Do you find it easier to rip a lipless crank free of weeds/grass when you are using braid? Seems that running a lipless crank over and sometimes right through the tops of weeds triggers a lot of bass.

My most effective way to fish a lipless crank is a stop and go retrieve, with the simple addition of twitching it forward when you start up your retrieve again. Yo yo type retrieves are best when bass are sluggish or in deep water. When temps are warmer, nothing beats ripping them over grass.

Ice, That reminds me to put those back in my finesse box. I once caught a 10lber on a plum colored Luck e Strike 4 inch french fry. I was fishing on a golf course pond down in Naples, Florida. To this day,it still stands as my PB. Regards, hookset on 3 Centipedes are one of my go to baits when the fish are just lockjawed. My favorite color is watermelonseed but the pinkish, purplish hues of the luck e strike french fries are good too. In shallow water when the cover isn't too thick you can fish pedes weightless on 6 - 8 pound test. That's my ultra finesse technique.

They are worth having, the action is somewhere in the middle of a Husky Jerk and an X - Rap but different than a pointer.

If you are using 8 pound test you can get flukes to fish well in 15 - 20 feet of water. Just make sure you are fishing an area with relatively sparse cover. With 10 - 12 pound test they will still be able to be fished 8 - 10 feet down at least. Flukes can be used all year and I think overall they are one of the top 5 best bass lures. Same goes with all soft jerks.

Can you use parasite clips with the rage tails to keep them from sliding down the hook without affecting their surface action?

Our local angling group has kept the lake open and prevented any fish killing activities. Big victory for sportsmen and freedom.

The majority of times when fisheries are poisoned, the species biologists wanted gone show up eventually once more, sometimes in smaller numbers but most studies have shown poisoning is only a temporary solution much of the time.

Those were killed in the initial poisoning or by netting. The pike I have heard still being caught there are 7" - 10" long. Where are you hearing this? I havent heard of one being caught. I'm not trying to argue or discredit you, I just really want to know. I WANT the pike to come back to that lake! A friend of mine who lives in LA fished it this fall and caught a couple. I also heard a RUMOR of one showing up in a fyke net.

Pearl white is the best, but I also use watermelon white laminate, watermelon black flake, baby bass, cinnamon, red shad black laminate, and brown pumpkin.

They are all right but I prefer making my own. Not really a short cut.

The 5" assassin has a little more wiggle than the fluke but it's less durable and doesn't sink as fast. I buy both though.

The gonzo grub is good, but it doesn't have quite the same action at slow speeds as the Yamamoto or the Kalin's. Also, it seems like half of the grubs you buy in a pack of Gonzos are messed up and useless. They are more durable, have some different colors, and the Yum scent is nice as well.

X - raps rock. Sometimes they will float up VERY slow, but if that happens, put a suspendot or two on them and they suspend perfectly.

I really love sluggos, and the sluggo el salto as well. IMO the most underrated soft plastic is a centipede though. When the bite is super tough or the fish spooky, a light carolina rig or split shot rig with a 4" zoom centipede will get you a few bites.

Super spots are my favorite lipless crank besides the Bass Pro XPS Rattle Shad. They have a somewhat wider wiggle than a Rat L Trap and they sink slower. So I like them better for shallower water or above weeds. Rat L Traps are good but spots are better.

I will be picking up a couple packs of Ikas in April when the bite starts up.

It's a floating/diving bait that has a minnowbait/crankbait hybrid profile.

Does anyone know where I can buy genuine silver spinnerbait blades to put on my spinnerbaits? Genuine silver does tarnish but it has so much more flash than nickel/crome.
