Some Good News Today (Theft Involved)
I call them boys because they looked too punkish to be men. I'm sure they were near my age or above 18, but I can say with certainty that I am much harder than they are.

Some Good News Today (Theft Involved)
the camera sits on top of the dam, on a walk area that the wardens can access. One points down the wardens truck path and another down the bank.

Some Good News Today (Theft Involved)
This was my first smartphone, was scared to have one for fear it would outsmart me (it did). I know nothing of this cloud you speak of lol other than it is storage for files.

Some Good News Today (Theft Involved)
Around here, hearsay can get warrants signed. Proving it may be another matter though not in my case, theres a cam overlooking the dam structure and they were caught on it. As far as my stuff goes, depends on if the boys still have it or if they are willing to say what they did with it.

Some Good News Today (Theft Involved)
A couple weeks ago I was fishing near my favorite hole, and left the bank to walk bout 15 yards into the water . I used to carry a shimano tackle bag, holding 4 utility boxes full of lures and a space full of bout 100 bags of plastics. Since I was going in the water I went ahead and put my wallet and brand new galaxy s4 phone in it , and while fishing, seen two young guys making off with my gear. I tried to catch up, but no luck, gotta tag number though. An hour ago the detective came by and I was able to positively id them in a photo lineup. i valued the gear at 500 easily, and the phone priceless, as it held a memory card of the majority of my 1 yr old daughters pictures. They really wiped me out, and since then I have bought one utility box and stocked with jig heads, t-rig hooks and a small array of grubs, tubes, and a few swimbaits and worms. Through my years of fishing, I have learned that tackle comes and goes, but I'll only have those pictures in my memory until they fade away one day. Boys had never been arrested (just hadn't been caught yet the detective said) and what they thought was just some fishing equipment turned out to be a big chunk of my life. 600 dollar phone added with the tackle and these boys have committed a felony. But at least the law got em.

Whats Your Most Interesting Find While Fishing ?
I found a pflueger president spinning reel on half a rod bout two months ago. the reel was zip tied to the reel seat with the seat loosened as far as it could go, and the rod was broke bout mid ways up. I came to the conclusion they bought the rig at a local pawn shop, got snagged and broke the rod trying to ****** it loose and just threw it in. The question still remains... How smart do you have to be to realize that you could've saved the reel by clipping the line and cutting the zip ties at home rather than throwing it all away?

Some Catches This Year Worthy Of Pics...
None, they go 100 yds to the bait shop for weigh and pictures and then released. The 10+ I catch one day will be took to the taxidermist. I went out an hour ago and caught a large crappie on the 1/4 oz jig head with 3" white curly tail grub, and missed a large bass on a bad hookset. Long cast and didnt yam it in like i should've. Big storm came in very quickly and sent me home.

Good Deal On Baitcast Rig?
So the local high dollar sportsman store is closing out, and I picked up a pflueger supreme casting reel, and a shimano voltaeus rod, 7' medium heavy, fast action... both new. Paid 100 dollars, good deal?

Bucktail Jigs?
Thats something I've wanted to do, and this spurs another question... Would you get more satisfaction from simply making the lure yourself, or from catching fish from your self made lure?

Bucktail Jigs?
Anyone had any experience or luck using them to catch bass in the largemouth variety?

Favorite Lures Or Bait
Texas rigged plastics for sure, whether it be weightless or weighted. Various weights and types of plastics, depending on what I "think" they want. Depending on the cover, i'll fish a frog or jig. In open water around structure I like to give em a unskirted jig head with a grub.

Some Catches This Year Worthy Of Pics...
9 3/4 lb, dont know what the big fish is for the entire reservoir but 9 3/4 is biggest we've seen so far from below the dam. Using 1/4 oz jig heads and 4" curly tail grub or minnow. White or blue/white combo

Looking For A Short Med/hvy Rod
I wouldn't worry about the extra ten inches, 6' is about the shortest I go. If I encounter low branches, I flip or pitch. Wish I could help you more.

Some Catches This Year Worthy Of Pics...
Thanks, unless somebody has landed a monster and didnt tell the bait shop across the street or tell anyone, I hold the big fish brag rights for the area I fish. I'll be honest though, my success is directly correlated to the amount of time I spend casting, which is daily minus the occasional thunderstorm day.

Fishing Below A Dam.
I'm one of the fishermen whos restricted to the bank, and I live a quarter mile from a reservoir dam. spill water is always flowing, providing a steady current, and its a rocky bottom with a few weed beds here and there. Water is a stained blue in most spots, visibility about 3 ft deep. On the far side of the dam there is a large pipe that exits under the water and sends water from the lake into the river, and there is where i've been catching my big fish. I'd estimate the acre surrounding that pipe to be about 20 ft deep, then rises up to an average of 6 ft pretty quickly. My question to you guys is what techniques and baits/lures would you suggest to try? I've been doing well on 1/4 oz jig heads with a white 4" curly tail grub, but wanna divert from my confidence lure and try for results.

Josh, or Fish Whisperer here. 24 from Spartanburg SC. Been fishing since I was three and fishing hooked me more than I've hooked fish lol. Some say i'm addicted, I call it a lifestyle. I primarily bass fish, though I may set out for crappie on occasion. Long time lurker, new poster.
