Al Lindner - Daiwa?
So they follow the money all the while giving a little Bible message at the end of the show. lol. Hypocrites. Still, I like more than dislike their show even though I get a little infuriated with the religious message at the end.

What do you do in the off-season?
I want to go ice fishing and hope I catch my first fish under ice. I also what to build a new computer this winter. I've never built one before. Also, go see lots of movies at the theater.

Power, Finesse, or Both?
I consider most hard baits like crankbaits and spinnerbaits power fishing and most soft plastics like Texas rigs finesse fishing. I'm using 8 pound or six pound mono 99% of the time for my soft plastic Texas rigs.

Winter kayak clothing
in that video he says he has bibs and the video shows him putting them on. But what happens if he falls in the water? What keeps the water from going down the top of the bibs?

Your 2017 Fishing Goals
For me: 1. Catch my first fish with a fly rod. Be it blue gill, crappie or bass. 2. Fish deeper for bass. Around 20 to 30 feet deep, with heavy Texas rigged soft plastics. 3. Don't use the "hot" lures everybody is using on the net and keep using my favorite lure - Texas rigged soft stick baits and plastic worms and lizards. 3. Use plastic lizards more. 4. A contradiction to item 3: pick a day and use all those Japanese crank baits I have bought and have never touched the water. At least try all of them once. 5. Keep wearing my life jacket when I go kayak fishing alone.

shimano sahara fe 4000 spinning reel
I'm a Sahara fan and love my 2500's for bass. I have one 4000 but after using it once I've not used it again. lol. I think it would better suited for muskie or those big giant cat fish. You can't go wrong with a Sahara though. They are my number one fishing reel, period.

Advice on split shot rig
A few years ago all I did was use the split shot rig for bass. I still love spit shotting. I always carry around a pack of those split shot weights. Back then and now I use Sufix Elite mono six pound and eight pound. I squeeze a split shot above the hook about twelve inches or so (experiment) and then take a pair of pliers and slightly squeeze the weight so it holds in place a little better. I'm not a fan of fluoro and no way would I squeeze on a split shot on flouro.

Fishing to become an Olympic sport?
If synchronized swimming is an Olympic event then fishing can be an event. Not to mention curling or whatever its called. Let fishing be an Olympic event. Its all a money grab from a corrupt organization anyway.

Fall fishing up north - help
About thirty minutes ago I started throwing my fishing bags/tackle boxes in the shed for the winter. To me bass fishing is over till January 1st when the fishing shows come back on TV then the long wait for mid April when the fishing really starts up. I might get back on the water one more time but I doubt it.

Lews Vs. Shimano Baitcasters - Becomming a Lews Fan
I'm not bashing Shimano spinning reels. I love my Shimano spinning reels and in fact they are really all I ever need. I'm just bashing that one Shimano baitcaster reel I have because I spent $200 on it and then three or four years later I buy this Lews for only $130 (I read it has been on sale for $99) and it casts so much better. I suppose I should stop being a brand loyalist.

Lews Vs. Shimano Baitcasters - Becomming a Lews Fan
Really? Lews and Abu's are made in the same factory? I've not given Abu reels much thought. I'll have to look at them and compare them to the Lews reels the next time I'm at Gander Mountain.

Really, I don't care what happens to the stores. I wonder about the Cabelas catalogs. I hope they keep their distinct look about them.

Shimano NASCI 2500 vs. 3000
Wow, I like my two Symetre reels. I did not like the black color at first but then came to love that color. I feel the Symetre are built a little tougher than my Saharas.

Bass Pro Shops Acquires Cabelas!
Cabelas opened up a small store near Indy last year. I went once but was not impressed, mainly because I know have access to a Gander Mountain store and a new Academy store which are only twenty/thirty minutes away. That Cabelas is a good two hour drive from me. I do like Cabelas magazines though.

Shimano NASCI 2500 vs. 3000
What's the purpose of the NASCI? The Saharas (my favorite) are around $80 and the Symetre's (also my favorite) are around $100. I see these NASCI for around $100.00 So is this just another $100 real than can sell or is there something really different about the NASCI compared to the Sahara and Symetre?

Lews Vs. Shimano Baitcasters - Becomming a Lews Fan
Yeah, I bought that Lews at Gander Mountain. It has the Lews name on it and came in a black Lews box and all that. My next baitcaster is definitly going to be a Lews. I might oil that Shimano up. But that Lews casts nice.

Lews Vs. Shimano Baitcasters - Becomming a Lews Fan
OK, first off I'm a Shimano spinning reel fan. I love their spinning reels and they are all I really need for bass fishing. Now I have two baitcasters - one Shimano Chronarch 200e6 that I have owned for three or four years (my first baitcaster) and a new Lews Tournament SK that I bought about a month ago. I have the Lews reel on a medium fast baitcaster rod (1/4 to 5/8) *** Black. I have the Shimano on a medium heavy fast rod (3/8 to 1oz) Fenwick HMG and also a medium fast rod (1/4 to 3/4) Fenwick HMG. So far the Lews reel on the *** black rod casts like a dream. I've been really impressed how easy it casts, how it keeps backlashes down and how easy it is adjust the magnetic brakes with the dial on the side. I've never been too impressed with the Shimano Chronarch though. I hate saying that because I love their spinning reels. So today I put the Lews reel on the Fenwick medium and what did I find? It casts better than my Chronarch. I paid around $200.00 for that Chronarch a few years ago. I bought that Lews a few months ago and only paid $130.00 at Gander Mountain. I will admit the Chronarch is build like a tank but the Lews seems to have more parts and more advanced. So I'm wondering, are all the Lews reel as good as my Tournament SK? Are they all better than all the Shimanos? I'm impressed with the Tournament SK so do you think I will be impressed with the $200.00 Lews reels? The Shimano casts like its dead or something. When I cast with the Lews reel that spool seems to spin quickly with no backlashes. It starts right up and with the four pins inside, magnetic brakes and tension nob adjusted it keeps the backlashes down. When I feel the line start coming off the spool I will adjust the magnetic brakes on the next cast and no more line feathering off the spool. So quick and easy to ajdust. Also, I've noticed the Lews cast further than the Shimano. Anyway, I've been really impressed with that Lews reel.

Honesty time: I get a backlash 1 out of every ??? casts.
After three or four years of playing around with my baitcasters I finally figured out the secret to successful casting - heavy lures/weights! The heavier the better.

TV/Movie Reboots...Is Nothing Sacred?
Well, I just saw The Magnificent Seven remake about two hours ago and I loved it! It is my new favorite 2016 film that I put above Captain America Civil War and Nice Guys.

Daiwa Zillion SV TW
I haven't seen much talk about this new reel from Daiwa. What's the deal? I've only seen a few videos (made in the U.S.) talking about this reel. The spool design sounds interesting. I figured bass fishermen would be all over this reel. Do you think the spool is too shallow, is that why people are talking about it?

Why I chose Daiwa Tatula Type R over Shimano Curado
I'm a Shimano fan but I bought my first Lews baitcaster reel a month or so ago and that thing is starting to change my hate towards baitcasters to love for them. I got it on a *** Black rod and that thing casts nice with hardly any backlashes. Lews, at least the one I have, is changing my mind on baitcasters. Next up, I want a Daiwa.
