Abu Silver Max Or Shimano Caius
I'm going to get a new reel pretty soon. I've already started a couple threads about this but I've just now started to consider the caius. I had never been big on Shimano (only used older models or the cheaper models) until recently when someone gave me a Shimano Symetre 4000 fh while on vacation. I don't want to go into details but if Dillon or Max are reading this I want them to know how much that meant to me. I've been looking at the silver max because it has 5 more pounds of drag, but it's not a deal breaker. I don't ever even use 10 pounds of drag.

A Good Bluegill Rod?
I use a 6' bass pro micro lite glass ($20) and a daiwa d-spin 500 ($15). Works great for the light use it sees.

They're good when they run true. I bought a pack and only one ran true. Caught dinks on it.

Trade Off Of Fluoro And Braid
I think it's better to spool up with a fluoro main line than braid with fluoro leader. Your line strength will only be as strong as your leader so that outweighs the strength factor of braid. A spool of braid and fluoro leader cost more than a spool of a good fluoro main line. The leader only adds something else to break, but you need it for some techniques. A good fluoro is really sensitive so I think that outweighs the braid for it's sensitivity. I do think that you need braid for a lot of techniques though. Like fishing in heavy weeds and frog fishing. But I wouldn't use a fluoro leader. Disclaimer: Braid with fluoro leader is good for drop shoting heavy cover.

Is This Good Gear For A Beginner?
This is exactly what I was thinking, but I didn't want to say anything. I figured I expressed how overrated braid is by now.

Is This Good Gear For A Beginner?
In my opinion you picked the best all around gear ratio, rod length, and action.

Would This Be A Good Combo For 3/16-1/4 Texas Rigs And Weightless Super Flukes
Sorry for the misunderstanding. It's a technique specific rod that is recommended for light worms. It's medium power and fast action.

Advise On What To Use These Setups For?
By the way copoly=copolymer. I'd recommend either pline voltage or cxx. If you get mono I'd use the new Berkley trilene XT.

Because the vendetta is for some crankbaits and topwaters it would be the best for some mono to help you keep from ripping the lure away from the fish. Fluorocarbon is the least visible line, sinks the fastest, and depending on who you ask stretches less than mono second to braid. The problem with fluoro is because it sinks it can't be used for topwater, really expensive, and you have to be a lot more careful with your knots or they heat up and get really weak. Copoly is basically mono except that it sinks a little slower than mono, much more sensitive, good knots, and less stretchy which results in more powerful hooksets. You can get a fluoro coated copoly, which is cheaper than 100% fluoro. I recommend copoly over fluoro or fluoro coated because I don't really like either. Copoly is as cheap as regular mono. A lot of guys have a hard time using braid on Texas rigs.

I have a 6'6 medium heavy I use for heavy weeds.

I would ditch the braid except for on the spinning and heavy rod. Put mono on the vendetta and add topwater to the list. Then put either a copoly or fluoro on the veritas and you're good to go.

New Rod & Reel
I'd find a penn spinfisher 450 or 460 ssg. I have one that I use for inshore fishing. It's too heavy for lake fishing, but it would be ok for river fishing. You can get one for about $60. Spool her up with 12 pound trilene XT and it would do just fine. Pick out your choice of rod. I use an ugly stik lite, but only since I don't use it much. You'll probably want something nicer.

Would This Be A Good Combo For 3/16-1/4 Texas Rigs And Weightless Super Flukes
I'm really planning on getting this combo for 3/16-1/4 texas rigs, weightless super flukes, and maybe some weightless senkos if I ever fish one again. It's an All Star Team rod 7' medium fast light worm rod and an Abu Silver Max. I just want a second opinion on it. What do y'all think?

When To Fish A Craw, Lizard, Worm, Etc.
I've really only used a craw during the spawn. I guess I should start throwing them more often.

Why Does My Power Pro Keep Twisting?
Ok. Do you think #20 is a good size? #15 seems too small for my taste, just the diameter. What swivels do you recommend?
