I was a huge comic book nerd in the mid 80s/early 90s, but I had never heard of this series until last summer when I saw the movie trailer. Finally located a copy of the graphic novel last week, finished it today. Perhaps I went in with too many expectations, but I found myself disappointed by the book. The story built and built, but flopped towards the end. With what I've seen in the trailer, the film looks to be quite true to the story, which IMO is what makes a comic book movie. I'm planning on watching it next week, but I can't say that I'm too excited about it. If anything, reading the book made me anticipate the film quite a bit less.
