  1. Yeah, one of those spinning rods for $160 sounds good. This BFS casting thing is just murder on the wallet.
  2. Believe the hype. Casting reels are sweet.
  3. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to hit the Detroit store on Tuesday.
  4. 10 lb cxx is pretty close to 17 lb invizx. Good for square bills and traps. More than I'd use for something like a DT10.
  5. If you have Pike, use a leader of some sort. Otherwise straight braid is fine.
  6. Bank fishing during the day in summer can suck. Downsize your presentation and work your way up. Sounds like you need a few dinks to get the confidence back.
  7. So popping the 90 is a good idea. Otherwise I'm in the not-impressed-with-the-straight-retrieve camp.
  8. Gunfish uber alles.
  9. BOO! I guess I won't have to drive down to Dundee anymore.
  10. This time of year there is a lot of heavy grass and pads where I fish, which makes your standard bass jig sort of a salad magnet. However, it's a good idea if the cover is more rocky and woody. Also if you're on shore, fishing a jig uphill isn't the most fun thing in the world.
  11. I would try thin braid and a leader if you're considering it already, especially on a soft rod. Sweep down on the set and let the drag work when the fish runs. Make sure your hooks are sharp as well.
  12. Nylon or copolymer is good for spinnerbaits. I like the braid and mod-fast rod for the other two techniques. If it's working, don't change.
  13. I'm really into the Orochi XX Flat Side Special near $300. Sort of a do-everything shallow to mid depth rod.
  14. Girlfriend has a Crosstrek. It's not bad.
  15. The 6" Speed Shad is much larger than the 5.8" Fat Impact?
  16. Kistler's Magnesium 2. Winn grips and microwave guides. It's even green.
  17. I pre-ordered the small duck. I will post pictures of all the pounders that eat it.
  18. Yep, that's the reason I don't throw frogs much anymore. Teeth and braid are a bad combination.
  19. Popping perch is interesting. Hopefully it's Sexy Frog price and not Livetarget price. The pike are hungry for my wallet.
  20. Average run of the mill 6 foot divers? Sure. It's not ideal, but sure. It's actually going to be good for topwater and jerk baits.
  21. A 1001XT is a Curado 51E with the AR ratchet removed and smoke brake blocks. They're cool but not mind blowing. The Brenious is designed for saltwater fishing with very thin braid. Nice 7.7:1 gears though.
