Scent and Elaztech
Does JJ's Magic melt Elaztech baits? What scent can be applied that does not melt Elaztech? Just curious and don't feel testing this out myself. So if anyone has experience with this, please share.

Dobyns Rod Power Confusion?
Get both. Pick up a 2 and 5 power while you're at it. Might as well get all the powers in shorter lengths while you're at it. Just kidding of course.

You Are Hung In A Tree? Pull Up To The Bank And Get It Or No?
I'll do whatever it takes to get a lure back. Several years ago I snagged a Sammy, went back to the spot the next week and cut off the offending limb with a pole saw. No reason to leave a perfectly good lure to waste away in a tree.

Favorite Emperor Rods
Has anyone ever used one of these? They look interesting and am curious to hear any user opinions.

Have You Heard Of The : "Free Rig" ?
Better yet, sinkers in various colors to blend in to the bottom you are fishing. Now you have to carry a dozen colors of six sizes of sinkers.

Anyone familiar with crawdad traps?
Chicken necks tied to the bottom of the trap is effective too.

Shimano Curado 200 K
Yes. Just run your spool tension knob a little tighter than you would with mono or braid.

How many jigs do you buy at a time?

Switching From Right Handed to Left Handed Reels
Last year I had an unfortunate incident that resulted in a compound displaced humeral fracture at the left elbow (broke my upper arm right above the elbow joint and dislocated the elbow as well). The bone has finally healed after nine months but the elbow is in a condition that makes holding a rod in my left hand painful and difficult. I could only imagine what setting the hook and fighting a fish would feel like. Instead of giving up my passion for fishing, I have decided it is necessary for me to re-learn casting by switching to left handed reels and keeping the rod in my right hand at all times. If anybody has made this switch I'm curious to know, how long did it take to adjust before you felt confident, or did it actually improve your casting and presentations? I never realized how much I enjoy being on the water and chasing fish until I could not do it. Thankfully I can resume my passion and it is one of the many things I do that I will never take for granted again.

Just wait, the lawsuits are about to start flying as these companies and sponsors were defrauded too. They will not take the damages from their association with this fraud lightly. One thing that was not mentioned, probably because of lack of physical evidence, is that tournament winnings by cheating is an act of theft.

ICAST 2019 New Products/Rumors/Wishlist
Yeah maybe so in our eyes, but don't forget we're a bunch of folks who probably would prefer a trip to Many, LA or Alba, TX over Orlando any day. I sense that our destination preferences might be biased and slightly out of the mainstream.

Is a swimbait rod worth it?
I would throw that bait all day long on a Kistler KLX X-heavy Grass Puncher Stump Grinder, especially if the reel is spooled up with 50# or 65# smackdown braid. This is the rod I use for large jointed swimbaits, heavy slop frogging, small A-rigs, and big jigs in a pinch. Whether I am fishing from a bank, dock, or deck of my boat this is the rod I am using for these techniques. It will handle all the duties you are mentioning. Well, it is the rod would use if I was not sidelined with a broken elbow.

internet shopping tax?
If the item was taxed at time of original purchase and later sold for a value less than or equal to original price then no tax consequence will be recognized. Only when an item is sold for more than it was purchased for, and taxed at that value, will there be a need to pay additional sales tax by the purchaser. The amount to be taxed is the difference between the new price and original price. In effect the second purchaser gets "credit" for the original sales tax paid. Bear in mind that the seller is also required to report the profit on the item and be taxed accordingly. There is nothing easy nor fast about tax compliance.

Folks, Don't Be This Guy
Knowing how the ol'baws down here can be, would not have been surprised if this would have happened. Actually, about five years ago, on the same lake, a landowner did fire at two fishermen for fishing around his dock similar to the guys in this article. Luckily no one was injured and the landowner was held responsible for his actions. On another note, the fishing on this lake justifies these risks.

Farmerville man arrested for battery, harassment of Lake D'Arbonne fishermen Ditta allegedly poured gasoline on anglers legally fishing near his dock FROM NEWS REPORTS June 08 at 2:39pm 1 / 1 Enforcement agents with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries arrested a 64-year-old Farmerville man on Tuesday after he allegedly confronted fishermen legally fishing in front of his property and dock on Lake D’Arbonne — and poured gasoline on them in an attempt to get them to leave. Agents arrested Vincent Ditta for simple battery and harassment of fishermen, according to a press release. Three people complained to the LDWF on May 31, after they said Ditta threw gas on them while they were fishing in Lake D’Arbonne. Agents investigated, and found the anglers were legally fishing in front of Ditta’s property and dock when he allegedly poured gasoline on them from a handheld gasoline tank, the release states. After getting a positive identification from the fishermen, agents arrested Ditta June 5 and booked him into the Union Parish Detention Center, according to the release. Simple battery brings up to a $1,000 fine and six months in jail. Harassment of people lawfully fishing carries a $100 to $350 fine and up to 60 days in jail, the release states.

Telescopic lure retriever?
I had a mygogetit. The clipping mechanism on the head is difficult to lock in the line and actually had the line slip out of the keeper a few times as well. The poles are very flimsy and tend to bow and flex a good bit when contact is made with a snagged lure which limits the downward force applied to lure. The bottom section of mine separated from the middle section thus costing me a retriever and a lure. Replaced it with one with curly end and a sturdier pole. This has been a much better unit.
