  1. Pike are part of the reason that I do not fish spinnerbaits. I know a guy who feeds 2-3 Booyah spinnerbaits/week to the Pike.
  2. Are you prepared for the Shimano v. Pflueger slugfest that you're about to spark? We've been awful civil recently. I think we're due.
  3. Yep, not a fan. Then again, I like Cumara A grips, so what do I know?
  4. It's been unseasonably warm for the last three days. Skunk city until I got one on a frog today. Spro popper, natural green. When it was windy, overcast, and cooler on Sunday, I was getting assaulted on a Sammy 100 in crack blue. Two solid 3's and an angry pike. My Fall strategy is a combination of Shallow Shad Raps and walking baits. However, it's not quite Fall yet.
  5. As soon as I find a trailer that works, the pike will eat mine and I'll order more.
  6. I'm still a fan of the *** at that price point. $100 is also a good price range for used rods. You can certainly find Avids for $100, especially with the season winding down. Veritas is a fine rod but you can certainly do better.
  7. I guess that's not a bad idea but I'd still want to have swimjigs and something else that moves, like a fluke or popper maybe. If he's talking about clear, still, pressured water, then it makes more sense.
  8. I'm in favor. Braided line on a glass rod is also pretty cool. I'm testing and liking it.
  9. I'm waiting on the type R. It's only $50 more, which puts it at the reasonable price point of $200. Then we can have a fair shoot-out.
  10. Champs are going $150 with shipping on the bay.
  11. Yeah it's more of a visual bait. The trailer puts off a little vibration but nothing like a spinner or trap. That said, there aren't rules with bass fishing. They are more like guidelines. The clear and still water bass will tell you what they want.
  12. Clear and still says swim jig to me.
  13. I prefer Mepps but I do have a couple 3/8 oz Roosters that see water once in a while.
  14. 4 or 5 power Dobyns Champion or Champ Extreme H power *** *** or *** H power gen 1 Shimano Cumara (rare but pretty good) Length is up to you. It also depends if you want full or split grips.
  15. Upgrade your computer. If you don't have a solid state, get one. They're delightful.
  16. Where the eff are you finding 8 lb Largemouth? I need to buy a Huddleston.
  17. Spook, Sammy, or Gunfish.
  18. Worth a shot. I prefer mine naked though.
  19. Shimano warranty is hard to beat.
  20. What color? How did you retrieve it?
  21. Abrazx is a good choice. Tatsu is better, of course, but costs more. You could probably tie ppss8 brown directly to the lure. I use mono for spinnerbaits because Pike.
  22. Yeah, I'm trying to find a fault and I can't, really. You've picked a good assortment of well-reviewed reels and solid $100-ish rods. I can't personally speak for the sensitivity of the Bucoo line, but it's probably fine. Power Pro hasn't bled on my reels, but my fingers are nice and green after a spooling. PP and 832 are both good lines, which PP being better cost-wise. Perhaps a straight fluoro would be an option for the jig and worm rod.
  23. Kinda depends what you're throwing. I have been eyeing a Super Duty for frogs and/or 3/4 oz Daredevles.
