  1. It's a little stretchy and has some memory to it. It's not a top of the line fluoro but certainly better than numerous cheaper options.
  2. Used it today. No fish, but it's smooth casting and I had no trouble with sparse rip rap. Jury is still out on this one.
  3. The rocky and rip rap dam had trout anglers all over it so that was a no go. I used swimjig and spro lil john most of the day. Had trailer tails ripped off swimjig twice which was the extent of my action. Tried jerkbait but at those temps I had to use slower cadence...which was impossible with the wind, I was practically trolling. Probably didn't help fishing post frontal conditions either.
  4. Went out today on a small impoundment and was hammered with 20+ mph winds. Bass tracker struggled. Temps in mid 40s but could hardly get a good presentation....forget about pitching jigs! My dad caught a nice brook trout on a red eye shad...but that was it for us. The impoundment has one tiny cove that was barely sheltered so we were stuck with the wind. What's your most effective strategy when the wind is howling?
  5. Tackle trap has some in stock yes, but they won't return emails to me. A couple of well known Japanese stores have returned emails saying that daiwa will not allow them to order t3 gears to ship out. Been wanting to upgrade my t3 1016 to 8.1 ratio
  6. Rage bug just seems like such a big bait for trailer. I love em though. I been using swing impacts almost exclusively.
  7. Sniper is good but it has given me fits lately while trying to pitch.
  8. Unless you buy a faster ratio aird and take the gears out, then you are out of luck. Daiwa will not sell gears unless it's for a repair at one of their approved repair shops. I've contacted multiple online stores and get the same response.
  9. Dicks has a large fresh stock of xcalibur lures. I think they are fine
  10. Fluoro really isn't that bad and it does have its benefits. When punching I see a lot of pros on tv and youtube who use braid...Hell Hackney...you know him, the BASS angler of the year...says he uses braid all the time regardless of water clarity. There really is a difference in slack line sensitivity and if you are hopping a plastic on a bed you may not even feel the bass pick it up with braid and they certainly won't be swimming off with it so line watching isn't as effective.
  11. Thanks frog! I've been itching to get one but not many reviews on its stability while fishing.
  12. Tatulas and tcs can be had on amazon for around 100
  13. I have large sized hands. My TDZ is engulfed in my hand. The tatula, not so much but it doesn't bother me. Really isn't a factor in why I choose a reel.
  14. Got my tatula hd and onyx pfd in mail. Also went to DSG and got some keitech impacts, missile dstroyers, rage craw chunks and columbia PFG long sleeve
  15. 3/4oz works for me. Just enough to get through thick pads. Gotta remember they aren't like punching inches of grass.
  16. I have a spool of 12. Haven't used it yet.
  17. Check timestamp on original post
  18. When fishing beds, do yall have a bag of white soft plastics on deck in case they are not taking usual colors? Is the white more for the fisherman so he can see it on the bed, or is it for ticking off the fish?
  19. Funny, just got my jigs in. Falcon craw, black green pumpkin, bullshoal craw are all legit. BGP should be a great color all year long
  20. What colors are available?
  21. I haven't fished it but I will in early april. I'll let ya know what I find out
  22. I won't third that. I've bent those gamas on moderate size bass, they certainly aren't their better trebles. As for hook size...stock with 4, and even those are nearly too big.
  23. Inactive fish eat inactive baits Active fish eat active baits It's your job to determine which it is for the day. I'll just say poppers can and are worked quickly on surface.
  24. They may have different inches per turn if that matters. I'd go with the lews they have really reclaimed their glory
