I didn't go that far down. I lost interest after an hour and a half. I do poorly at every pond I've fished with that kind of water. I'll give it that it was July 1st in the middle of the day, but even a wacky Senko wasn't working.

My trip with ReelNorthernBass is postponed, but boss lady signed my permission slip yesterday afternoon so I drove to Plymouth and fished a couple of my favorite ponds. 11 fish made it to the kayak and two didn't. Six white perch, four SMB, and one LMB. Most fish were between 1 1/2 & 1 3/4 pounds, including two perch. Larry was the big fish at 2.79. I threw a jig, chatterbait, whopper plopper, T-rigged Swim Senko, 4.3" Keitech, and all I needed was a perch Vision 110+1. The SMB fought hard, with a couple coming a foot out of the water. The perch did pretty good and the LMB, the biggest of the day, felt like a bag of potatoes I pulled off its Lazy Boy chair. Water temps were in the low 80's. HAH! I avoid the Cape like the wife's 'honey do' list this time of year for the same reason. I'll drive to Plymouth during the week, but won't hit the Cape until September.

I had some time this afternoon so I dropped into Wampatuck Pond, behind Hanson town hall, for the first time. Spent a couple hours there. It's 3' +/- deep, coffee w/milk colored, and the only vegetation were lili pads around the perimeter. The only signs of life were a turtle and blue heron. It reminded me a lot of Ames Nowell state park. Water temps were 82.x. I'm glad I brought my kayak and not Ranger.

Got out for the first time in two weeks ... 😑 ... to my home pond. Did pretty good. 5 LMB, three around 1 3/4 - 2 pounds and two dinks. A plum Zoom Ole Monster, 5" junebug Senko, and watermelon/red flake Bandito Bug did the trick. Water temps were 79.x - 80.x. I'm fishing with ReelNorthernBass in NH on Sunday, hoping to pick up some deep water tips. They're from NH and have a pretty good YT channel that streams live on Wednesday nights.

Congratulations on your truck. I hope it gives you many, many, miles. I’ve driven Toyota trucks for 25 years and have covered 600,000+ miles, combined, and have never repaired one. And so what if my ‘17 Tundra gets the same mileage as my ‘68 GS400 convertible.

Autcrossed it, traveled everywhere in it and traded it in with 165K on it with the original clutch. 1999 Toyota Tacoma. Toyota bought it back for $13K with 160+K miles. It had a bad frame. 2006 Tundra. Traded it because I saw an Inferno Orange Tundra on the dealer's lot one day. This one also had $160+K on it. 2017 Tundra. This is the inferno orange one. Keeping it until further notice. 1968 Buick GS400 convertible. 400/3-speed manual. 1 of 79. 82K miles. It's been restored and I'm continuing the journey. My daughter loves driving it. My bikes: 1988 Suzuki Katana 600. Wrecked it in an accident. 1995 Suzuki RF900R. Traded it for my BMW after 20 years of fun and reliability. 1997 Suzuki TL1000S. Traded this one too for the BMW, 2:1 deal. I wish I still had this one. 2007 BMW K1200S. Think of this one as a Milennium Falcon with factory bags and typical BMW fit/finish. Parts and service are brutally expensive. I discovered BMW really means BRING MY WALLET.

I fished Ames Nowell in Abington for the first time yesterday. Got one bass on a purple/green Bandito Bug. Water temps were 79.x. The employee at the gate said the State is treating the water to eliminate vegetation. The water was coffee brown and the little vegetation was brown/dead, except for lily pads near the islands. It's posted on the pole next to the path to the pond that for 60 days, starting 5/26/24, there is no swimming, fishing, boating, camping..... There were two others fishing from shore while I was there. Braintree did the same to Sunset Lake and Canton to Canton res. a few years ago. I've not caught anything of any size at either since. A second employee at Ames Nowell said he's talked to other fishermen since the water treatment and they told him there hasn't been a difference in fishing. Take it for what it's worth.

Fished Hingham for a couple hours this afternoon. Nabb'ed three and lost one LMB. Everyone was around 1.5#. A purple Senko and a black/blue/purple/brown jig from Siebert Outdoors did the trick. Threw a crankbait and jerkbait for a few but nobody was interested. All fish were tight to structure. Water temps were 75.x. It's finally Summer.

I often leave unrigged because I don't always know where I'm going until I hit the road. I'll rig up the night before if I know where I'm going.

Boy you use a lot of film!

In March 1976 I was bitten on the head by a German Shepherd. It was 45 minutes to the nearest hospital. I nearly bled out. In June 1991 I hit a car on my M/C at highway speed. My fault. In April 2005 I fell off a 12' A-frame ladder that resulted in an open skull fracture and a few other broken/fractured bones/vertebrae. The neurosurgeons told my wife/parents that if I lived, it was expected that I would need to learn to walk/talk/etc. all over again. I went back to the FD with Dr.'s blessing 3 months and 2 days after the accident. Lastly, in October 2022 I was at work and had really bad heartburn that wouldn't go away. Turns out it was a 95% blocked artery. I had a stent put in 12 hours after the medics discovered it. As an added bonus the surgical team hit me with the defibrillator while I was awake. I went into V-fib when they were moving the stent into place. Funny thing is that I've been an EMT for over 20 years and they don't teach 'heartburn' as an indication of a heart attack. Still here, and still kickin'.

Boss-lady and I spent the week in NH. I got to fish two days. Did pretty good for our first time fishing much bigger waters than I'm accustomed to. Grabbed a 3# LMB at one lake and 3 smallies, plus a SLAB of a crappie at the other. Water temperatures were high 60's - low 70's at the first one and all over the place at the second, ranging from high 50's to low 70's. I'm glad I bought the annual non-resident license.... I'm going back there more.

Pick’s are OK when the bass don’t play nice. I fished a big lake in Manchester yesterday with ‘boss-lady’. It was our first time there. I managed a 3.08# LMB on a LV500 and she got a little one on a wacky Senko. My Larry was skinny. Water temps were all over the place, low 60’s in one section and low 70’s in another. Is that the lake turning over?

I don't know if they did that, but all the beds I've seen in Plymouth / Cape Cod are empty and I've seen clouds of fry in a few waters.

I agree. There was nothing going on in Plymouth at a water I usually get something. I could have left my Lowrance off. Guess we can call it the post spawn blues ...

I dropped into one of my regular Plymouth SMB waters yesterday just before 0600, hoping for some topwater action since the weather was so beautiful. Turned out the weather was too beautiful. I threw a popper, whopper plopper, and Skitterwalk for the first couple innings. I continued to what's ususally a 'guaranteed' rocky point with a steep drop off and threw a jig, wacky senko, Keitech, jerkbait, crankbait, and lipless, but nobody was playing. I worked the whole perimeter and managed one LMB on the wacky Senko. I packed up after 3 hours. It was too 'bluebird'. I threw my jig tight to shore as as many trees/bushes as possible on the way back to my truck,but there were no takers. I saw a couple cruisers, who weren't interested. There were also clouds of fry on windblown banks. The turtles were also in full display, as well as a bald eagle. Water temps were 65.x when I arrived and 67.x when I left. I'm bringing my boat to NH next week. Hopefully mother nature will cooperate and I can get a couple good days out. Best of luck to everyone getting out this weekend
