Plastic Rigs
Two of my favorites missing - swing jig (Biffle hardhead - type) and mojo (for flukes, mostly -- I suppose it could be called texas with small cylinder weight, but I usually think of bullet weights for texas.) And then there's variations on pegged texas, such as Florida. What about jika, also? And slider-head?

Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
Just looked at the results for the tourny last weekend and I don't feel quite so bad. Better'n I did, but not what I was afraid I'd see. Only four boats with six fish and top bag didn't go 20. I REALLY hate to delight in other's misfortune, so please don't take it that way -- I'm just glad that I can feel like I wasn't the only person on the entire lake sucking last weekend.

Funniest Thing You Have Ever Seen In Person
Was up north with the wife a few days ago on a popular smallmouth lake. We were testing my father's old outboard; he said it'd been burning oil...I wanted to run it a bit and see if it was bad oil or something mechanical. We came upon some guy that looked like he just learned to fish and talked to him for a few. I told him about a primo spot nearby, but he just made some smart-azzed comment.....so.....I just motored on out.....right over his spot. Priceless.

Increasing Time On The Water
I haven't read the article, but.....this last question is HUGE. Not just in fishing. VERY few people that I've known are really good at maximizing their time and efforts at anything 'productive'. If you can develop and hone that sort of 'good' focus, you'll go far

Deflate-Gate!
So.....that's quite the deflection. It's ok to cheat because everyone hates us and is going to accuse us of it anyway? Or...what? Is the point that we find cheaters because successful ones get called on it? What difference does it make if there's a motivation to 'bring them down'? Doesn't lessen the offense. Just allows it to be brought into the light. I'm sure the Jags continue to suck intentionally so that nobody will catch them cheating.

What Knot To Use To Put Braided Line Together On Spool.
I wouldn't trust that knot just 35 yds from the lure. Maybe a uni/uni

4Lb Line, What Hooks And Soft Plastics For Bass?
I use improved clinch 90% of the time on non-braid line. For braid-to-lure, I use palomar 100% of the time. I acknowledge that there are better options for particular line/lure combinations, but I feel the need to stick with simplicity -- knots I can tie quickly (and mostly blindly) on the water.

Deflate-Gate!
"Based on the evidence, we also have concluded that it is more probable than not that Tom Brady was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of [Jim] McNally and [John] Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls," the report said." Coming from someone who has spent much of his life steering clear of absolutes in my language, I must say that Tom Wells (investigator) is my new hero.

Stealth Mode Not Enough
I won't question whether that works. I'm sure it does. However, it is highly unlikely that I will EVER have the patience to wait five minutes between cast and retrieve. Maybe I need a bucket

Possibly Looking For A Yak..
I got my first kayak this past winter. So, I don't have enough fishing experience to help with. But, I will tell you that the decision to buy, even without confidence I'd like it was much easier knowing that the resale value is pretty solid with most kayaks. Keep your eyes peeled for deals. I got one on sale and talked the clerk into throwing in a paddle and rod holder w/mount.

4Lb Line, What Hooks And Soft Plastics For Bass?
My problem with such light line is that I do not have the confidence in the knots. After cinching, I invariably break 3 of every 10 just pulling them tight and 'testing' my knot -- even if I slobber the heck out of it.

Paddle Tail Swimbait Question
I'd also take a look at Megastrike Fat Shad. Off top of my head, I'm not sure about belly slit, but I'm fairly certain there's a good top slit, because they work really well on weighted hooks.

Any Rigs Besides Texas Rig?

Real Cover
I'm laughing out loud....or at least chuckling...as much as we all read this site and TONS of other information out there, you'd think we'd think more alike... jigs, senkos, frogs, weedless swimbaits...in the first few replies.... and I was immediately thinking Squarebill!....and if that doesn't work, a Rage Tail Structure Bug on a Biffle Hardhead.

Can't Catch 'em, Don't Feel Bad
May not be quoting Dickens, Shelley or Keats, but there's a good point...or at least a question in there. Did Van Soles and Troy Diede fish the tournament? And, if so, might not some of us take a little solace in their results? Even if they didn't, I see a couple names I recognize with single digit weight totals --- and I don't know anything about and don't follow pro bass fishing. So, I don't wish bad luck on any of them, it somehow makes us feel a little better when a pro has trouble getting bit.
