I think Diecast is absolutely AWFUL! But then again I typically don't care for "metalcore" and I CANNOT stand hardcore.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME DAY!!!
Man what a trip! All week I was excited to go fishing with my buddy Justin. So Saturday I left the house a little after 2:30 AM and headed for Justin's house. After meeting up with him we continued our journey. We launched at first light in Justin's recently acquired boat, that I had outiftted with my livewell, motors, batteries, net, vests, anchor...and everything else. When we finally finished launching the boat, which was a chore, we fired up the "big motor" (9.5 furious horsepower ) and headed for the first spot of the day. We were both throwing the same type of swimbait. Our first spot was an island. Second cast of the day I hookup and end up losing a nice fish, but it wasn't giant, probably 5 or 6 pounds. After five minutes I had a lost fish and 2 more missed bites on that spot. So we quickly burned some bank to our next spot. I fished through it in one direction without a bite and then turned around. On the way back around, justin calls out "FISH!" and I turn around just in time to see her come up and shake. After a pretty sporty fight, even on a swimbait rod, I finally dip up his 6-8 which is his second largest fish of all time. We were pretty stoked and the big bait bite was pretty well on. We fished back through to the first spot of the day and justin again hooks up, she crushed his bait and headed straight for the boat, when he finally caught up with her, his rod loaded up BIG time and she popped off. That was a good fish. By this time it is probably 9 ish and the sun was beating down. We fished big bites for alot longer and picked up a couple weak bites, none of which stuck. We motored around and tried new spots, then went back to some familiar water and fished normal baits. Missed a few bites and I got a 4-12 on a jig. Justin caught a couple pound and a halfers. The mid day bite officially SUCKED! We met up with a buddy of mine in his canoe and sat in the middle of the lake shootin the breeze and havin some food. The BS'n session lasted about an hour and a half before I decided we should probably get back after some fish. As the sun slid lower I decided to target any available shade we could find. We fished really fast down non descript banks just chuckin and winding. After a few hundred yards, I got crushed and hooked her solid. She came up and and I managed to keep her from headshaking. She then decided that the bottom was the answer and bulldogged to the bottom for the rest of the fight. We got her in the net almost without incident. Got her on the scale and she went 9 lbs 5 ozs! STOKED! Into the livewell with justin's 6-8 and my 4-12. By this time, the sun was low enough that we had shade on our island so we motored over. I left justin plenty of water and let him know that I left a good spot for him (DANG IT!) He gets smashed and hooks her up. She was able to shake but with a giant hook buried in the roof of her mouth, all attempts at escape were unsuccessful, and I got her in the net. I think she might just be a double digit (his PB is 8-5) I hung her on the scale and she went 9-8!!!! Not his first double d, but a PB none the less!!! We fished a little while longer but were forced off the lake. We motored over to some other guys and asked them to take a photo with us and all of our fish before we let them go. When I opened up my makeshift livewell, which is even with the gunwales on Justin's boat, I reached in for one of the 9's and she jumped out of the livewell, slid over the gunwale and into the lake!!! > > >. I prayed that it was my fish that went over and not Justin's because it was his PB. It was mine. :-/ I had taken one picture when I caught her, before I put her in the box. And this is our group Photo, I think you can tell where my nine should have been! 30lbs1oz for FOUR fish!!!!! It was a great day and one helluva a way to break in a new boat! This is why I fish right here!!!!! P.S. Sorry guys, no background this time around. You know how it is.

need advice on swimbait rod length and power
If you are positive that you will never move up to heavier baits, go for the 7'11 MH, if there is a chance you will end up throwing bigger stuff get the 7'11" H. Its a great rod for the price and customer service is excellent.

matt lure male bluegill
There will be plenty of quality fish to keep you entertained until that real toad shows up! 2-4's will eat that bait like it is going out of style, and so will the big girls. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1173771153

Has anyone tried the Huddle-Bug?
They are pretty sweet little baits. I have caught a few keeper size fish on them when the jig bite shut down.

Does anyone here dip/chew?
Can a day for the last 7 years. Quit now. Being a slave to ground up plant parts, is not very cool.

night time
Ok here is one I have thought about quite a bit the last year or so. Contrast is the key as far as sight oriented feeding at night right? I understand water displacement, and noise/ vibration and all of that, but I want to talk about sight oriented feeding. From a basses perspective looking up, a dark colored bait silhouettes very very well against whatever moon/star/artificial light there might be. Ok so topwaters, spinnerbaits, cranks, all of those surface to mid column baits seem perfect in black or junebug or whatever very dark color you so desire. Now a bait presented along the bottom i.e. bass looking down from above. Without the ability to look towards whatever light source the fish has available, the ability to get a solid silhouette of the bait is almost wholly lost with a dark bait that blends into the bottom, assuming you are fishing a rock/silt/vegetation type bottom that is at least brown, gray, or even darker. This is where contrast comes back into play. In a bottom such as this, which is all that I really fish in, wouldn't something blazing white offer the fish the most contrast? It will reflect more of the available light back toward the fish. It seems to me, logically speaking, that with most bottom makeups around, white offers much better sight feeding appeal to fish. That is why all my soft plastic night baits are black ;D

