  1. Hmm...thanks, I'm doing some research on the Zell Pop right now...all the reviews are most impressive!
  2. Hey Guys, A friend of mine who fishes's semi-professional introduced me to this lure. I ordered a couple, one in bone white & the other in a bluegill pattern. I've yet to catch a fish...but Its just my second day./outing. Are these lures superior to "Rebl Pop-R's or Yellow Magic? What is your top Top water Shallow bait...especially when you see them actively feeding or crashing shad??? I read in another bass forum that a Bass Pro met Don and he shared that his Splash It lure was nothing more than "sanded down-Rico rejects!" My friend swears by em...when the topwater bite is on. Just wanted to hear your experiences concerning this lure and anything relevant. Caught 2 bass today, one own the Booyah Pad Crasher..another on crickets...and then lost the frog to a "log fish!" Just lost a freaking SPRO yesterday...dam I'm rusty as hell! Bassing was brutal today...and after witnessing my wife haul in her 6th hand-size shell-cracker I succumbed...and we carried out about 20 slab size shellies! Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks Reggie

Speaking of re-tying...I've been out of the bass fishing game for a while. Something very disturbing is happening to me that NEVER use to happen! I'm losing some high dollars lures because of shoddy knots! I normally tie a knot that kinda goes like this: 1 loop through the eye, wrap around about 6-7 times and back through the open loop by the eye and wet it and pull tight....any suggestions. Just tossed off a new pretty SPRO FROG after my 3-4 cast!!!!!!
  4. Born and raised in north Alabama. Traveled globally via the Military...now retired. Father and my uncles started me fishing at age 6 or 7. Mostly cane poles, red worms, chicken livers and farm ponds. Got my 1st Fiberglass rod and Zebco 202...and I was IMMEDIATELY HOOKED!! I soon started buying: Sports Afield, Outdoor Life and Field & Stream....I devoured everything fishing wise. I probably learned more via the mag called Fishing Facts with Doug Hannon, Spence Petros & Uncle Buck, but Homer Circle has a soft spot in my heart. As well as Virgil Ward, Jimmy Houston, Orlando Wilson, Hank Parker, Jerry McGinnis (I think), Roland Martin. I then preceded to make friends with almost anybody who fished bass tournaments and have enjoyed chasing "moss-backs & toads" for about 35 yrs now! I fish The Elk River, Tennessee River, Wilson & Wheeler dams and every slough & private lake/pond I can get my mitts on! I really love fishing shallow stuff, pads, moss ,stick-ups and tossing top-waters, shallow running KVD's, Spro Frogs, Super Flukes, Splash It's, Spinner-baits/Buzzers, Chuggers....trying to develop some patterns for these dams...but have been thoroughly thrashed by the current and lure thieving rocks!!!!! That enough for now. Thanks for having me aboard! God Bless You! Reggie
