Got Snow?
We've had about 3' as of this morning and are expecting 12 - 18" tonight into tomorrow. I've got an 11 HP Ariens Snow Thrower and am running out of room & height to throw it on my property (6 - 7' tall piles where I can throw it). My lawn's going to look great in June, and pond/lake levels will be great..... I've spent every February day shift shoveling hydrants in my district. It makes for good review of their location.... Though remember - it's mid February - Just a few more weeks and snow turns to slush, the slush turns to water (and flooding on the coast, where I live) ... FISHING SEASON ISN'T FAR AWAY !!!!

A New Winter Hobby!?
I think my new winter hobby is snow removal. I'm banking good cash so I can work less this Spring and FISH MORE!

Lowrance 3Xvs 4X
X2 I bought the 4X last Summer for my kayak and find it's everything I need. Easy to use; good display; doesn't seem to draw much off my 24 amp/hr battery - it lasted most of the Summer on one charge.

Squirrel Fishing
I'm going to try it when the 6' of snow is gone from my back yard. I'm also going to make sure my cats are out in the yard with me. They'll need the exercise from being trapped inside all winter...

Winter Sucks
I last got out on December 26th, when we had a warm day of almost 50 degrees. Yeah, we already have three feet of snow on the ground and another foot or two coming in the next 36 hours or so, but we're also having a great ski season, so I don't think Winter sucks. I can't say I'm not jonsing for a day out fishing, but it's Winter, and I'm in New England.... I look at it this way: it's nearly the middle of February, so I'll be fishing again in roughly eight weeks..... It'll come soon enough...

Pq'r After Market Drag Set ?
I just got one of my PQ's back from Mike @ Delware Valley Tackle. He cleaned, tuned, and upgraded the drag. I didn't gain any noticeable distance (I'd already cleaned it when new, but the reel's smoothness is greatly improved. Money well spent.

5.56, 7.62, Or 300Blackout?
Do you know anyone with an AR in any of the calibers you're looking at, or are there any gun shops near you that have ranges you can test fire? Like fishing equipment, it's better to try out whatever it is you're looking to buy. I own a 5.56 AR and a SocomII in .308, I like the .308 better - just my preference. I didn't discover that until I owned both and shot them side by side. Best of luck with your decision.

X2 But seriously, I still have 16+ years until retirement, unless the city ups the retirement age, so I can't say every day, but I try to get out at least once or twice a week for at least an hour or two. I'm lucky I've got three ponds near me that I can stop at between jobs, shifts, taxiing swim meets and dance lessons. 2014 was a better year because I bought fishing kayaks for the family. I made sure to get out for 1/2 days when time allowed. Planning on 2015 being a better year....- Trusted Place To Send Bc For Cleaning?
Delaware Valley Tackle...... like everyone else said already! I've sent Mike 6 baitcasters so far (more to come) and his work & recommendations have been 110% worth it.... A couple reels had bearing upgrades & others drag replacements. All have had cleanings. Can't go wrong with Mike's work.- Tow Vehicle Mpg

I've got a Revo-SX too and sometimes suffer the same inconsistent backlashes. It casts great when acting 'normal'. I started paying close attention to my mechanics and came to the conclusion that the angle I held my wrist at was the problem - it seems to be finicky. I also find I have to adjust its brake more often when a swap out lures than other brands I own. Good luck with it.- American Sniper

Welcome, from Eastern Massachusetts, to the best fishing forum out there.- Tackle Box/bag
X2. I've had mine for three seasons now and it's held up great. Holds everything I need & then some. I sometimes ride my MTB and can carry 2-piece rods on it with little issue, as long as I remember how far they stick up above me when the trail gets tight.- I'm Becoming A Gear Head... Help!
Welcome to the DARK SIDE. In 2013 I fished with a 25 YO Shakespeare Sigma spinning combo & an entry level Bass Pro bait cast setup. Fast forward to current day: I've got 8 baitcast & 5 spinning setups of various manufacturers & sizes and 3 fishing kayaks (there are, you guessed it, three of us in the family). Your new addiction only means you're having fun while expanding your fishing talents. My only advice is spend within your means. My wife doesn't mind my 'habit' because I never buy anything until the mortgage/bills are paid and a specific amount saved for retirement & college assistance. Simply put, blame the Bassresource tackle monkey. Best of luck, and enjoy your purchases. - Speaking Of Petitions And The Super Bowl
