  1. Thanks Lonnie...I was flat wearing Goggle search out tryingto hunt this lil rascal down! Reg
  2. Hey Lonnie, Been trying to look up the "lazer z shad tail spinner" you mentioned...I may be headed over to Guntersville soon myself. Can you post a pic or link to that lure...I'd appreciate it! Thanks, Reg
  3. Yep, looks like a complete failure to me!! hahahahaha
  4. Hey Guys, Been out of the saddle for a season or two. Boy, am I in Fishing Fever mode. I was reading some favorable reviews about this lure from Lucky Craft. Headed down to Wheeler Dam this week to toss something at the local stripes, spotted bass, maybe a suager or two! Who has used this lure or something in the series close to it? Any particular retrieve method? Thanks, Reg
  5. That's impossible...there's fallen timber between me and the water...not just the bass! lol
  6. Recently suffered another thrashing at the "fins" of my local bass at my favorite swampy lake. I was tossing Hula Popper & various configuration of plastic frogs...I got tons of swirls, boils, and bass striking from 1-2 ft behind the lures...even when I slowed em down to a snail's pace! This lake does absorb a tremendous amount of fishing pressure...it's located behind some ritzy condo's...and from dusk till dawn and even at night somebody & their kid brother is out there pounding the water for a dream wall-mount. 2-4 ft max depth with a bevy of downed timber, snags, lily pads, stumps, snakes, cranes, and murky alga filled water... What's some solutions to this dilemma? Last time here the wind, poor knots and a shortage of spinnerbaits caused me great sorrow! NOW IT HAS BECOME QUITE...PERSONAL!! HELP!!! Thanks, Reg
  7. Ok...that's about what I thought. I met an idiot working in a Tackle Shop a few days ago trying to convince me to go back at them with 12 lb mono...says that he flips heavy cover with 12-14 lbs,,,,yeah, right!
  8. Found a really hotspot back behind a local condo area. It's only about 3-4 feet deep at best, but it's loaded with some big bass, but also "Full of snags, fallen timber and logs galore. I lost 3 good spinner baits and a lot of patience last week over there! What lures would be best suited for this type of fishing? The bass are ultra aggressive & downright ornery! Thanks Reg
  9. Hey Guys, Been a while since I've been on. Well I found a really nice Bass Pro Shop Extreme Rod & Reel Combo ETX 1000 LPHB set up on 6'6 Woo Davis Med action rod. Gave $35 for it at a Pawn shop. I took it by my local Tackle shop and this "Grizzly Adams" looking fellow starts right in badmouthing the reel, my line selection and my estimated learning curve (switching from 30 yrs of spinning reels). He croaked constantly that I need a Calcutta or Ambassador..."else I"ll just give up on bait-casting all together!"...obviously he's a Prophet as well! Is this a decent set-up to learn how to use a bait-caster or would the US Reels such as the Liberty be a better choice? Kinda looking for the path of least resistance, but I am a fairly quick study! Any thoughts/feedback? Thanks Reg
  10. What color is your fav?
  11. I might take the swimming lessons..;but I'll leave the water ballet for the fairy's!
  12. Hey guys, I'm leaning real heavy toward buying a boat...an 18-21 ft John Boat w/40-50hp motor & trolling motor...the problem is; I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM! My wife is headed into "nuclear melt-down mode"...and can't stop squalling about me taking swimming lessons, wearing 3 life preservers , or fishing in 8 inches of water! lol I have been out on boats many times, I can safely operate them and I am not afraid of the water....and I ALWAYS wear a life jacket. I fish swallow water 1-6 ft 95% of the time...should I heed her warnings or is knowing how to swim a prerequisite to being a safe boat owner? I just can't stomach all my old bank fishing spots all grown up, locked up or having to drive ungodly miles just to be able to cast into decent water.... How many guy do you know that have & operate boats that can't swim? Thanks Reggie.....p.s....I think she just upped the insurance on me by a $100K...YIKES!!!!!!
  13. Crushers?? I've heard they have them...but share with me about their crushers. A friend of mine say they use them to strip flesh off of their prey?
