  1. They are alternately scared and PO'ed.
  2. I heard the house creaking quite a bit around 5:30 this morning. Thought it strange at the time as there wasn't any wind.
  3. Yep, I truly hate Cincinnati. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080417-marty-brennaman-chicago-cubs-reds,1,6962881.mp3file
  4. If I invite someone, I do expect them to at least offer. Had a friendship nearly ruined because of a situation involving many fishing trips with no offer of any help on gas. >
  5. My only complaint with the reel is that hole-covered spool. I took that spool off and used the spare spool on mine.
  6. I tried them all earlier this year. The xCalibur xr50 and xr75 shined. The Spro Aruku Shad was a close second. The only modification needed for the xr50/75 is upsizing the rear hook. The 50 comes with a 6 in the back, the 75 a 4.
  7. No, but I'm getting those decals cut next week. ;D
  8. That looks like something I would do. Time to go kill a squirrel and retrieve my old toys from mom & dad's attic!
  9. After one day of fishing, I have to say the jury is still out. Very free spool, that much is certain. The drag is just plain sick. Even completely 'off', it is quite stout. Even more so than a Revo S. The mag brake is effective, but marginally so. I turned if off for a while, there was a minute difference between 1/3 on and completely off. The weight is the main selling point I guess. It is certainly light, almost too light IMO. The strange thing to me is that when it comes to wholesale prices, the Premier is only $16 more than the STX. :-/
  10. I bought it mail order. I'll give it a shot with 7" Mission Fish and see if it does any better with those. If not, I might throw a roll of duct tape and a couple of 1" nuts on the butt and use it for pitching jigs.
  11. Nope, not the same thing. Have you ever fished a shakey head?
  12. They're still made. http://www.***.com/softbaitbrand.html?ccode=STRIKE
  13. He wouldn't have caught that fish if not for me. We were in my canoe.
  14. Bought a 7' HXF last week. Very pleased with the weight of the rod, handle is a bit short for a 7' rod. Threw a Revo Premier on it and tied on a C-rig. Fished it more than any other rig yesterday, have to say I'm pretty d**n disappointed with the rod. It's about as sensitive as a piece of rebar. I've got a hella-heavy Fenwick Venture 7' MH that feels better than the PQ. And that's with braid on the Premier and either a 3/4 oz. or 1/2 oz tungsten weight. If anything, it's a Pro Disqualifier. Now relegated to the scrap heap of rods in the corner.
  15. Hmmm, in the last two years I think you've gotten me twice. 8-)
  16. Trumpet Baritone Tuba Guitar Mandolin Piddled with the trombone, clarinet, accordian, and banjo.
  17. Pigs like that don't come every day.
  18. Yep, I finally went fishing. Nice day, but windy. Threw everything but the kitchen sink at them. That hawg was the only thing that bit. Well, that and a salamander that decided it wanted to make whoopee with a LC SKT Mini DR. ;D
  19. 1/2 oz. white jig
  20. You don't need a car like that.
  21. Golf requires a great deal of time and patience. Play 3x per week and within a year you'll be within 5-7 strokes of par. Fishing....well, I ain't got that far yet.
  22. I figured out where you got all your wisdom and advice last night when I finished reading last months BassMaster and the Mark Davis article. Guess that'll teach me to read through them faster. I haven't read an issue of Bassmaster in 2 or 3 months. 'nuff said?
  23. Good thing I'm never in A-town.
  24. I'd like to give Zona a rap on the Jack Johnson.
