  1. My wifes a zoom bait away from filing for divorce! On the way to the park with my wife and daughter, I hear " Bait shop iz on way der". I shudder as I turn around only to see my daughter sucking on her passy. I see him no where. I thought to myself "Well, I did run out of jig heads, oh and I wanted to get some sunline." A small "hehehe" is let out that only I seem to hear. I tell my wife i'll be out in a second, and make my way in..... "Hey Josh, I know you've been looking to have a rod made, but I got these smoke rod on sale real cheap." I pick up a 7' mh micro guide smoke and a rush of euphoria courses through my body. I tried to fight it, I really did, but I ask "That Lew's Team pro I held the other day, let me put it on this and get a feel." As I find the balance point, I feel like the apprentice in Fantasia, playing with the sorcerers wand while he sleeps. As I loosen up the reel seat, the voice I know all too well says "By dis, u b gran massa fishman!" The clerk sees concern in my face as i'm picturing the doghouse in my head, and instead of sending me on my way, he enables me by saying "I'll even do the paperwork for the free boat bag from Lew's." The "hehehe" rings out again as i'm laying twenties on the counter and walk out the door with my new rig, sunline, a few packs of jig heads, a popper, and a live pointer. I drop my head in shame as my wife gives me a look of disgust on the way to the truck. The sting of the slap hurts, but not more than when I recovered from it in time to see the bait monkey run underneath the shop, laying in wait for me to come again.
  2. I go with t-rig weightless, or if I need to fall a lil quicker I use this as to not affect the flutter action...
  3. I hope i'm not hijacking the thread, as the title isn't specific, but has anyone had experience with the Team Lew's Pro? Held on at a shop the other day and felt good in my small hands.
  4. In my opinion, you hit the nail on the head when you said anchor. Take a texas rig for example. I'm a big believer that a heavier weight will dampen strikes to your rod because the weight is in front of the hook; lighten the bullet up and smaller strikes ping back to you easier. As you said, on a drop shot rig, the hook is in between you and the weight. A heavier weight, depending on your technique on using the rig, will pull the line tighter during jiggles and if the bass strikes during a tight line, you will feel it much more than if there wasn't as much tension on the line. My .02c, 98 more plus tax gets you a mcdouble.
  5. I have a problem with this... Not with what you said flyfisher. Companies such at St. Croix have massive amounts of money and time into their research and development, if they're going to give rods a label where certain rods are designed to work best, then the labels given should be correct. Maybe I can explain my opinion better this way... Say I pull up the St. Croix website. I go with their opinion and buy their jig rod, and find out that it is terrible for jig fishing, yet their spinnerbait rod works great for jig fishing. Why call it a jig fishing rod if another rod can outperform it? Although, one could also say different strokes for different folks, and my rant would be moot. Carry on.
  6. I lower them, to the point where if I was to cast with it, parts of the backlash would slap my face lol. Swallow your pride, crank your brakes up and start small and work your way up, your line and agitation level will thank you.
  7. I'm a bank fisherman with no smarts. I'll throw a hook somewhere and have to break a knot, and dang if I won't throw right back into it again, and again, and again..."I'm gonna show that log/rock/weed". I've easily lost 50 dollars in the water some long days. Unless I plan on going swimming, I can't afford to buy high dollar lures/bait at the rate i'm capable of losing them. The body of water I fish doesn't allow swimming or wading, but I take my chances occasionally. My decision may change if I was on the inside looking out (in a boat.)
  8. Ya'll were playing the "Jungle map"
  9. Touche on the city but... Awful stadium you say? Bad Surroundings? I present you all with this...Williams Brice Stadium and Gamecock Park. Before the new video board... Our new video board... Gotta love that SEC money...
  10. Terrible board, the layout makes you cringe.
  11. Really??? http://www.tigernet.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=8&guest=true http://www.cockytalk.com/index.php I'll let ya'll be the judge on who's delusional.
  12. Ask top level recruits who they wanna play for, and the majority will tell you SEC. Then ask them why.
  13. I should say that our President Harry Pastides started the plan with insight from our former AD Eric Hyman.
  14. I'm not gonna get more specific, but heres the master plan.... do the digging yourself. http://www.facilities.sc.edu/downloads/master-plan.pdf
  15. One of my first posts stated post season revenue. The figures I gave were from total season minus bowl revenue. Here is the 2011 SEC Bowl revenue sharing map... As you can see, even non bowl eligible SEC teams still benefit from SEC success as a whole.
  16. Well, profits from the athletic dept funded a couple of academic centers for South Carolina. Our previous AD (now texas a&m's) developed a long term, master plan a few years back that once fulfilled, will improve all facets of the university tremendously. The funding for the master plan? Centered around athletic revenue.
  17. Correct, with less teams than the SEC.
  18. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/5/31/4383972/sec-revenue-sharing-schedule Most recent figure.
  19. Believe what you like. I love my university, and being in the SEC not only helps the program, but the university as a whole. I cheer for SEC brethren because the SEC participates in collective sharing of post season profits. http://blog.al.com/press-register-sports/2009/05/sec_announces_record_revenue_s.html That was for 2008-09. That figure has increased immensely since then.
  20. Butthurt much?
  21. S. Carolina.
  22. Sounds like your reading comprehension is lacking. The SEC gets a collective share of the profits in bowl games. Many millions of dollars are shared amongst SEC teams when they go bowling, and many more millions are shared when they win. That reason alone is enough to cheer for your fellow conference teams.
