Fishing One Day With Any Pro, Who Would It Be And Why

Featured Replies

Who do you think could teach you the most for your type of fishing or who might be the most fun. If you could fish a day with any pro who would you choose and why?

Would have loved to learn from Uncle Homer, rest his soul.

Today, current pros, Edwin Evers, Shin Fukae.

I like both of these guys for their techniques, Shin would be great teaching Japanese finesse techniques, Edwin, a lot of the other stuff.

I think I'd be numb if it were KVD. He's so good, so fast, I don't know how much I could learn, in one day, LOL.

Mike Iaconelli. He's a trip to watch.

I would also go with shaw grisby. There is something about IKE that also makes me want to learn from him and its the fact that he is always innovating. I would hate if he started screaming because since I was a kid I was taught to be stealthy.

I would say Rick Clunn. He's a super smart fisherman, a good teacher, and he is known for his mental approach to fishing. That's an area where I could improve.

My close number two is Gerald Swindle. His style is much like mine and he is one of the funniest guys to ever get in a boat! That would be a lot of fun. Shaw and Denny are next. They are just legends.

I notice nobody answered with KVD. Do we all assume that he would be too busy.. Lol

That would be a recipe for heart failure for an old guy like me....lol

Hootie

Ike, would be awesome. I don't really care for the antics, but I think he TEACHES more than anyone out there and the amount you would learn would be a lifetimes worth.

I would also really enjoy Mark Rose, that man has the TN River chain flat pegged.

Well, I have had the privilege of fishing with a lot of guys on this forum and would

like to fish with all of you! I guess BIG O is the only professional I have fished with.

I think my next three choices would be Fish Chris, Dwight Hottle and George Welcome.

Mike Iaconelli - He quiet the character and I enjoy his teaching methods.  Besides I am a fan of finesse tactics and he is one of the best.

Gerald Swindle a close second.  Would have me probably laughing more than fishing but it's all good.

If i could fish with Anyone it would be Jerry Mckinnis.  His show the fishin' hole was the one show i would watch as a kid about fihsing and he always looked like he was having so much fun no mater the species.  I can learn a lot from the pros but i don't tournament fish or have a boat to run and gun across a lake so it just isn't as appealing to me.

Another one would be Doug Hannon.  i remember watching him scuba dive to observer tha bass and i thought that was such a great approach.

As far as pros go it would be Rick Clunn or Paul Elias since they both have been around forever and are still winning and competing at a high level.

hank parker, living. if we could include dead , harold ensley, the fishermans freind

I dated his daughter in high school. He never invited me fishing or hunting.

I don't think he liked me!

I'm actually going to say anyone or more members from here Bass Resource!! Allot of the members give excellent advice and I can pretty much talk to them most daily so it would be nice to fish with other members who I highly respect.

That's a hard choice to make with all the variety and years of expertise out there, but since I am an avid kayak angler and fish out of a Hobie, the obvious choice would be Hank Parker, Sr. His episode on Hank Parker Outdoors back in 2008 using Hobie kayaks to get closer to the hidden and hard to reach spots is the reason I own a kayak today.

A close second would be Rick Clunn just for the knowledge and third would be Roland Martin just because he also fishes saltwater as do I. If the freshwater bite was off, I know I could talk him into making a run down to the Chesapeak Bay for some saltwater action.

Aaron Martens. Just love his style, his attention to detail and his passion. Have learned a lot from watching him over the years. Not to mention IMHO he is the 2nd best angler on the planet.

Bill dance for sure...because he is very versitile with his techniques and hes been around a while so he's knows all the tricks

Given an opportunity to fish with anyone on the Pro level would be a treat.  If I had a choice KVD or E2.

Don't know if he's a pro so much as a "celebrity" but Mark Zona might be fun to fish with (if he stays on his meds). jk

Zona would be a blast!

Russ Lane, to learn some of his crankin' skills.
