What kind of line do you use for cranking?
Everything goes deeper. CXX is strong and abrasion resistant. I wouldn't go below 10 lb. using any other line.

Under 18 and like free stuff? Take a guess!
Well, with a last second guess, congratulations go to MattStrykul. He guessed $331, the actual tally was $344.33. Now I gotta go sell some plasma to pay for the shipping charges.

Anything more relaxing than cleaning guns?
Spent about 4 hours tonight giving my children a bath. Russian ammo may be cheap, but is sure is d**n dirty. Ye olde Bushmaster runs on a steady diet of Wolf, don't know if I've ever seen that much carbon in a bolt. FWIW, Barnes CR-10 will sure as hell open your sinuses. Like having an ammonia ampule broken right under your nose.

Try it in a little lower light. Meter in a darker place, then snap the photo.

Game camera hard at work...
From the food plot pictured above. Made the mistake of taking TheBeast there last Saturday to help me put up a stand. Now I guess I'll have to put up some claymores and razor wire.

I'm Rich!!!
Tungsten + braid = lost sinker. Braid doesn't like hard objects and is about as abrasion resistant as a spider web. The only tungsten I've ever lost were while carolina rigging with braid. Not if you get the tungsten weights that have the inserts inside of them to protect the line from abrasion. The inserts contribute to the abrasion. The weight I lost was an Excalibur with the insert. The only quality tungsten weight on the market is the Tru-Tungsten.

Real or fake?
Yep, it was dead. Because all deer die with their legs sticking straight out. :

Weight isn't everything
All the swimbaiters... I've got quite a few swimbaits in the 3-5 oz. range. Those feel heavy, while a rod doesn't.

How does that alleviate the problem? That is unless you hate songbirds, squirrels, etc.

Weight isn't everything
Nope, analytical balance, was professionally calibrated about a week before I weighed both rods. They feel lighter than they actually are, but how many of us have frame of reference for 3-5 oz.?

Weight isn't everything
I think you misunderstood. Weight makes a big difference and is a primary selling point for me. I prefer light rods. What I'm saying is that while the LTX weighs 1.2 oz. more than the Carrot, it balances a little better than the Carrot. Adding one ounce or so to the butt of the Carrot would probably help a bit. The Carrot balances much better with a super-light reel like the Revo Premier. It was still just a hair tip-heavy, but not bad. Would really shine with a Steez. No, we're definitely not swinging sledgehammers, but weight does make a difference.

Weight isn't everything
Recently put a couple of rods on the scale. The results were interesting. The rods in question were a Carrot Stix LTX 6'9 MH-F and a Kistler Helium 2 LTX 6'9 MH-F. The Carrot weighed in at a whopping 3.5 oz. The Kistler was a block of concrete at 4.7 oz. Put a Curado 200E on each and the Kistler fishes much easier.

May have been the best thing about the Cubs making an early exit.
