  1. Wrong type of telescopic rod.
  2. I haven't seen that in 20 years.
  3. To aid in transport/storage. Not many rod lockers can handle a 7'6 rod.
  4. Yes, a clue is definitely needed. :-X
  5. I never said I shaved with it, just that it is sharp enough to shave. Nothing but a Mach III or a Fusion touches my face and cabesa.
  6. If you can find the fish, South Holston and Boone are prime locations for swimbaits. Boone has become quite the swimbait hotspot over the last couple of years. While the change in smallmouth regulations last year have ticked off more than a few tournament boys, we should be catching 20"+ smallies over the next couple of years. I know we had a ton of 17 3/4" smallies caught last year.
  7. When it comes to flouro, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you desire a 'soft' line, then the abrasion resistance isn't going to be there. The opposite is also true. Trilene 100%, IMO, offers the best compromise of any flourocarbon line on the market.
  8. I should hope it is a marine deep cycle. Group 24, 27, 29. Look at the label on the top of the battery. If it is a 29, then it has a 24 month warranty. 18 month free replacement, 19-24 months pro-rated. If the terminal was 'always wet with acid', then why didn't you return it immediately for a replacement?
  9. Started leaking? Sounds like it froze. How old is the battery and what group is it?
  10. I've never been more than two rows from the field down there.
  11. That knife is sharp enough to shave.
  12. So you fish spider silk that measures in around 0.0000001" and has a breaking strength of 50 lbs.? The diameter of PLine CXX isn't all that different from other manufacturers comparable products. PLine CXX 10 lb. - 0.014" Berkley Trilene 100% Flourocarbon 10 lb. - 0.012" Sufix Elite 10 lb. - 0.012" Yo-Zuri Hybrid 10 lb. - 0.012" Silver Thread AN40 10 lb. - 0.011" PLine 10 lb. = anyone else's 20 lb.? :-? If your 20 lb. test is 0.014" in diameter, then it isn't worthy of the rating.
  13. Please define 'somewheres around $100'. $100 +/- $20? $100 +/- $30?
  14. Ok, finally took the time to process the final few photos for this series. Bearings are clean and have been dried using Kimwipes and canned air. **** and span One drop of oil per bearing from a needle oiler. Handle bearing oiled and back on the handle. The finished product. I apologize for not taking more photos and taking so long to post what I did. Kind of hard to take photos of the reassembly with just two hands.
  15. A schematic for a Cardiff 300? Probably the most simple reel you own. ;D
  16. These are the hooks... http://www.xcaliburtackle.com/tackle_treble.asp Split rings are just an average every-day split ring. I would suggest replacing the split rings with Lucky Craft #2 Lucky Rings and the hooks with Owner ST-36. If memory serves, the xr50 comes with a #4 on the front and a #6 on the back.
  17. What is there to jeopardize? Turn the thumbscrew on the crank sideplate, remove palm sideplate. Remove spool. Schematic is available here http://www.abugarcia.com/product_schematic.php?search=Revo+S&id=226.228.1695&search_submit=Search+%3E%3E
  18. I don't know whether to ;D or :.
