  1. Pm sent. That would be a trip of a lifetime for me. Dad always told me "if you ever get a chance, go see the world." Granted he did it while part of the big green machine, but i'll never have to funds to splurge on traveling abroad at my leisure. I could go on a trip to Baccarac and be perfectly content with calling that the last vacation in my entire life.
  2. Ya'll make me sick! Who can I talk to to get information on such trip? And if no one minds me asking, what size stack of cash gets you started for a trip to Eden?
  3. I agree partly with both quoted posters. I've threw a weighted trick worm (small split shot on hook) and while typically I've encountered bass hit it and run, I have had instances where bass gulp it on the fall without moving at all and felt the "live weight" upon taking my slack in and beginning my retrieve. With that said, the majority of my strikes on worms are thumps or thump and run.
  4. Notice you didn't include S. Carolina, Ask Saban what happened the past couple time they played each other.
  5. It is a win for all SEC teams, we get a collective share of the profits in bowl games.
  6. Exactly. Players are tiring from the fast constant pace, momentum is rising and the other team's qb is on a rhythm. As a coach, would you burn a timeout to stop the game and possibly throw off the qb's hot streak, or take advantage of player health rules and fake a leg cramp to give your d coordinators time to get a scheme together?
  7. Dam right they did, and I don't blame them. You see it in soccer all the time, players flopping and faking the big injury to draw the yellow or red card.
  8. With Clemson ranked high in preseason, I do not see them being hurt by winning ACC games. Sure, on one of your cupcake games you may drop a spot even if you win, but if they were to run the table AND win conf championship, then I could see them playing for the NC. As for USC... I see their toughest game being next week against a ticked off Georgia team. Even with Marshall out for the year, they got a horse in Gurley and I expect him to test our D line. Georgia would be good if Murray could put away games. He falls apart after a big sack. Couple this with the fact that he is 1-10 against ranked teams, and I'll pick a strong defensive team over them any day. EDIT: I just read your post over again, and I see what you mean by Clemsons opponents ruining their ranking by losing. Thats why the SEC has power. Sure, we have our bottom dwellers, but our top half are strong strong, which helps in bcs ranking when you factor in conference play.
  9. Can't stand it either, too powerful for a judgement call and I can see it determining the outcome of a game this year. As for SEC love, well, some say we play a different kind of ball. Every conference has their "can compete with anyone in the nation" teams, but as of late, no one can top the SEC in ranked teams. Some also say that SEC hype helps in ranking, but expect that not to matter when the playoff system is installed. I'm a Carolina fan, and I hate to say it, but Clemson is legit this year. I would add FSU to your biggest challenges, and watch out for trap games.
  10. I have some old spinning equipment (looks like surf casting stuff) that my papa used to catch VW bug catfish with. He used to take me to Santee Cooper every weekend unless the signs were in the head and bring back monsters with us. He died when I was four, and other than an obscure memory or two all I have to remember him by is a scrapbook of us with trophy cats and his spinning gear.
  11. When my daughter cut her first tooth... I was changing her diaper and heard a fart, then as I made my way across a 10' room to get a new diaper I hear a shart and feel the warm stanky goo making its way down my unclothed back. "OH MY GOD.... JADE!!!" As I get within five feet of her she lets out another rocket and hits me in the stomach along with some backsplash on the closet door behind me.... Still... you love em regardless...
  12. Hate to agree with a tater, but they won fair and square. d**n good game last night with mistakes made by both sides.
  13. Was a helluva game, but by god I was pullin for Georgia hard, would've loved to see Clemmons "Championship year" ruined then beat em next week!
  14. Upstate SC here, in Clemsux country. Go Gamecocks!, fear the thumb!
  15. Or 4 in a row, the thumb cometh, Clemson.
  16. That killer weed that you're smoking... well, I want some.
  17. Thanks for reinforcing my decision. Being closer to their age I can remember that at that age one tends not to weigh the consequences of things before they act. The shi**in thing is that I think the police arrested the wrong guy. Hear me out before anyone jumps on me though! I know I know, either one of them could've stopped each other and shouldve both been charged, but here are the circumstances...(for this purpose, the one arrested is guy1, other boy is guy2) 1: The tag number I got belonged to the guy1; I had no other way to identify guy2 other than by facial recognition, and since the investigator had no clues to determine who he was, he wasn't able to make a photo lineup set for him. 2: My fishing gear was in the possession of the guy2. 3: Guy1 has taken the fall for his "friend", accepting complete responsibility and blame. In my mind, I feel like guy2 was the leader, and guy1 followed and went along with his friend, and now guy1 is paying for both their mistakes since there was no way to id both of them to make the double arrest. I have no info on guy2 as far as criminal history and such, but guy1 has never been in any trouble, works after school and on weekends, goes to church, and I got the vibe from him that he really is a decent boy that let himself get dragged into trouble by his "friend" who won't stand side by side with him when s**t gets thick.
  18. UPDATE!!! So they got the one boy and arrested him. 18 and still in high school. Works at the local Ingles. Anyways, I talked to him and his parents over the phone, since he's never been in trouble before, i'm dropping the charges this afternoon when I meet with him and his parents on the condition that my fishing gear is brought with them, and $1000 to cover the phone and loss of pictures. I made a foolish mistake and stole from a neighbor when I was 16, and the circumstances basically worked out the same at this, I gave the man his item back and 100 dollars, and his yard was mowed for a year in exchange for dropping the charge. I am not gonna potentially ruin this boys future potential for a mistake he's owned up to. As for the other boy, his parents have been called and they are gonna go in to split the costs, he doesn't work so mommy and daddy gonna pay his side out. Gotta hand it to the arrested boy, he called me in person and apologized. I laid into his ass lol, went all army drill sergeant father mode on him. "You oughta be thankful to have a mama that gives a **** to post your bail, after shaming her the way you have!" "You think you feel bad? How you think she feels knowin she raised a ****in thief?"
  19. UNC had the fastest offensive pace that Coach Ward said he had ever seen. Hell during the post game interview Clowney said everybody was tired, said the UNC players told him they were tired. It'll be an interesting game for Georgia vs Clemson, and I'm excited for next Saturday.
  20. I am looking into having a custom casting rod built. Looks will be unimportant to me, so no intricate wrap designs and such. The goal is strictly performance, lightweight and sensitive. Through my searches I cannot find anyone local to meet one on one to discuss this, so I'm resorting to posting here. My specs(If anyone needs more, just ask) are 7' butt to tip, mh fast action, whatever brand blank the builder suggests for my needs, split reel seat trigger grip(no foregrip), and unless a builder suggests otherwise, spiral wrapped micro guides. Can anyone on here build this or direct me to someone who can?

  22. If the signs are in the head, the fish's mouths are sore and you're wasting your time.(papa swore by this and wouldn't go.)
  23. she was able to take drag freely.
  24. Went out with my ultralight 7' spinning rod for some crappie fishing today. 1/8 oz jig head and blue white tube grub. Caught a few nice slabs back to back and everything died for about five minutes when mama bass almost jerked the rod from my hands. I've caught very large bass on this rig before, so I was used to the extreme flexing, but when I got her close to the bank she gave a hard last pull and broke the rod right below the 3rd eye from the top. I reckon she got the hook out when the line slacked. Was kinda sad and high from the rush, but that rod had paid for itself bout 5 times over in fun with the other big bass I caught on it so I let it go. Woulda loved to have got my hands on that bass though...
