First pic looks like 3. Second pic looks a little bigger. So im going with 3-3 1/2 I try not to judge the size of the fish according to how big it looks compared to the person because when its held out towards the camera it looks bigger. I try to judge the fish by how big their hand thats holding the fish looks compared to the fishs body.

It is 43,000 acres so im sure its size helps mask the chemicals. And also the water is constantly being pulled downstream but is has to have some effects on it. I have noticed while fishing that many of the properties have a lawn service spraying their yard and many of the yards are sharply sloped towards the water. Im sure it runs off into the water when it rains.

Im really excited about a new rage creature bait myself. Trying to decide which one i will use between this and the space monkey. They both have similar profiles being 4" with a football shaped body, small arms and bigger flappers on the end. The action on this new creature bait will be the deciding factor for me. They may have 2 totally different actions that will fill different roles. Here is a comparison picture.

Just because it is a large body of water doesn't mean that the fish will grow as large as the same size body of water in another region. I find plenty of large schooling smallies at my home lake (pickwick, TN) but the lake is known for giant smallmouth. I'd say the larger smallmouth in the lake probably do become more solitary but this may differ from lake to lake. If there are not large amounts of smallmouth 18"+ in your lake then chances are you aren't gonna find them schooling together.

I'd recommend a 1/2 oz jig. You can can fish it in any any depth water and you can drag it, hop it or swim it to find out what presentation is best. Good luck!

Here lately I've been having them blow up on my sammy and launch it into the air so I was thinking a smaller bait would be easier for them to fit in their mouth. I'm still gonna use my bigger baits too, I just like to offer different sizes to see if there is any finicky fish I can coax into biting.

What's the best walk the dog bait under 4" for smallies? I have a 100 sammy and similar 4" spooks but I am wanting to try something smaller. Zara puppy? Zip n ziggy? 85 sammy? Color preference? Thanks guys

Carolina rigged plastics, deep diving crankbaits such as the strike king 5xd 6xd and heavy jigs are your best bet.

I usually have to walk a long way where I bank fish so I usually use a fanny pack. Really makes you take only what you need.

If the fish are missing the bait a lot of times it means they are small. If they are getting it and your missing the hookset then make sure you are giving them time to take it under. Reel down, feel the weight of the fish then set the hook hard. I rarely miss fish on my trophy series scumfrogs doing this. Don't sweat the small bass who knock it around and don't take it.

I'm having trouble deciding between the duckett white ice 7'3" MH or the 7'3" H. Any suggestions? I will be throwing a 3 arm rig but not sure about the size/weight of the baits. Would the MH handle it?

Texas rigged lizard or roboworm

Wow I feel lucky, I only live about 15 min away. I'm looking at buying some better electronics soon. Right now Im using one that it so old it mainly only serves as a depth finder, kinda like a black and white Atari lol. Right now just using navionics on my phone and my depth finder I can find some ledges but I have no idea if fish are holding there or what the bottom consists of so I end up wasting a lot of time/gas. Have any recommendations for a fish finder under $500? Thanks for the advice

Mid lake as in the main river? Are you fishing the main channel ledge or somewhere else? I'm having trouble finding fish deep also.

I've thought hard about this and after seeing some awesome replica mounts I don't see any reason of ever killing a fish. I'd rather have peace of mind that I let the fish live to get even bigger and may give someone else the opportunity of a lifetime. Take measurements pictures and get a replica mount made that will outlast any actual mount and look better too.
