I use a minimum of 14 around heavy cover and on rare occasions 12.

I throw both dt 4s and 6s on a BPS Crankin' Stick, 7' M, with a Shimano Curado 200e5. Throws both of them very well, especially the 6 but plenty of distance with the 4 still at least 120 feet.

Only if the cover is really light. I would say 14 pound test minimum. I use 17 most of the time.

I have a good flashlight and a good magnet, I'm sure I'll find them. Have found screws from other reels before when looking.

I do and I don't remember seeing them. They might have fallen out and I didn't notice it.

No I might have had the pin and spring fall out. I don't remember seeing them above the star, just the plate above and the retainer pin.

Took my Curado 200E5 apart last night to give it an annual cleaning. Got everything back together fine but the drag is a pain in the butt since it's spring loaded. Put it back together and everything is working properly, except the drag isn't clicking when I turn it, though it works just when I tested it. What gives?

I have a 7'0" MH Veritas Micro Guide as my pitchin' rod and love it.

BPS PQ hands down. Lew's Speed Spool is another good one and the Shimano Caenan isn't bad.

I like a 5 something ratio for dog walkers (keeps slack in the line better making working the lure easier, a 6 range for poppers or prop baits, and a 7 range for buzzbaits, frogs, and soft buzzbaits like rage shads.

Biggest was a little over 5 pounds (my biggest bass period have been in the 6 pound range), on a koppers live target, walking it over surface vegetation in a shaded pocket of tules.

Yeah you can get bit in that temperature range, especially by smallies. I tend to wait till 60 degrees to really fish topwaters though.

My favorite lizards are the zoom and rage ones. For hawgs, the rage hawg is best, but I like the baby brush hog for a smaller profile and the full sized one for a bigger bait. Space monkeys are one of the best pitchin' creature baits out there.

I catch plenty of smallies on skirted jigs. Generally they like a BIT smaller profile, such as a booyah baby bug jig, strike king bitsy bugs, pepper jigs micros, and other finesse jigs. Have caught plenty of smallies on full size largemouth jigs though, smallies as small as 10".

I'm another who believes in as light of a weight as possible. I usually use a 1/4 ounce weight most of the time, but I'll use a 1/8 ounce weight with finesse texas rigs on spinning gear a lot. I only use a 3/8 ounce or heavier weight in heavy wind or in deeper water. The only time you need really heavy weights IMO is punching through heavy vegetation.

I use a MH crankin' stick from BPS for my spinnerbaits and it works great. The MH' 7'11" is fantastic for big deep divers.

Banjo minnow does work for sure. But flukes and other soft jerks work better in every way. They cast better, sink better, more weedless, and a better hookup rate.

Go out and tie your lure to something and have a person slightly tap the line about five feet above the lure with a pencil with your eyes closed. That helps as well and has been a good tip for me.
