  1. Holy f'n resurrected thread Batman!!!
  2. Absolutely indispensible for mounting electronics.
  3. An hour spent at cubs.com has me ready for the season to start. Time for my annual Cubs Shop splurge.
  4. That is a pretty strong statement. I trust you have the experience to back that statement up. :
  5. The rebate does not apply to online auction purchases.
  6. They all have that smell. Coating with Megastrike and fishing for a day doesn't really alleviate the smell much either.
  7. :-? Man, I'm glad I can fish Shimano straight out of the box.
  8. That's what a plug knocker is for. 8 lb. PLine CXX will not 'snap'.
  9. I'm going right by there on Saturday. Probably stopping and getting some hooks. I can get them for you. We might have to cut a deal Sat. morning. I wish I would have thought about you last weekend. Went into a WM in GA that had the LFT weighted swimbait hooks.
  10. I don't trust them enough to even ask. I could get them quite easily, but I would rather order.
  11. So they send out two flyers this week. One a camping sale, in-store only. The other is a catalog/internet only spring fishing sale. The in-store flyer lists Lucky Craft Sammys as being buy 2 get 1 free. Catalog/internet? Nothing. I would have to buy 9 of them to break even on the gas it would take to get to the store. :-/
  12. What's the damage?
  13. So would you guys suggest 7'6" model instead of the 7' if I go with the glass? If you're throwing DD22's and DT16's on a regular basis, yes.
  14. All the time. Many do not put any thought into it.
  15. 16' is a deep diver. Go with glass. The longer the better.
  16. You want some cheese with that whine?
  17. We brought back a cooler full of largemouth and spot from Russell this weekend. When we fish Douglas, we always bring home a limit. There's a reason lakes have small size restrictions.
  18. Memory on the 8 lb? :-? I've had 8 lb. on a Flooger Supreme for the last two months, hadn't fished it at all until Saturday evening. Nothing more than usual memory.
  19. Some of you might remember my post about a 'friend's experiment about a month and a half ago. Well, it's time to reveal the secret. There was no friend. And the reel in question? I've spent a good deal of time throwing it over the last couple of weekends. I have to say that it is a nice reel. Don't know if it is as sturdy as the Japanese Shimanos, but it is a nice casting reel. Had I not stocked up on Citica 100's over the winter, I would probably be clearing my local Wal Marts of the Revo S. Comparing it to my gold standard (Citica 100DSV), I would give the nod to the Shimano in regards to: Fit, finish, and overall construction. I prefer the handle of the Revo. They're about even in terms of free spool and braking. Both will sling a senko about the same distance. IMO you can't go wrong with either.
  20. Biggest I picked up was just a bit bigger than a good aggie marble. Saw some golf-ball sized stuff at the ramp when we launched.
  21. Yes, but TT did not have the Trilene 100% flouro when they did their tests. IMLANSPO, the 100% Flouro is the best on the market. The XPS flouro is good stuff, but is more than a little prone to splitting/shearing. Regardless, one could do worse than to use either line. For the money (right now), I don't know if you can beat the XPS.
  22. When you spend as much time at campgrounds as I do, you learn to appreciate the cleanliness of a bath house. I've seen some doozies over the last couple of years.
  23. Better watch out. WV will probably get snow when I come up that way. :'( It's the least I could do.
