  1. 5bass dropped me off around 7, he should be home by now. Will sort through my photos (only took around 300) and post a few random shots later. I got some stories to tell on ol' Medium Mike. Actually, I got stories on everyone. I'm stealthy like a cat!
  2. The worst thing about using a toothpick or a rubber strip is that it causes the weight to be off-center from the bait.
  3. IMO, they are better than Crucials.
  4. Wind picked up again today, made for a somewhat fun ride back across the lake in 5bass's Gambler. Why do I pack sunscreen and never use it? I got 6 or 7 bites today, hooked two of those and got broken off once. 5bass started the day with a nice 3 pounder, then never broke 1.5 lbs. the rest of the day. He did outcatch me by a factor of at least 8 to 1. However, I did manage to d**n near bury his truck in the mud at the ramp. :-[
  5. Drag & drop is the only way I transfer my photos.
  6. Great dinner tonight thanks to Speedbead. He put a ton of work today and it turned out great. Also thanks to Deb for making a dessert that was just too d**n good. I ate way too much and am feeling pretty darn sick right now.
  7. I didn't even touch one of those things. That said, his rod locker is now full of Shimanos.
  8. Reformat the card using the camera.
  9. cart7 and I had a nice rough ride up the lake this morning. Main lake was capping, waves were probably 3-4' in the main channel. I don't think I've ever had a colder boat ride. We dinked around for the morning. Only fish of note was a 15-16" crappie (croppie if you live around here, right Bud? ) cart caught on a Pointer. I canght a couple, he caught a great many dinks and a super dinky white bass. We came in a little while ago, d**n near frozen to the bone. The lake has calmed a bit, but the wind is still pretty wicked.
  10. I haven't watched the show, but usually The Bassmasters features footage from the first couple of days during the early part of the program. Perhaps VanDam had boat troubles and had to switch boats.
  11. That's one, too bad I only got to see about 2/3 of an inning.
  12. It was great to meet you Paul. Thanks for coming to visit!
  13. Senko77 just rolled into town and right into a big BS session in the lobby. Great dinner tonight courtesy of roadwarrior, great presentations by Big-O and JJ of JJ's Magic. Big-O spilled the beans on the newest Rage Tail baits. Hope they perform as good as they look. Cold, windy, rainy and snowy today. I did get a chance to show Jimzee and 5bass how to catch fish though. ;D
  14. Blackmail? He was sitting beside me when I posted it... ;D
  15. It has been fun to meet a few people.
  16. Watching boats jump that thing's wake was quite the entertainment.
  17. 5bass and I drove all night, rolled into the lodge this morning around 6, didn't have a room yet, so we hit the lake. As soon as we launched, the lodge called and said they had our room ready. Went fishing anyway... Water got a little rough and we're quite tired. Boated a few fish, nothing special... :-X I've been up for 25 hours. It is worth it.
  18. Just talked to Jimzee, they got their camp set up and they're getting ready to hit the water. Count count counting down the hours....
  19. I guess I'm partially to blame for the bad weather Sun/Mon. On the two big trips I took last year, I brought snow to Guntersville and a tornado to Russell. If I wasn't going, it would be sunny and 70 every day for the next week.
