Bearing Recommendation For Chronarch 51E
My Grandfather used to say "little pitchers should be seen and not heard" - I like it..... Regarding bearing upgrade, I've sent my reels to Mike @ DVT and let him decide based on the condition of what I send him. Good luck with your choice.

Patriots Cheating Again, Of Course
Local sports radio up here said about the same thing, that both teams brought their own footballs and air pressure was checked before the game and half time. 'Course, Grampa Casey always said, "believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see."

Patriots Cheating Again, Of Course
Had the game been won by a single passing play during the heaviest rain of the night, there might be a valid argument. The final score was - er - 45 to 7. Even if B & B did it, what matter would it have made.... I'm gonna go with the majority and agree it's just someone just stirring up crap. Let's try to focus on the Superbowl, which might turn out to be one for the history books. The two BEST teams in football, both playing great ball.... no matter who wins, it's gonna be one heck of a game....

Dream Of Fishing ? Am I Alone ? Share Yours...
Can't say I have dreams about fishing, nor dreams of women out of my league or boats out of my price range (wife is stunning Filipina and I'd have to give up my motorcycles for a boat), but I DO dream of only working 1 job by my mid 50's so I CAN fish more .... At that point I'll get the boat.

Diawa Rod
I bought an Ardito to keep in my truck for those 'just-in-case' fishing stops. I've only fished it twice, but will say it feels like most of my other rods, whether they're 1 or 2 piece. Each piece has ribs around the contact points that make for good grip when putting it together. I haven't fished it enough to evaluate it's sensitivity. For now I'll put it somewhere between my Fenwick Silver Hawk and Abu Garcia Vendetta. I like the case, but wouldn't check it as baggage on any airline. The case also has an adjustable strap on it which I've used to fasten to my tackle backpack. Overall I'd say it's build quality is excellent and worth the $129.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
My comments aren't meant to encourage abuse of any privilege, and I very much appreciate the discount BPS offers. I see a lot of youngsters post on this forum, some of which comment that they're saving for college, and money's tight these days, so if they've got a family member or friend who can help them better their fishing experience, I wouldn't define that as abuse but the reason for my comments on such available discounts. I agree that using this privilege excessively is abuse, and wrong. Thanks for your comments.

How Much Do You Spend On Average A Year On Fishing ?
I'd have to say in 2013 I spent $250 or so. It was the first year I got serious about fishing and did it alone because my daughter reached the age where she was more interested in hanging with her friends than Dad. 2014 was a different story: 3 kayaks and more casting & spinning setups than I really need (plus associated tackle to go along with it) emptied my checkbook by a good $3,500 or more. So far 2015's only seen the cost of my sporting license. If I stay busy with side-work, my money will hopefully be spent on traveling to new waters to fish. Won't make any predictions on that cost right now.

I Like My Carrot Stix But There All Broken What Is My Alternative?
I've never fished Carrot Stix, but I own 6 Abu Garcias of all different types. My favorites are my Veritas: they're light and sensitive. I have a Villain, which is a little stiffer than the Veritas, and thus more sensitive. = I broke one in the tailgate of my truck and Abu sold me another one for their cost, plus shipping. Overall, great rods, IMO. Good luck finding replacements for your Stix.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
Why would you have a problem cutting a hole in your kayak? It's only a piece of plastic. Seriously though, I installed it in May, so it's been through a full season (a New England season, anyway.) without a leak. As far as the rubber cover goes, I used a gasket hole kit to punch a hole just big enough for the cable to slip through and made a little X so the transducer's connector could get through. No real need to do more than that. I used marine epoxy in addition to the stainless screws to fasten the flange to the kayak. Before I became a Firefighter I worked for Alpine Electronics where my job involved building custom audio systems for show cars and before that for a higher-end retailer. Modifying stuff is just my thing I guess.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
I really like mine, though my 128T is a pretty close 2nd. My Lure is easier to hoist onto my ladder rack too. Now that FeelFree has a 13.5 I might have to talk myself into selling my 128T and getting the big Lure....

The Road To The Super Bowl
Oh I know, but we've been so spoiled here in N.E. with championships in the last decade it's hard not to worry. Especially since the Pats are known to flop every so often..... Besides, I'm type A, and haven't had any beer yet....
