7:00 a.m. till 5:15 p.m. I have about ten ponds on base that I frequent and five or six different lakes within 20 minutes, winter is startin to close in here in jersey though so there may not be a whole lot of time left to fish
  21. rage craws, d-bombs, and game hawgs
  22. had the same problem, get a longer heavier rod, some braid and trim the legs and you'll be haulin in some whoppers in no time
  23. I broke down and went to DSG and bought a F&S Tech Spec Elite 7' MHF spinning rod, its really nice I already had the 7'3" MHXF casting rod and I like it a lot so I decided to grab a spinning setup and so far it works really well, plus it looks good with the blue blank and the micro guides
  24. after reading all the replies on here, I guess what I carry would seem like over kill to all of you, but here it goes....I carry a Camelbak BFM, its one of the biggest ones they make and it is very expensive($275+) but I got mine issued to me, anyway this thing is massive and can carry a ton of gear depending on how you configure it here's my load out: 2 3600 plano boxes 2 thin 3700 boxes 1 3500 tackle system(the little one from bps with 5 350 cases in a bag) 1 large zippered toiletry bag for soft plastics (this thing can hold a ton of plastics) rain jacket and then all the extras: pliers, line, etc. since its a camelback I don't have to carry water bottles, just fill up the bladder and you good to go I know I carry more than I should but I don't mind the pack is comfortable and im used to carry it, is this setup for everyone? No. but I just wanted to let you guys know what I carry. Good luck.
