Looks like a BPS XPS Minnow to me.
  2. What ever you do, don't put a cane thumper on a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce on a wobble head when the bass are feeding on shad in deep water...
  3. I started thinking that I maybe had enough rods for a second the other day... but then I decided that I'll go buy a new rod for my T3B tomorrow.
  4. Man I very rarely pay full price for hardbaits. Just look around the next time you're at Academy or Sportsman's or whatever. I just about always find something marked down SUPER cheap. Then I just buy a buch of the same lure if I think they'd be pretty good. I've even resold the "hot" lures to guys during our club tournaments!
  5. I haven't seen/heard anything about the swimming dinger, but I'm curious about them now. The closest thing to a swimming senko I've ever used was a Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm. I've got a pack of the mighty bugs and one pack of the Houdini shads left. I hope that they bring the Houdini heads back, and maybe the mighty bugs while they're at it. Lol. I'll always keep a pack of Yamamoto Senkos in Green Pumpkin in my bag but I only bring them out when I can't buy a bite. Most of the time I'm using the Big Bite Baits version. Here's a tip for saving even more money with the Big Bite's version. Buy the big 35 count "Pro Packs" Gander Mountain (Big Bite Baits makes all the Gander baits) when they're on sale, and just use them to refill the little 10 count bags when you run out. That way you save even more per bait than buying the standard size bags, and you can save room by taking only the amount that you need and not carrying around the big heavy pro packs.
  6. Just curious, is this just bass or does the same go for the snakeheads and peacocks I see you catching in some of your videos?
  7. No kidding!!! I have just enough that it makes it hard to organize in a 3600 box!
  8. I wish my crankbait box looked like y'all's. Lol. Mine's a little pitiful at the moment...
  9. ...by the way it doesn't matter how many crankbaits you have if you still can't catch a fish on them.
  10. When I first started fishing sort of serious I replaced all the cheap prespooled line on my reels with the Cajun. Then as I got more and more serious about the sport I started trying new lines I realized that there were other lines that fit my needs more so than the Cajun. The memory wasn't the biggest issue with me. I mean beck I use untreated P-Line CXX on most of my casting reels and it coils up like a wire. Their just wasn't enough redeeming factors for me to over look the memory IMO. Cajun is fairly stretchy and only has decent abrasion resistance. I've settled on CXX because it's a strong as an ox and it takes 400 grit sandpaper before it even starts to fray.
  11. Certainly not $5 a pack! Lol.
  12. They're also offering the Christie Creature and Christie Craw (one of my favorite jig trailers), but they've been available at Walmart for about a year now. The Christie Craw has little paddles on the end of each pincher that really move a lot of water. They almost look like a double tail grub when you drag them or on the fall.
  13. Well, today while browsing the soft plastic isle of the local Academy, I stumbled across what I believe will be three productive new baits by Yum. The first was the new Bad Mamma. It's a really cool flipping/beaver style bait. The first thing that drew me too it was the fairly unique shape it had. The claws are a good bit larger than most other 4" beavers. None of these baits are impregnated with salt or any kind of scent, and they're all VERY oily. The lack of salt made me nervous about these beaver style baits at first, until I realized how it made the claws float up. It gives it a very good looking defensive posture in the water (or atleast the sink where I tested it ). Smother the bait in some crawfish scented Megastrike and you'd never even notice the lack of scent, and the bass will hold on much longer than they would even if it had salt. They come in an 8 pack. Here's a picture of the Bad Mamma compared to a Sweet Beaver. (Bad Mamma in Green Pumpkin and the Sweet Beaver in Watermelon/Green Pumpkin) The next bait I saw was their new soft plastic jerkbait the Break'N Shad. It has a slightly smaller profile than the previous Houdini Shad (which I assume it's replacing). I was very surprised to find that this lure also laced salt. I mean we probably fish a soft jerkbait weightless 90% of the time, and what good is a weightless lure that doesn't sink? While the lack of salt is certainly a negative, a side effect of it is that it almost has the action of a floating worm. If you like to walk the dog with your fluke style baits, then this I highly recommend this lure (or at least based on what I saw in the swimming pool), but this certainly won't be replacing my Super Flukes or Caffeine Shads. It's just like any other fluke style bait when used with a light keel weighted hook, but I'm really looking forward to using it on a Carolina rig or a Scrounger head. They come in a 10 pack. Here's a pic compared to a Zoom Super Fluke. (Break'N Shad in pearl white and Zoom Super Fluke in bubblegum). The final lure I saw, which I regret not buying, is the new Swurm. I don't really know how to describe this one, but I think it's comparable to a Sluggo. Their is a 4-3/4" model and a 6-1/4" model. It's rounded and has one big yellow eye painted on top, but it's completely flat on the bottom. This makes me excited about using it as a Carolina rig bait. I think the flat bottom and lack of salt would make it hover and dart off the bottom when ever it's dragged across the bottom. I also could see using weightless as a soft jerkbait, or as a large dropshot or powershot lure. I'm sure it's apparent do nothing action would be good on a scrounger head. They don't offer it online, but the solid white color I saw in the store was the one I look forward to trying the most. Both sizes come in a 7 pack. Here's a pic I found online.
  14. If you feel as if you can have the best lure for the any condition that you're faced with by using only one brand, then that's fine. Please continue to do so. No skin off my back. I'll just be more a more effective angler by keeping my brand loyalty at a minimum and using what ever lure will produce the most and best quality fish at the moment. Edit: I mean no disrespect to any other members on this forum, and I'm certainly not targeting this post at one individual specifically. I'm just saying that it's silly for anyone to think that they're being the best angler they possibly can by putting brand royalty over results.
  15. But some of us can still make out the picture on the puzzle if a piece or two is missing.
  16. Shhhh!!! You weren't supposed to tell people that!!!
  17. I was about to post that same vid! It's a good thing you did so that I don't have too!
  18. A higher end Daiwa would probably have the most room for upgrades though.
  19. That's a good line for that deep diver in your avatar!
  20. I got some fishing shirts, a pair of the H2O pliers with the sheath and lanyard (which is a big deal for me, considering that Chickamauga has claimed 3 pairs of my Craftsmen pliers), a bunch of other clothes, some lightweight rain gear, a few gift cards, and a Pflueger Supreme 30.
  21. Not only with flukes or paddle tails! I boil all kinds of baits! I really got into the new Yum Christie Craw's this year, but I had to boil about every pack I got. I want my baits to run the same every time. I think if my plastic is straight, that's one less thing I can blame the lack of fish on! Lol.
  22. Man you should've seen Walmart today! It was so crowded that some lady actually got knocked over and broke her ankle! Academy actually hasn't been very bad this year though (knock on wood).

  24. If the bluegill was so big that the bass couldn't get it down and it got stuck, then it would kill the bass because he would starve to death because he couldn't eat. Like in this video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tm7dHAkdB9c.
