  1. Go pack go!
  2. Good drive for us, but a good chance the ol lady and I might be there. We were just there but we got the hint that March is the time to back.
  3. Bahahaha! Don't fix what ain't broken! Nothing but a brick wall here. Going undefeated this year will be rich!
  4. Guinness, and schlafly oatmeal stout. Guinness comes in 11.2 Oz bottles, so that counts as a light beer right?
  5. Hi, where are you located? I'm only about 40 minutes from Shelbyville. Although I tend to not fish there often, so many pleasure boaters, I know it can be some good fishing. If you're just interested in catching fish, I've been told if you can locate them the hybrid bass there can make one heck of a trip. Look for big bait balls of shad, and try tossing some deep diving cranks. Its not uncommon when guys to get on schools of them to catch 100+ hybrids in a day. Also if you've never tried it before, below the spillway, which turns into the Kaskaskia, can be some very good musky and walleye fishing. I've pulled out several 40 inch musky working that bank down there. You'll see them surface all day, the trick is to get them to hit haha. I suggest working a buck tail.
  6. The lake I fish often is a popular crappie spot. While they aren't lures, I went ahead and started a bobber collection from all the guys who've gotten snagged this year. Pretty well all are the good neon orange/lime thill bobbers. I'm up to around 20 now from this season. Funny thing is, I don't even use bobbers.
  7. Jam on! Very good you guys.
  8. Make sure you have plenty of free time, and have Sundays free. It gets super addicting. I'm in 3 this year, the one on here, a friend's league that will be a $50 buy in, and joined a $100 buy in yesterday. If you want to get the gist of it. You could do a weekly team on different websites.
  9. They'll get ya! There are so many where I'm at its a regular occurrence to have them scare you. They like sitting in the trees and as soon as you troll by they fly off screeching to holy hell.
  10. Last week I was out fishing, standing on the front deck, all of a sudden a freaking muskrat popped up right next to my boat and continued to scratch all around the outside trying to get in. Scared the heck out of me. Told the woman later that night, she asked what would have I done if he got in. Truth is, I very well might have jumped out of my boat! Couple years back, I decided to catfish all night by myself on shore. I kept my lights off so my eyes could adjust to the night. Night goes on, and sometime around 1 a.m I must have fallen asleep. Because what I awoke to was a blue herring landing literally 5 feet from me. Awake now, I jumped up freaked out, which freaked it out. If any of you have been around these birds you know the awful screech they make. Well this big ol bird took off in a storm literally feet above my head, yelling its lungs out. I was wide awake the rest of the night...
  11. Agreed, spending time with your kids and letting them have fun sounds terrible.
  12. You soon shall be kneeling before me
  13. Depends on what you're putting in your muffins and brownies.
  14. I use a bait caster for my shakey head. I'm able to toss 1/4 Oz pretty easily so it hadn't affected me. I use 12 lb floro as well. The bite has been rough here lately. But I hooked into 5 yesterday by just slowly dragging it on the bottom. Very sensitive bites, had to be ready and drive the hook home.
  15. Let's make it interesting, 15 second per draft. ... 60 has worked well for my other leagues.
  16. Another power pro fan. Fading doesn't bother me, as the line seems to be still holding up great. My jig flipping set up right now is probably nearing 4 years old. It's faded but I don't have any breakage issues.
  17. I use the slip on rubber one's for several of my reels. Certain reels they don't stay on as well such as my curados. The ones I do use them on I feel they do help when my hands are getting wet. Also I like the little cosmetic touch they add. For the price, I'd say give them a shot. You might love them. If not you're only out 5 bucks.
  18. If you have bought new reels and still have the boxes you might check them. Alot of times the company will send little sample tubes of the oil and grease. As for alternatives, I'm not real sure as ive never had to use one. I'm sure someone else will chime in. Good luck
  19. Any tackle shop should have it. Even wall mart carries several kinds here.
  20. I vote b with 5 max
  21. I'm in, tears will be shed. And not from me.
  22. Sorry guys, been in texas for past two weeks. I'll be in the hotel here soon and going to join. Thanks for the reminder . Lol
  23. Congrats! I'm about 3 hours away from shawnee forest (garden of the gods ). It's a beautiful area. I don't know how opt you are for hiking. But if you hike below the garden of the gods you will find old natural caves that are pretty neat. Enjoy your trip!
  24. Talked to darold today and got a trip set up. He sounded like a pretty down to earth dude. Look forward to meeting him and getting on some fish. Appreciate your input and thoughts guys.
