  1. That's alright, I'm bringing my own baitshop. :-[
  2. Of the photos I've posted thus far, all but one have been snapped by myself. The above photo was taken with a Fuji FinePix S5000. Pretty much everything else I've posted was taken with a Canon Powershot A720is.
  3. Bought ammo lately? I've checked three different WalMarts in the area, their ammo shelves are mostly bare. What they do have is about 75-100% higher than it was four or five years ago. Checked the local hunting/fishing robbery joint earlier today, they had a decent selection, but their prices are 20-30% higher than what you'll pay elsewhere. That said, they did have Blazer 22LR for $2.30/50 rounds. Well, the key word is they DID have it in stock. I bought all 2000 rounds they had in stock. Wish they would have had another 1000 rounds on the shelf. Swung by WM to pick up some odds and ends for the Roadtrip, they had 1000 rounds of CCI MiniMag, so I cleaned them out of that as well. :-[ Just wish I would have bought more 223 and 9mm back when it was cheap. When I bought my first AR, I could get 55 gr Wolf for $100/500 rounds. Now I'll pay $200 for those same 500 rounds. 38 Special is outrageous. Kind of glad I didn't buy that 270 WSSM a couple of years ago as that stuff is going for $45 a box now. Main regret is that I didn't stock up on primers and powder a couple of years ago. Reloading supplies are hard to come by these days. :-X
  4. Navionics HotMaps usually run $100 or so per region.
  5. IMO, I don't think you'll find a better rod for $150 or less.
  6. I hate cork and I hate the seat threads even more. Would be nice if Shimano would have taken the Cumara casting seat and flipped it upside down for the spinning seat. The Carrot Stix shows promise, but the handle is too thick right at the seat. It's a good thing I rarely fish a spinning rig.
  7. UnderArmour already in the suitcase.
  8. Does anyone make a truly great seat for a spinning rod? I've yet to try a spinning rod that features a comfortable reel seat. The Crucial drop-shot seat isn't all that bad, probably the best I've tried thus far. Thought I would like the Carrot Stix seat, but it just doesn't feel all that good. Tried the Cumara, didn't care for it either. Why is it that casting rod seats have progressed over the years, but the spinning seats are all teh suck.
  9. Trying to keep the tackle to a minimum. You guys think 50 lbs. of plastics will be enough? Hope 5bass has enough room in the truck for 10 rods and a Viking stove box full of junk.
  10. Must be a manufacturer specific product. No sign of it on this laptop.
  11. Nah, my tastes are a little more sophisticated.
  12. Late March = late spring? :-?
  13. You can roll out the red carpet for me and make sure I have two bottles of Dom on ice in my room.
  14. Wish you would have posted that about a week or so ago. Now I gotta run to the tackle shop instead of getting it from my enabler.
  15. And you call yourself a man...
  16. Secure lid Toss in trash Buy something that works Open up a reel that has had Hot Sauce applied to the bearings/gears. The stuff turns black within 6 months of application. I serviced a PT1171 back in the winter, expected to see red bearings and gears. Instead I saw black. There are much better lubricants on the market. Shimano or Daiwa oil are two of the best.
  17. That's what I figured.
  18. I shall offer Medium Mike none of my respect. Won't be the same without you.
  19. SoHo is crap for me. We've got a tournament there next month, so I guess I'll get a lesson in teh suxxor. If you're so high on SoHo, you can mark a map for me next weekend.
  20. Rod stays horizontal, moves from 11 to 3.
  21. You have to thread the crank through the brush. When you feel the crank coming up on a limb, slow down and help it through the mess.
  22. I'm down to a box and a half of Thin Mints and a half gallon of Thin Mint ice cream. Going to be a long long long year. :-[