Guns and roses.
Did anyone hear them do the VanHalen song for the RNR Hall of Fame? Man Slash BLEW it!!! I have to admit I like a few GNR songs, and Velvet Revolver is kind of catchy, but I don't own any of there stuff. Did you guys know that it is actually "AXL" and he chose his stage name because if you rearrange the letters including "ROSE" you can get something dirty that is well...a mouth full.

matt lure male bluegill
I have had the most success making them an easy meal. I know that sounds obvious but here is what I mean. A big prickly bluegill just cruising along through the middle of the water column in open water is really not all that appealing. Try swimming it as near the surface as you can. The bass like this beccause it is one less place to go for the bluegill. Also we have all seen bluegill finning along on the surface. I have also seen quite a few blowups happen on those schools of finning fish. Another easy meal method is fishing it like a spinner bait or crank. Run it into whatever you can. Rocks, stumps, reeds, trees, whatever. I also occasioanaly fish it like a worm. Because of the way it sits on bottom, you can make it look like it is feeding, and this is obviously a great way to fish the bait on beds. You will get bit, its just a matter of time. Fish it with a purpose and try to avoid just blindly chucking and winding. I recomend 20lb pline CXX for those baits as well, but I don't think that the braid is really hurting you much. Matt will likely have much more useful info shortly.

New PB on a Mattlures
Maybe the subject is a little misleading though After a very stressful couple of weeks for my dad, I invited him fishing with me this saturday. He loves to fish but frankly isn't very good, I just barely weaned him off of a closed face reel, LOL! I had been to the lake the week before and the bass bite was TOUGH! So we intended to chase some crappie. The bite had been pretty hot for them. After an hour of slinging little crappie jigs on 2lb test, we had 0 bites >. Figured that we might as well chase bass, I would rather blank with a swimbait than a crappie jig anyway Made the short run to a "test" spot and chucked my swimbait for a few minutes. After about 50 yards of bank I got drilled, after a quick fight I swung the days first fish, a 3-12 into the boat. Ran to the end of that spot for one more missed bite for me and my dad hung up my Staysee, which I ended up breaking off when my bait knocker cut the light line. Figured that if the bite was on where I was, it should be blazing on the other end of the lake. Made about a 20 minute run and started covering water fast. I had my old man rigged up with a D&M shakey head with a 6" straight tailed worm. I of course, continued to throw a swimbait. After about an hour of fishing and a mile of bank, my pop stuck a nice 2-8 behind me and another of similar size soon thereafter. After about 2 more hours we had no more fish in the boat, and my blazing bite was nowhere to be found. We made the now 30 minute run back down to my original area. I got on them pretty good. After 8 fish all over 3.5 and up to 4-6 I felt like I knew where the were and what they wanted. My dad only had one bite on the shakey so I switched him up. I had 10lb flouro leader on 20lb braid on the reel he was using. Realizing the swimbait bite was on and wanting him to catch a good fish, I cut the flouro off and rigged a custom colored Mattlures Baby Bass on his medium action spinning rod (not enough rod, I know, but it was my only option). I continued down the bank till I found an optimum spot and instructed him to throw to it. He dropped the bait down right where I had hoped and started the fast retrieve. I then had the EXTREME pleasure of watching the rod get smashed like the fish wanted to take it with her. He managed the fight pretty well and got her into the net. After a quite touching moment I lifted her up and hung her on the scale, she was a respectable 4-8 making her the largest bass he has ever caught, and his first swimbait fish. He missed one more bite and I boated a few more fish. I ended up with 12, only one under 3lbs for a best five of 20-6 for me with a 4-6 as my biggest. I had two other 4+'s. I had an absolute blast and caught some good fish, but that 4-8 of his was one of the coolest things I have gotten to experience in quite awhile. Great Times P.S. I know she doesn't look 4-8 but she had a TINY head and a big gut. Also my old man is 6'5, 255, with hand like ham hocks. Makes for small lookin fish. Post Post Script: Goes to show that 3 and 4's are not only able to eat 5-7inch baits, but that they love 'em! Right time, Right place, they can be THE bait for someone of nearly any skill level. As for me getting a PB on a Mattlures, well, the big girls are ready to "remove" bluegill, so I will be workin on it soon!

P-LINE EVOLUTION?
I use a few different lines from P-Line, but as an all around Evolution is probably my favorite. Very sensitive, low stretch, good abrasion resistance, small diameter for a very high relative breaking strength. I dig it, its a little spendy though.

Burn Remedies??
I used to get burnt alot, I always stuck with Visine and Cheetos Haven't done that in a couple years though. Seriously, I keep a potted aloe vera plant. I just break open a couple stalks and slather the goo on. Works well.
