  1. You can't fish with a reel bag on I have the SOL, which is similar to the Tierra, and I FREAKING LOVE IT! Daiwa makes a fine spinning reel!
  2. Better yet, you could wash your Mercedes and get Bubbles all over it! I had a funny one for cinnamon, but I think it would've met the big eraser anyway...
  3. I didn't think it was all that funny until people started complaining. Now I think it is hilarious! Welcome to the forums man!
  4. I'll spend $150 on a bait, but not a freakin Lucky Craft @ $50.
  5. Congratulations Randall, you are now a full blown swimbaiter! You have joined the ranks of the glacier fisherman! Don't forget to do it with your night pictures this summer. A little messing with brightness and your night spots will get blown too!
  6. 6" throw it on a flippin stick w/20lb 13 bucks
  7. Its ok, this place is better anyway. On another positive note, the Mod I have a problem with nightfishes one of my lakes that you have to fish from shore only. I wouldn't mind having a 3am, middle of nowhere, dark of the moon, "discussion" with him. . Don't cross the big lanky white kid!
  8. I joined a local forum a year ago. I made 600 or so posts there since then. Not as a boast, but what I perceive to be ture, I was one of the most active and helpful members on that site, it was my homepage, and I spent hours there daily. It was recently handed over to a new mod that is just too pleased with his new found power, and is running it into the ground. Today I officially ceased posting there because of this. You know how much we all like this place? I like this other one *almost * as much. I'm bummed, but I could stand for it no longer. Which brings me to my point. Glenn and the Mods here do a TERRIFIC job and I believe that everyone is treated equally and with respect. Have I had posts deleted here? Of course, but they were right to do it and polite enough to send a PM explanation. This place is wonderful and works like a well oiled machine! If that was too much sucking up, you could always DELETE it LOL
  9. 7-8 lb northern pike on the banjo and about a 6 on the flying lure. as far as bass, only like 3 pounders on both, but that was in colorado, not a ton of big fish there!
  10. http://www.***.com/descpageRDSSHIMANO-SCRDSR.html Check out the M/L and Medium. I really like the cutout on the cork so that your index finger rides on the blank. The crucial is a sweet rod.
  11. In my defense, I was telling him how to get to the pond I was fishing, he ended up catching a dink.
  12. now thats funny right there. jigs has been known to be a little out of touch sometimes though.
  13. All things in moderation, my friend.
  14. Yeah its all about the 3" leech. Artificial, not live, just in case anyone is wondering.
  15. I used to smoke them on the flying lure too. How is the flying lure a gimmick and the backwards IKA revolutionary?
  16. Drop shot and dart head.
  17. I tried to figure out who got closest, but it gave me an aneurysm. So figure it out for yourselves! I was talking to my buddy on the phone when the first one bit. I set on her one handed about 20 feet away. When her head came up I said " $#!^, I got a five pounder on hold on!" I set my phone down and brought her in. She had the head of a five plus and when I hung her on the scale it read 3lbs-10ozs I don't understand!?!?! The second one ripped drag off my little dropshot rod and was pretty fun, as she was the biggest of the day, I hung her out of curiousity and it read 3lbs-11ozs I don't understand X2!!!!! KU said it best fish 1 had a giant head and a weasly body. The picture doesn't show it but she was the Ally McBeal of largemouth. fish 2 was a dense little sucker, look how small its mouth is and it weighed another ounce. P.S. I have checked my scale against a Salter Digital a few times and is always accurate. WEIRD.
  18. Because also included are rumors that DFG ( department of fish and game) officers were called to certify it. So actually I'm still wondering, but I HIGHLY HIGHLY ( <---- highly) doubt it.
  19. this stuff is flying all over the internet. I have seen it on three of my four other fishing sites. supposedly there are pictures on the way tonight.
  20. Pastami/salami/roast beef on dutch crunch with havarti cheese. 2 snickers with almonds. 2 1 liter dr. peppers. 1 Rockstar. Beef Jerky. 1 can of skoal straight. Replace the dr peppers with gatorades and add a gallon of water in the summer when it is over 100*F.
  21. I really like your outline. It suggests that you will not delve heavily into specific baits and brands and everything, just the fundamentals of gear selection. Although we here talk tirelessly of high end gear and subtle differences in baits, when really it is not that critical. Stressing seasonal patterns and the variables that both cause and effect those patterns will help your students most. Also there may be companies that would donate gear to such a class. A well written letter on the school's good correspondence stock (cheesy "Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" reference ) would probably go a long way! Also you might be able to talk a bass magazine to donate subscriptions to students. Homework should include BassResource.com article reads. Man, I hated school, but bass fishing...now that I could do!
  22. Now THAT is what I am talking about! That was worth rushing it off and having to take a picture of a total dink! Way to go Glenn, Randy, LBH, and us! I hope it brings Clay many a kicker!
  23. As that post is my intellectual property, you must credit me fully in your bibliography.
  24. Fishing is like a shower, it can seem boring, until you get into it and get good at handling your rod. Then it can be quite entertaining.
