Shimano Reel Rebates Not Received
Geez, what did you expect, one day turnaround? It even says on the bottom of the rebate form, 'Allow 4-6 weeks to process the request'. You say it's been 'nearly 6 weeks', then say that you got your delivery receipt 'about 4 weeks ago'. Which is it? I would imagine they have been swamped over the last month, especially in light of Tackle Warehouse's closeout on the Curado and Citica.

Fishing trips, gas, and you
How are the $3.50+ per gallon prices for gasoline affecting your fishing habits? Are you staying closer to home, fishing the smaller lakes? Or do you not care? Willing to pay whatever it takes to spend a day on the lake?

Cajun fishing line
The 8, 10, and 12 were junk. Glad I bought small spools, didn't lose so much when I tossed them into the dumpster.

Shotgunners
I've not shotgun shopped in years, but that price still sounds high. Then again, I'm thinking back to the days when an 870 was $175 and an 1187 was $380 at Wally World or K Mart.

I finally discovered the blessing called "braid"!
I do not understand the braid hype. More sensitive? Than what, anchor rope? Every brand of braid I've tried has been disappointing. I keep listening to the hype from threads like this one. Each time I come away ticked off that I spent $20 on a spool of line that was used for three or four trips.

Shotgunners
:-X Did you even look at eBay before posting that? Had you done so, you would know that guns are verboten on eBay. Gunbroker is a good starting point, as is the Equipment Exchange at AR15.com.

Official BR.com Movie Review thread
No Country for Old Men - Very well done although a bit too close to the Fargo formula. Bardem made a terrific heavy. Dan in Real Life - Decent chick flick. Kept waiting for Carrell to bust out the 'That's what she said!' line. Breach - A little too slowly paced, Chris Cooper did his usual great job.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
Man, Pittsburgh should just fold to spare the rest of the league the pain of playing them. They haven't had a winning season since 92. Alright Dom, time for the Mess to see some real baseball!

Power poles?
http://www.powerpole.com/ They sell a 6' and an 8' model. I was thinking of purchasing one until I saw the price. They are quite proud of them.

Anyone else enjoy fishing in the rain?
Cold rain sucks. Went out this afternoon thinking the rain was over. Got in 30 minutes of dry fishing before the sky opened. Wouldn't have been so bad had I not left my bibs in the truck. Now the boat is completely soaked, will take two days for it to dry out. Therefore, I prefer to fish the rain in someone else's boat.

Gander Mountain?
I've only been in one of their stores (Greensboro) and it doesn't hold a candle to the Sportsman's Warehouse in Roanoke. High prices on everything from plastics to guns.

Where are we at in the spawn cycle?
Depending on your water temperature, the fish should be moving up. Should be able to find a lot of dinks shallow. With the full moon tomorrow, the first wave of spawners should be ripe for the picking this week. Again, this is very water temperature dependent. The cold front moving through today combined with a strong low pressure system centered in the Ohio Valley might push the water temps down a bit.

instruments anyone?
Marching band is what I miss most.

A history lesson all will find interesting!
Lead poisoning Nope, that was PASQUALE ROME, not the city you mook! The Romans used lead for everything. They even used lead acetate as a sweetener.

There goes an arm, leg, and half my...
I feel your pain. We dropped $150 in GA last month to fill up the truck and fill one tank on the boat. Times like these make me glad my boat only has a 12 gallon tank.

kneecap. $3.469 for regular unleaded here now. Cost me $50 to fill up my wife's car yesterday, wasn't that long ago that I could fill that thing up for $30. I foresee a lot of 50 acre fishing in my future.

- The Dinkmaster© Lives!
No, that was another night.- The Dinkmaster© Lives!
I thought we were in your big boat over at FP. Either way you get the credit for it since it was in your watercraft. It was night and I thought I had snagged a leaf and was trying to fling it off and I went to just grab it and....... That was a different time. That tiny bronzeback was caught in the river the day after the FP tourney. - The Dinkmaster© Lives!
