Maryland's Who's who!
Any advice for Mattawoman Creek? Buddy and I fished this weekend and both got skunked. Not so much as even a bite. Any advice? Was our first time there.

Maryland's Who's who!
@JeepFisher: I tried the spot you were talking about...don't waste your time...I didn't get so much as a bite on multiple different styles to include Senko, Ned rig, top water, frog..NOTHING. The water SMELLS terrible. Every cast brought up nothing but sludge. It was disgusting. Another example of how people are ruining our waterways because it was nothing but litter!!

Fishing heavy algae pond
Hey all: There is a local pond by me that has TONS of algae on it..I am trying to get advice on fishing it. I have gone out with a hollow body frog and get TONS of strikes, however, when I go to set the hook there is nothing and when I pull the frog out it is COVERED in the algae. The algae mats the top and is on the bottom too. I know there are some big fish in the pond, as I have had some come out of the water to get the frog. Any advice? The pond is a constant struggle with cast and pull of gunk. There are no real openings in the mat, I just fish the frog along the top nice and slow and they come up and grab. I am thinking that when they pull down it brings so much mat with it that the hooks don't have a chance to set.

Bass Fishing Noob Question
Hey all, bass fishing noob. Spend tons of time here and youtube learning this fun and amazing hobby. However, I have a question with what has been happening to me lately. I fish a local pond by me, and the bass get around 2-4 lbs. Lately, fishing I have snapped my line setting the hook. And I mean sometimes barely setting the hook. I am using a medium heavy rod with 10 lb fluorocarbon line. I use a 2/0 EWG hook and have been fishing a creature bait (havoc pit boss 4") with a bullet wait. Also I am using a improved clinch knot. Any words of advice is appreciated. The area is heavy cover, but I don't feel I am really getting into much, if any snags. But it seems that lately, I am losing 2-3 fish by snapping the line when I go to set the hook. I just bought some 14lb line to try, but figured I would check here with the experts! Thanks guys!

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey all, anybody know any areas in Southern Maryland to either fish on the bank or rent jon boat (with trolling motor preferably)? I live in Charles County and just moved here. Only place I have found is Gilbert Run Park and its pretty bad fishing. Went this weekend and caught one total. Talked to others and they got nothing. Any insight is helpful. Just moved here so trying to get the lay of the land! Thanks all.

Gilbert Run Park (Md)
Anybody have any luck with this park? I just moved to Charles County and am having difficulty finding fishing spots. I need to fish from shore or fish in an area that allows for boat rentals. I found Gilbert Run, and have only fished from the shore. I have caught a lot of bass from here, but NONE are over a lb!! Are there any nice bass in here? Any spots I should try? Going to rent boat this week and try some of the out of the way spots. Thanks all!
